Myra Ellen Amos – better known as Tori Amos – is a singular voice in American popular music. While she has been nominated for such major accolades as Grammys and MTV Video Music Awards, she never received significant mainstream radio play in America. Still, her prodigious musical skills and captivating, poetry-rich lyrics confronting topics like religion, misogyny, and sexual assault made her an alt-pop icon who enjoyed considerable success in the 1990s and beyond. Now, more than 30 years into her musical career, and on the eve of the release of 18th studio album, In Times of Dragons, the Great Pop Culture Debate wants to look back and attempt to name the Best Tori Amos Song.Songs discussed: “Silent All These Years,” “Taxi Ride,” “God,” “Winter,” “Spark,” “China,” “Little Earthquakes,” “Crucify,” “Cornflake Girl,” “Jackie's Strength,” “Tear in Your Hand,” “Pretty Good Year,” “Raspberry Swirl,” “Hey, Jupiter,” “A Sorta Fairytale,” “Precious Things”Join host Eric Rezsnyak, Patreon sponsor Bob Erlenback, and GPCD panelists Jim Czadzeck and Kate Racculia as they discuss and debate 16 of their favorite songs by Tori Amos. For the warm-up to this episode, in which we discuss additional Tori Amos songs that didn't make the bracket, become a Patreon supporter of the podcast today. In Mark 1:16–20, Jesus calls His first disciples in the middle of their ordinary workday. With no hesitation, they drop their nets, leave behind everything familiar, and follow Him into the unknown. This 2 Minute Disciple devotional invites you to step into that moment, feel the weight of the choice, and take your own step of faith by “dropping your net” today.
Galen Clavio and Grace Ybarra are back with a midweek IU athletics update — and this one is all about Indiana men's basketball finding traction. They open with the Hoosiers' 92–74 win over Oregon, highlighted by another monster scoring night from Lamar Wilkerson and a huge efficiency game from Sam Alexis. The conversation then turns to what's changing under head coach Darian DeVries (including how he's adjusting Alexis' usage), why Indiana's offense is beginning to feel more sustainable, and the one looming concern: a defensive trendline that's drifting the wrong way even as the wins pile up.From there, it's a forward look at Illinois—matchup strengths/weaknesses, injury questions, and what Indiana needs to do to steal one on the road—before zooming out to bracketology and the Big Ten Tournament seeding mess (yes, including the dreaded 11 a.m. tips).

The biggest stages in sports are supposed to pull us together. This week we ask why the Super Bowl halftime and the Olympic spotlight feel more like battlegrounds than bonfires—and what it would take to get the joy back. We start with a straight-up reality check for New England fans: an improbable run deserves pride, even if the ending stung. Then we go deep on the halftime controversy, from a global-growth pitch that never met the moment to language and cultural signals that made families brace for debate instead of grabbing more chips. When an alternative halftime drew millions, it didn't “beat” the show so much as prove a point: there's a huge audience that wants faith, country, and comfort without a lecture. A Kid Rock-led tribute became a reminder that music can actually lift a stadium instead of lighting a fuse. That same longing spills into the Olympic conversation. Athletes train a lifetime for a few minutes under the flag, and too often the story gets hijacked by political prompts that flatten real people into soundbites. We argue for better questions—about grit, setbacks, and belief—that invite anyone to care, even if they disagree on everything else.If sports are our practice ground for courage and grace, broadcasts should help us find common ground, not force us into corners. Let performance lead. Let halftime heal. Let the anthem feel like relief. Join us as we lay out a simple path: choose programming that lowers the temperature, celebrate effort without culture-war traps, and make room for hope on the biggest stage. If that vision resonates, share the show, leave a review, and help us bring more people back to the same side of the field. If you found value in today's show please return the favor and leave a positive review and share it with someone important to you! https://www.sharethestrugglepodcast.com/reviews/new/Find all you need to know about the show https://www.sharethestrugglepodcast.com/Official Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100077724159859Join the 2% of Americans that Buy American and support American Together we can bring back American Manufacturing https://www.loudproudamerican.shop/Loud Proud American Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LoudproudamericanLoud Proud American Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/loud_proud_american/Loud Proud American TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@loud_proud_americanLoud Proud American YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmYQtOt6KVURuySWYQ2GWtwThank you for Supporting My American Dream!

