Story: This is the Krell again. We are beaming a 3rd tonality to your station. Are you receiving? Video of performance: https://youtu.be/9XzcPMncBWo. Instruments & Instrumentalities: The piece is a live improvisation on the Nord Lead 4 using only expressive real-time synthesis around a single original program. It was recorded in one real-time pass without edits. Credits Music, Sounds, Story, Video by Mark Mosher © 2018 Mark J. Mosher
Tom Hall is a master of interface. Whether it is interfacing analog gear to Max, Live effects into a makeshift looper, cassettes into anything - he not only knows how to do it, he is probably using it as you read this. He masterfully mixes modulars, Max, effects pedals and cassette decks to weave a beautiful tapestry of sound. Tom is about to celebrate his new album release: Spectra. Released by elli.media, every track is filled with every kind of process, but it's all combined in a way that is clearly a blend based off Tom's inner voice. No matter what tools he uses, the result is clearly "Tom". It was great to talk through how he uses different systems, how his performance modular has changed over time, and how the Nord Lead 2 has gotten a new look in his work. A great chat - with one of my favorite people on the planet. Enjoy - and make sure you check out Spectra!
Campfire’s Edge is the electronic music project of Hudson Valley, NY artist Nathan M. Yeager. Nathan's lifelong devotion to music is defined by his skills as a unique multi-instrumentalist; playing modular synthesizer, keyboard, guitar, homemade electronics, and whatever comes next in the evolution of music. He sees his current work as scores to short films yet to be realized. The music featured here is the result of 2 improvisational sessions layered on top of each other; and was created exclusively for the Data Cult Podcast. This piece features Eurorack Modular Synthesizer, Roland Juno 106, Moog Prodigy, Nord Lead 2x and Granular processing. Campfire’s Edge's debut EP “The Last Lighthouse” will be released August, 2017 on BlueHill. Story: This is the Krell. We are beaming a tonality from orbit to your station. Are you receiving? Artist Notes: This is another piece inspired by the ground-breaking work of Louis and Bebe Barron on the film Forbidden Planet. I use oscillators as the primary source for the piece. Instruments & Instrumentalities: The piece is a live improvisation on the Nord Lead 4 using only expressive real-time synthesis around a single original program from INIT. I recorded a video of me performing this piece in real-time www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvPO_N__LB8. Music, Sounds, Story and Cover art by Mark Mosher © 2016 Mark J. Story: The sound of what is going on inside the HAL 9000’s mind as he’s speaking “I’m Completely Operational, and All My Circuits Are Functioning Perfectly” to the crew. Artist Notes: This piece was improvised and performed on the Nord Lead 4 and the Elektron Octatrack. It was recorded in one real-time pass with no edits. Instruments and Instrumentalities: All the synthesized source sounds are from my original Lead 4 presets. I live sampled and looped the Nord Lead 4 into the Octatrack and performed most sonic movement in real-time on the Octatrack. Music, Sounds, Stories, Notes and Cover art by Mark Mosher © 2016 Mark J. В пятнадцатом выпуске радиошоу Flying Through The Universe , выходящем 7 мая 2012 вас ждёт незабываемое путешествие в мир chillout/psychill музыки вместе с A.e.r.o., а во втором часу - презентация авторского альбома украинского проекта Harax. 1. From Holland comes today's artist *TC* - It all started when he was like 7 years old and heard this tape with music by Jean-Michel Jarre: the Oxygegrave;ne album. It was recorded by his neighbour and friend Robert. It just went on and on from that moment in time... TC bought himself one synthesizer-based record after another. Other music was irrelevant from his perspective... Though during his childhood he used to listen to very melodic songs as well, collected by his parents; on a regular day he would hear Neil Diamond, James Last, Barbra Streisand, some Arne Janssen during birthday parties and even this Dutch band 'BZN'. We're talking the livingroom now. Back in his own room, TC would play his vinyl collection and listen to the radio. During the 80's his favorite radio show was the 'CD Show' hosted bynbsp;Wim van Putten. But also 'The Soul Show' with Ferry Maat and 'In The Mix' by Ben Liebrand on friday nights at Veronica radio station. [ad#post-ad] His vinyl collection in those years: Peru, Jarre, Vangelis, Klaus Doldinger, Tangerine Dream. When the first CD's were launched TC was at the 'Capilux' store and bought his first one: Klaus Schulze 'Body Love'. His first electronic music CD ever... TC studied Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, NL. In 1994, TC was the first Dutch conservatory student to graduate on a live dance music performance, held at the Sonic Acts Festival in Paradiso, Amsterdam. He was in a band at that time called 'Normally Invisible'. They made one album and it was released on Staalplaat Records, Amsterdam. Genre: ambient/trance. In his own studio TC worked on a solo project, the 'Atlantic Treasure' album. It wasn't released until years later when the iTunes Store was getting popular. There's no physical release but one never knows what the future might bring. From this album the jukebox plays 'Impact LNB' - inspired by the Nord Lead synth, samples from SciFi movies, the wonderful theme of 'La Double Vie de Veacute;ronique' (Zbigniew Preisner) and his big Persian love from Isfahan, both were born on the same day.nbsp;File it under 'what suits you' or 'never to be deleted'. It's intriguing and cinematic and it even makes the artist wonder whatever happened to making music...
