Kevin O'Shea, host of Supernatural Japan, joins us for a fascinating look at how the paranormal is woven into everyday life in Japanese culture. Note: If you are watching the video version, you may notice some brief video glitches on our guest's side at the very beginning of this interview. His audio is clear throughout, and the video stabilizes eventually. Thanks for sticking with us. Kevin shares how his journey from folklore-loving Canadian to longtime resident of Japan opened his eyes to a worldview where spirits, ancestors, and unseen forces are not fringe ideas but part of the social fabric. From Shinto beliefs and nature spirits to seasonal traditions surrounding the dead, this conversation explores how a technologically advanced society has held onto deeply rooted supernatural traditions. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to rain is an ideal way to switch off all the stressful things life brings and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds are rain on an umbrella, hailstorms, hard rain, soft rain, gentle rain, wind and rain, rain on a car.White noise helps babies and children to get a better and deeper night's sleep. This is because external sounds are masked by the noise. With white noise in the background, your child will not hear annoying cars driving by or dogs barking in bed. This allows your little one to sleep better. And it also saves you as a parent a lot of hours!Pink noise is more common in nature than you might expect. It can be compared to continuous rainfall or wind. In addition to white noise, pink noise is also increasing in popularity, especially in business environments. Because it can increase productivity, concentration and creativity.Brown noise can be compared to waves of the sea, a river current, strong winds or the sound of thunder during a storm. Like pink noise, brown noise is very similar to white noise. However, the frequencies have been lowered even further and a lot more concentrated. This gives it a rougher/coarse tone than pink noise. It sounds a bit deeper and a bit bass-like. The benefits of brown noise are the same as the other types of noise. It provides relaxation, increased focus and improved deep sleep.DISCLAIMER: Be aware that loud noises can damage your hearing. If you can't carry on a conversation without raising your voice while playing one of our spheres, the sound may be too loud for your ears. Do not place the speakers directly next to a baby's ears. Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast 379 - Solo Leveling Live Streamed on - 1/21/2026 Publish Date - 1/23/2026 New week, new show! January is chugging a long after an active week of gameplay. High Zaptitude, Grookey Community Day, and the start of Precious Pals has kept us busy over the last few days. With the Taken Over portion of Precious Pals landing this weekend, we will see a ton of activity in-game as it overlaps with Shadow Raikou Raid Day. This week gave us a little bit of everything, and we are loving it. Into the Depths is coming up with the release of Flimmet, however its Evolution, Glimmora is nowhere to be found. Will we see more Megas from Legaends Z-A being announced? With the announcement of Mega Victreebel and Mega Malimar being added to GO Tour: Kalos, it appears so. Let's hope the Mega meta continues to develop in a positive way, while allowing the game to stretch its legs and release things over time. Our Save the Dates for next season are here, and what we are already seeing is event EVERY Saturday. We speculate on what this sudden structuring of events could mean, and how it blocks gameplay from those that work on Saturdays. With event announcements rolling out leading to and after the Seasonal announcement, we could see the most packed event calendar yet. We dig into the listener mailbag with a voicemail, text and email. From new listeners to great ideas to feel good stories, the mailbag delivered big this week. After the mail, we discuss how different group sizes and gameboard environments have a dramatic impact on gameplay. We touch on Solo grinding, car grinding, and small and large scale Campfire events. There is no wrong way to play this game, and we want to hear from you. Hit us up and let us know your favorite ways to play the game. We also ask, is there any difference from how you WISH you can play the game vs how you ACTUALLY play the game? Let us know! In 2018, Ghislaine Maxwell—despite years of public allegations connecting her to Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking operation—was invited to and attended Jeff Bezos's elite and secretive literary retreat known as Campfire. The event, hosted by Bezos annually, brings together top authors, tech moguls, and media power players at a private location for a weekend of discussions, panels, and informal networking. Maxwell's presence at