Matthew 9:9-13 NLTAs Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector's booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him. Later, Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. But when the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with such scum?” When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don't need a doctor—sick people do.” Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.' For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” The Pharisees called the people Jesus was hanging out with “scum.” Jesus removed the barrier the pharisees had and dismantled the prejudice and in doing that actually established a new boundary. The new boundary was towards prejudice, judgment and even privilege. What drove Jesus' actions and words? Freedom, righteousness, justice, mercy, and love. When we follow Him, we have the best opportunity to do the same. Tear down barriers made by man and install boundaries built by God.Is there anywhere in your life that you have created an unhealthy barrier or outlook between the those you consider righteous and those you consider sinners?Let's pray together: “Heavenly Father, I have to admit that sometimes I act like You, but sometimes I act like a Pharisee. And all the time, I am a sinner. Teach me, help me, to take down barriers to love in my life and build only the boundaries You are okay with. As above, so below.”

This week on Your Mom's House, Christina P is riding solo while Tom Segura is away shooting Bad Thoughts, and she's joined by comedian/Impractical Joker Sal Vulcano for a unscheduled ride into the world of Architecture Digest. Things spiral immediately as Christina introduces Sal to Kevin Leonardo, a self-proclaimed “educational” creator who demonstrates ass shaving, douching, and butt-hole hygiene in full HD. Sal, who has a famously weak constitution and a severe fear of vomiting, is absolutely not prepared for what he sees, but you probably are. From there, Christina and Sal debate wild internet conspiracies involving satanic rituals, celebrity baby-eating rumors, and adrenochrome hysteria, questioning how anyone could possibly keep secrets at that level of fame. They next break down a viral food challenge. where a man with obviously fake teeth eats an obviously roasted potato every single day. The chaos continues with Sal recounting his nightmare experience in a self-driving Waymo car, the duo dissecting unhinged “alpha male” Uber-fight roleplay videos, and a brutally honest roast of shirtless celebrity vacation photos, featuring Jack Nicholson living his absolute best life. Plus some TikToks, cool guys, and Grammy fashion, all in this weeks episode for you to chew on. Today on The Natural Birth Podcast we have Kaela.Kaela is a mama of one from Australia. In today's episode she shares about her empowering and natural home birth that turned into a hospital transfer as she had a 3rd degree tear. Hospital transfers and tears are the 2 biggest fears amongst pregnant mamas and especially you who listen to this podcast. So what better way of facing those fears than by listening to a mama who had, according to herself, the most empowering birth even though she had both one of the bigger tears that only around 5% of women get and a hospital transfer from her home birth.People usually assume I think a natural birth through and through is the be all and end all because I am a huge advocate about educating about natural physiological birth and the benefits of it. But if you've listened to me for any length of time you know this is not true, and if you're a student or mentee of mine you know it even deeper.I'm all for education in pregnancy and optimizing body, mind and soul for your desired birth outcome which I believe mostly have to do with inner work, facing fears and deeply getting to know your body, baby and having a relationship with your intuition.Once the first contraction hits you are now to surrender to the great mystery of birth. And a positive birth experience is not necessarily a natural one. Not holding on to a certain outcome for your happiness is so important and trusting that there is wisdom in the way you birth even if it's not the way you wanted it. We can learn so much about ourselves, our babies, our deep hidden patterns and allow birth to awaken us, transform us and enlighten us instead of feeling like failures if it didn't end up being exactly as we wished.I love that Kaela only have positive proud feelings around her home birth where some might have felt the opposite having had a 3rd degree tear and transfer.I hope her story and how she navigated her tear and transfer is inspiring to you and also might release some fear around these two occurring in your birth.Want to work with Anna or join The Sacred Birth Worker Mentorship?Find Anna's Website, about her Mentorship & How to Work with Her, as well as all Links & Resources she mentions in the episode here:www.sacredbirthinternational.com/links-podcast
