Inside The Mouse Castle: Disney News, Information and Commentary
Tim and Anthony dropped by Disneyland last week to get their last looks at the Rivers of America, the Disneyland Railroad and Big Thunder Ranch/Trail/BBQ before they close. They report back from their visits in today's Inside The Mouse Castle and look ahead to the changes coming to the northwest corner of Walt's original park (a rerouted river and a Star Wars something or other). They also chat about a few other items: Actor John Boyega likes the look of the Star Wars VIII script, calling it "much darker" than The Force Awakens. Should we expect The First Order Strikes Back? Ryan Coogler (Creed) has been tapped to direct Marvel's Black Panther. The movie will star Chadwick Boseman and Andy Serkis and is scheduled for a February 2018 release. Pixar's Inside Out took the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film on Sunday night, but how will it fare with the Oscars? We'll find out Thursday at 5:30 a.m. PT when the Academy Award nominations are announced. A retrospective of Disney artist Mel Shaw's work will open at the Walt Disney Family Museum on January 13 and run through September 12. It will be curated by film producer (and friend of The Mouse Castle) Don Hahn. Enjoy! www.TheMouseCastle.comRSS Feed: http://insidethemousecastle.libsyn.com/rss
Fangirls Going Rogue: Star Wars Conversation from a Female POV
Beyond the #fangirlflail festivities for the fantastic end of Star Wars Rebels Season One, Tricia Barr, Teresa Delgado, and Sarah Woloski discussed news from Celebration Anaheim, Star Wars Weekends, and the 2016 Star Wars-themed Disney Cruises. During Celebration, Fangirls Going Rogue will be appearing at the Podcaster Meet-up Thursday at 6:30 PM in the Hilton Lobby and also the Podcast Stage Saturday at 3:00 PM. Tricia Barr will also be hosting a fan panel on Sunday at 10:30 AM. More on that upcoming. We are open to any and all opportunities to #fangirlflail at the convention. If you have ideas of where, when, or how to showcase the legions of fangirls and their supporters, drop us an email at fangirlsgoingrogue@gmail.com, tweet it, or share a thought on our Facebook page. Amy Ratcliffe is back to help with working on our Fangirl Flair from last month’s starter ideas. Did you notice all the Star Wars nods in the Oscars? Well, so did Teresa. She wanted to talk about that and the snub of superhero movies. Tricia and Sarah had opinions of their own. You might have seen Jennifer Landa’s amazing Star Wars wedding photos on places like People.com. We just had to ask her about those and also her geek-themed YouTube channel. Say hi to Jen on Twitter@JenniferLanda. Princess Leia took over the character discussion. As Sarah points out, she has three themes! Tune in to find out what else makes her special. As always, the discussion isn’t over when the show ends. Drop us a voicemail at 331-213-8657.
