Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future. This week we have special guest Clarke Whitehead, co-host of the fantastic Homo Superior podcast whose parents had the good sense to birth him on the date of the release of Kitty's Fairy Tale. Yep, what better bedtime story for a terrified 9 year-old to receive than to hear about how Dark Phoenix ate a sun and the adults around her were powerless to stop her? Also in Kitty's Fairytale: Clarke is basically Sage Our brand new segment: "Bro, why would you even say that?" Clarke's original creation, Jumbles The X-plane is jerk dragon Wolverine is the best there is at what he does and he doesn't like feeling silly Kitty brags about wet dreams to her teammates horny Bamfs All this plus Wolverine as the Tasmanian devil. Unlike Illyana, you will not be put to sleep with this week's episode. What does any of it mean for Clarke's future? Tune in to find out! Clarke Whitehead grew up right across the river from Washington DC, absorbing politics and history like a sponge. He is a theatre teacher and dramaturg, having studied in London and Galway, Ireland. He has a voracious appetite for entertainment from Asian reality dating shows, European Cold War dramas, and Anglophone Soap Operas to Turner Classic Movies, Sims Twitch Streams, and – obviously - X-Men comics. When Homo Superior was in it's planning stages, Clarke was to feature in the weekly segment “Clarke's Corner,” where he would spill his unorthodox or unpopular takes in an Andy Rooney style of off-kilter ranting. As the podcast's resident character historian, he keeps everyone updated on what Catseye has been up to. More of Lodro Rinzler's work can be found here and here and you can follow the podcast on Instagram at xmenpanelsdaily where we post X-Men comic panels...daily. On this episode of This vs. That, we talk with Harrison Scott Key, author of the incredibly popular book "How To Stay Married" as well as "Congratulations, Who Are You Again?" and "The World's Largest Man" (winner of the Thurber Prize for American Humor). We explore the theme of fairytale versus real marriage through Harrison's raw, honest, and often humorous account of marital betrayal. Harrison shares his journey of discovering his wife was in love with their neighbor, the separation that followed, and the challenging path to reconciliation. We discuss how he transformed this painful experience into a book, including his wife's perspective, and examine how his simple, naive expectations of marriage collided with the complex reality of betrayal and forgiveness. This fascinating conversation reveals the universal aspects of marriage through Harrison's particular story of heartbreak and ultimately, hope.-----We're really excited to tell you about Anchored Virtual's new podcast, Consult the Counselor. We're in the home stretch of the 60th Birthday Blitz at Hogwarts Professor! On the first of the last four days of July, Nick and John return to the books at a reader's suggestion in order to give a Lake and Shed reading of the original Newt Scamander textbook, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Nick relays everything you need to know about the genesis of this work and John talks about Rowling's comments to Stephen Fry in a 2022 interview about “archetypal” animals and the importance of understanding them because human beings are story-telling animals. Her discussion of the Lethifold and Niffler are especially challenging and illuminating. Enjoy!New to the Lake and Shed Kanreki Birthday series? Here's what we're doing:On 31 July 2025, Joanne Murray, aka J. K. Rowling and Robert Galbraith, will be celebrating her 60th birthday. This celebration is considered a ‘second birth' in Japan or Kanreki because it is the completion of the oriental astrological cycle. To mark JKR's Kanreki, Dr John Granger and Nick Jeffery, both Nipponophiles, are reading through Rowling's twenty-one published works and reviewing them in light of the author's writing process, her ‘Lake and Shed' metaphor. The ‘Lake' is the biographical source of her inspiration; the ‘Shed' is the alocal place of her intentional artistry, in which garage she transforms the biographical stuff provided by her subconscious mind into the archetypal stories that have made her the most important author of her age. You can hear Nick and John discuss this process and their birthday project at the first entry in this series of posts: Happy Birthday, JKR! A Lake and Shed Celebration of her Life and Work.Tomorrow? John and Nick act on the reader suggestion that we give a Lake and Shed reading of Tales of Beedle the Bard. Nick tells the ‘Three Year Summer' background of the Wizarding World's Fairy Tale collection and John talks about ‘The Hairy Heart.' The mysterious threshold between the fourth and fifth houses marks one of life's most profound transitions—the journey from our family roots to authentic self-expression. As we cross from Cancer's lunar realm into Leo's solar domain, we face the challenge of leaving familiar patterns behind to discover our unique creative voice.Through the Algonquin fairy tale of "The Rough-Faced Girl," we discover a powerful metaphor for this astrological passage. Unlike her more familiar Grimm Brothers counterpart, this indigenous Cinderella figure encounters Strong Wind—a warrior with the power of invisibility who can only be perceived by those who speak truth. His invisible nature symbolises the fourth house's hidden ancestral patterns that shape us from below conscious awareness.Scarred and disfigured by jealous sisters, the Rough-Faced Girl embodies the wounding that can occur in our family systems. Her patient endurance represents the unglamorous but essential inner work of the fourth house—tending the hearth, sweeping