the retreat raised eyebrows, not only because of her reputation by that point, but also because it demonstrated how seamlessly she continued to move through the highest levels of elite society even after Epstein's 2008 conviction. Her attendance revealed a stunning level of normalization and acceptance within powerful circles, despite her growing notoriety.Maxwell reportedly arrived at the Campfire event alongside entrepreneur Scott Borgerson, a figure later revealed to be in a close relationship with her, though he denied any romantic involvement at the time. Attendees included influential figures from Silicon Valley, publishing, and entertainment—none of whom publicly objected to her presence. The revelation of her invitation has sparked renewed scrutiny into how the world's wealthiest and most influential people continued to welcome Epstein's known enablers into their inner circles long after the broader public became aware of their roles. It serves as yet another example of how elite spaces often insulate their own, regardless of the crimes that surround them.source:https://www.cnbc.com/2019/11/01/jeffrey-epstein-friend-ghislaine-maxwell-was-guest-at-jeff-bezos-event.htmlBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Jim sits down with Steven Intermill, the manager of the Buckland Museum of Witchcraft in Cleveland, Ohio. Steven shares the unlikely path that led him from museum work of a very different kind to becoming the public steward of one of the most important collections of modern witchcraft artifacts in the United States. Along the way, we explore the legacy of Raymond Buckland, often called the father of American witchcraft, and how Buckland's personal collection evolved into a living museum that attracts visitors from around the world. The conversation moves from history to the deeply human side of belief, touching on ritual objects, folklore, and the stories people bring with them when they walk through the museum doors. Steven reflects on misconceptions surrounding witchcraft, the museum's role as a place of education and welcome, and why certain artifacts carry such emotional weight. There are also lighter, surprising moments involving Ouija boards, haunted objects, and why curiosity, not fear, is often the real gateway into the unknown. This is a thoughtful, behind-the-scenes look at a museum that preserves more than objects. It preserves stories, experiences, and a living spiritual tradition. You can switch between apps while studying or working without pausing the ambient sound.About our sounds:Water creates a natural white noise. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to running water is an ideal way to turn off all the stressful things life brings, and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds include a river, flowing creek, babbling brook, gentle waves on a lake, and a bamboo fountain. Rain also creates a natural white noise. If you have trouble hearing or ringing in your ears, stop listening to the white noise immediately and see an audiologist or your doctor. The sounds provided by ASMR Sleep Recordings are for entertainment purposes only and are not a treatment for sleep disorders or tinnitus. Consult your doctor if you regularly have severe sleeping problems, experience fitful/restless sleep or feel tired during the day.ASMR Sleep Recordings is the white noise and nature sounds podcast to help you sleep, study or soothe a baby. On the surface, Blanche Taylor Moore looked like a model of small-town virtue: a devoted caregiver, a churchgoing woman, a trusted neighbor. But behind that carefully maintained image lay a wild heart with few limits on what it was capable of. Murder certainly wasn't beyond her, and those closest to her were in the most danger, consuming their own deaths with every bite of Blanche's carefully prepared dinners. She turned domestic intimacy into a lethal weapon.Sources:Jim Schutze, Preacher's Girl Court papers: https://law.justia.com/cases/north-carolina/supreme-court/1994/556a90-0.html https://abc11.com/post/black-widow-killer-is-north-carolinas-oldest-woman-on-death-row/5137961/ https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-08-22-vw-1071-story.html https://www.nytimes.com/1990/11/15/us/suspected-of-poisoning-her-mates-woman-is-guilty-in-friend-s-death.htmlFollow us, campers!Patreon (join to get all episodes ad-free, at least a day early, an extra episode a month, and a free sticker!): https://patreon.com/TrueCrimeCampfirehttps://www.truecrimecampfirepod.com/Facebook: True Crime CampfireInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/truecrimecampfire/?hl=enTwitter: @TCCampfire https://twitter.com/TCCampfireEmail: truecrimecampfirepod@gmail.comMERCH! https://true-crime-campfire.myspreadshop.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/true-crime-campfire--4251960/support.