ashes, and maintaining dignity despite having her beauty and worth denied. Yet unlike others who attempt to win Strong Wind through deception, she alone speaks honestly, admitting she cannot see him until suddenly—she does. This moment of truthfulness becomes her liberation. Her perception that Strong Wind pulls his sled with the rainbow and uses the Milky Way as his bowstring connects her to cosmic forces beyond ordinary sight. This symbolizes the fifth house awakening—when we align with our authentic nature and discover the life force that flows through creative self-expression.The story illuminates how all the houses build upon each other: her disfigured face (first house persona), her tattered rags (second house resources), her sibling relationships (third house), her family wounds (fourth house), and finally her transformation through truth-speaking (fifth house). Through her journey, we glimpse how healing becomes possible when we honor both our roots and our unique creative spirit. What ancestral patterns are keeping you invisible to yourself? What truth must you speak to cross your own threshold into authentic self-expression? Join me next time as we explore the playful, pleasure-filled realm of the fifth house.I found this fairytale in a compilation of Cinderella stories from around the world: Cinderella: the Ultimate CollectionThe story of the Rough-Faced Girl was explored in the 90s by Rafe Martin and David Shannon. This week, Damona takes on a question from longtime listener Vernee, who's back in the dating scene after a hiatus… and hitting a wall when it comes to finding someone who shares her political and social justice values. Vernee asks: "I'm politically progressive, very values-driven, and living in a purple state. I've tried everything — hints in my profile, direct chats — but nothing's working. Where are the men who believe what I believe?" If you've ever wondered how to communicate what matters without scaring people off — or how to find someone who's actually aligned — this one's for you. In this episode: • Why dating apps might feel harder now than they did just a few years ago • How political identity and core values have become deeply intertwined • What to say in your profile (and what to leave out) • Why texting about politics rarely works — and what to try instead • Where to meet values-aligned people beyond the apps • The line between staying open-minded and lowering your standards Submit your question: call or text 424-246-6255 Follow Damona on IG: @damonahoffman Get your free Date Tracker at damonahoffman.com Order F the Fairytale on Amazon, B&N, or from your local bookseller Learn more about your ad choices. The Pogues would be forgiven for thinking they shouldn't carry on after the death of frontman Shane MacGowan. It was his voice and songwriting that gave the band that extra special spark. Luckily, they won't be putting the band to bed just yet. Founding member Spider Stacy joins us this week to discuss their decision to get back out there in front of the fans on tour this fall, celebrate their legacy, and keep those incredible songs alive. We also get into the continuing impact of "Fairytale of New York", the period in the 90s when Shane left the band, and the stories behind several of their best songs. Along with the Chieftains, the Pogues have done more to keep traditional Irish folk music alive than just about anyone else and they remain one of Ireland's greatest musical exports. We're lucky to have them! www.pogues.com

Plus, Aussie Diamonds selection is imminent and we share our controversial picks and omissions ahead of head coach Stacey Marinkovich's announcement.
July 14, 2025Paranormal Mysteries PodcastEpisode 440Eyes in the Attic & Divine HealingThe last couple of weeks have been hard, as we had a beloved family member pass away in June. The outpouring of kind words on Patreon has been amazing and greatly appreciated, and as we get back on our feet and try to move forward, I thank you for all of your love, and patience.I'd also like to take this moment to remind everyone to tell someone you love how much they mean to you. We always assume we have more time with the ones we cherish, and it's all too easy to put off visiting a family member, calling an old friend, or simply texting someone to say you're thinking of them.My advice is to make the time, and make sure that those closest to you know just how special they are. I appreciate all of you, and I truly hope that you know how much you're loved. Each and every one of you have touched someone's life in a massive way, whether you know it or not, and this world is a better place because of you. Never forget that.CONTACTWebsiteForumTell Your StorySUPPORTPatreonBuyMeACoffeePayPalFOLLOWSocial MediaPodcast SourceMy Wife's Podcast

It's rom-com rewatch time! We head back to 1990 Los Angeles for a beautiful tale about a sex worker (Julia Roberts) being lifted up into wealth, privilege and classiness by a corporate raider with a heart of gold (Richard Gere). It's the ultimate capitalistic fairy tale, dreaming up a ruthless investor who has amassed millions by destroying things – but who actually has a soft heart, principles, and a deep yearning to be loved. Comedian Josh Gondelman (host of the upcoming YouTube special “Positive Reinforcement”) joins for a beat-by-beat journey through the Rapunzel-Cinderella-Pygmalion Frankenstein that made Julia Roberts a star. In this episode I use a piece of audio designed to "teach people" about the constitutional convention to show what a truly absurd official narrative that it. This is simply one part of about a 15 part series I made on the constitutional convention and ratification of the document showing that what we're told is as absurd as "safe & effective".