Jim talks with Julie McFadden, RN, known to millions as Hospice Nurse Julie, about death in a honest, open, and surprisingly comforting chat. Drawing on her years in hospice care, Julie shares what people experience at end of life, why talking openly about dying can actually bring relief, and how acknowledging our mortality can help us live with more clarity and purpose. Her insights come from being at the bedside with patients and families during their most vulnerable moments, and they carry the calm assurance of someone who has seen this up close many times. The conversation also moves into compelling paranormal territory, touching on "visioning," deathbed experiences, and moments that don't fit neatly into medical explanations. Julie recounts stories of patients seeing deceased loved ones and feeling a sense of comfort or presence near the end, including one experience that continues she'll never forget. -- JOIN JIM'S SPOOKY STUDIO PLUS CLUB You can get access to Jim's entire back catalog of Campfire and a TON of exclusive content with the Spooky Studio Plus Club. ASMR Sleep Recordings has uploaded more than 400+ episodes in the 4 years that the podcast has been online. You can listen to all episodes of the podcast on your favorite podcast platform. This episode of DSC's Campfire features host Larry Weishuhn joined by returning guest Craig Archer and wildlife biologist Cyle Foley. Recorded in a hunting camp in the Rolling Plains of Texas, the trio dives deep into the science and strategy behind successful wildlife management. The Role of a Biologist: Cyle Foley explains his role as a consulting wildlife biologist. He emphasizes that effective management starts with knowing what you have. He conducts helicopter surveys to count populations, determining buck-to-doe ratios and fawn crops to set accurate harvest quotas. The group discusses the importance of the "management team"—the landowner, the land manager (Craig), and the biologist (Cyle) working in unison to achieve property goals. Deer Management Philosophy: "Age is King": Cyle stresses that age is the most critical factor in producing big deer. A buck needs to reach maturity (5-6 years old) to express his full potential. Nutrition is Queen: Once age is established, nutrition is the next limiting factor. If a deer has age and food, the antlers will follow. Genetics is the Joker: They agree that in a low-fence, free-range environment, you cannot effectively manage genetics. Culling "inferior" bucks generally doesn't work because you can't control the doe's genetic contribution. The Quail Equation: The Rolling Plains is famous for quail, but populations are volatile ("boom or bust"). Cyle explains that while rain is essential, timing is everything. Rain is needed to grow forbs (weeds), which attract insects. Quail chicks require a diet of almost 100% insects for the first few weeks of life to survive. Without "bugging grounds," the chicks starve even if the habitat looks green. Habitat Restoration: They discuss the use of prescribed fire and mechanical clearing (grubbing) to restore grasslands. The goal is to create a mosaic of cover and open space that benefits both deer and quail. Cyle's Background: A graduate of Texas Tech University, Cyle started his own consulting business to help landowners across Texas. He values the relationship with practical managers like Craig who can implement the scientific recommendations effectively on the ground. "You can't manage what you don't know you have." — Cyle Foley (on the necessity of accurate wildlife surveys) Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We are joined by Graham Nicholls, a leading researcher and experiencer of out-of-body experiences, to explore what really happens when consciousness seems to separate from the physical body. Graham shares his own early, spontaneous OBEs and how they led him down a path that blends firsthand experience with serious scientific inquiry. We discuss what defines an out-of-body experience, how common they may be, and how they relate to near-death experiences, illness, and altered states of consciousness. The conversation goes deeper into the science, touching on parapsychology, controlled experiments, and how concepts from quantum physics might help explain non-local consciousness. Graham also addresses skepticism head-on, discusses fear and safety concerns surrounding OBEs, and explains why intentional experiences can be transformative rather than dangerous. Along the way, we explore precognitive experiences, time perception, and practical first steps for those curious about exploring consciousness beyond the body. A thoughtful, grounded discussion that challenges assumptions while staying rooted in careful research and lived experience. In the early 1990s, a beloved first-grade teacher in Pennsylvania began receiving harassing, threatening letters from an anonymous sender. Her school principal, fellow teachers, and the parents of some of her students soon began receiving them too. As the ordeal wore on, the stalker slowly escalated from taunts to vile accusations and death threats—and then, finally, violence. From early on in the case, the police thought they knew the tormentor's identity, but it took 18 months to finally gather the evidence needed for an arrest. The trial to follow would be one of the most bizarre the state had ever seen. The case took twist after twist before reaching a conclusion nobody saw coming. Sources:Forensic Files, episode "Sealed With a Kiss"The Morning Call: https://www.mcall.com/1996/01/21/accused-stalker-says-victim-framed-her/The Morning Call: https://www.mcall.com/1997/01/30/custodian-says-teacher-was-often-upset-testimony-continues-in-pocono-mountain-stalking-case-at-school-fellow-instructors-job-is-at-stake/Pocono Record: https://www.poconorecord.com/story/news/2000/12/14/pm-pays-600000-to-settle/51084692007/https://www.poconorecord.com/story/news/2000/11/04/odd-teacher-harassment-case-returns/51083383007/?gnt-cfr=1&gca-cat=p&Forensic Files Now: https://forensicfilesnow.com/index.php/2020/06/27/joanne-chambers-and-paula-nawrocki-strange-lesson/Follow us, campers!Patreon (join to get all episodes ad-free, at least a day early, an extra episode a month, and a free sticker!): https://patreon.com/TrueCrimeCampfirehttps://www.truecrimecampfirepod.com/Facebook: True Crime CampfireInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/truecrimecampfire/?hl=enTwitter: @TCCampfire https://twitter.com/TCCampfireEmail: truecrimecampfirepod@gmail.comMERCH! https://true-crime-campfire.myspreadshop.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/true-crime-campfire--4251960/support.