Our culture says, “Look out for yourself.”Jesus calls us to tear off the roof for others. What does real, selfless faith look like in a culture obsessed with comfort and convenience? In Luke 5:17–26, four friends tear through a roof to bring a paralyzed man to Jesus—and everything changes. In this powerful message, Chad Robichaux challenges us to confront the selfishness of our culture and rediscover the kind of faith that refuses to give up on people. The question is simple—but confronting:

Federal agents have descended on Minneapolis in the U.S., and things have gotten chaotic — and deadly. The Trump administration says the agents are there to enforce immigration law, but officers have shot three people so far, killing two, and are using tear gas and smoke on protesters. So today, we're looking at the potential health impacts of tear gas. We'll talk about what we do — and don't — know about potential long-term effects of this stuff. And we're also looking into research on the mental health effects of immigration raids. We speak to Dr. Jennifer Brown, Dr. Carlee Toddes, and Dr. William Lopez. This episode does mention mental health issues. Welcome to the wonderful, winding world of Schauer Thoughts! This week we're meandering through new research from MIT on the rest and digest system, as well as making a sharp turn into “womb envy.” Is the rest and digest system related to womb envy? Not really. I mean, potentially? There is definitely a glandular route through the endocrine system, but I'm not taking that road today! Today I'm just covering two separate topics because I wanted to! Huzzah. Tear. Pour. Live More. Go to https://LIQUIDIV.com and get 20% off your first order with code SCHAUER at checkout. “Wait, so what are today's separate topics?” Rest & digest and then “womb envy.” Thank you again for joining me in the communal Schauer! There's a joke to be made about “womb envy” and a “baby Schauer” - please let me know if you come up with anything solid! Enjoy the episode. Nuance for why I “don't want to get philosophical,” spoiler! It's not because I don't like philosophy, it's because we're going to get into “zero-sum” thinking and game theory and this is where people are going to argue about what economic systems are the “best” and people feel *compelled* to play devil's advocate. Grief isn't a one-time event - it's a thread that weaves its way through different seasons of our lives. In this deeply personal episode, I share the story of how I've walked through the grief of losing my dad at 33, my mom at 54, my son at 59, and most recently, my beloved dog Huckle just before turning 66.Each loss was different. Each one shaped me. And through it all, even when I wasn't walking with God - He never left. For years, I turned to New Age and occult teachings to try and explain away my pain. But when I lost my son, everything unraveled. That grief broke open what none of those spiritual teachings could reach—and it was through that unraveling that I finally found the true comfort and healing of Jesus Christ. In this episode, I invite you into an honest conversation about:Why grief feels different depending on the lossHow spiritual bypassing in the New Age can numb real sorrowWhat the Bible says about mourning, comfort, and eternityStories of Biblical women who experienced profound lossHow God wastes no tear—even when we've walked through grief without HimWhether you've lost a parent, a child, a pet, a marriage, or a version of yourself, this episode is a sacred space to reflect, grieve, and begin healing.I want you to know: God sees your sorrow. He remembers your tears. And He is near—even in the silence. The Illuminated Connection Call is a free conversation where we talk heart to heart—no pressure, no agenda. I'd love to hear what's on your heart, where you are in your life and spiritual journey, and what you're sensing God may be stirring in you. Whether you're just beginning to question the New Age path, exploring Biblical truth, are already living a God-led life, or simply feeling lost and unsure—this space is for you. Maddy, a registered nurse and mother of three from the Central Coast of New South Wales, takes us through her complete birth journey. Her story beautifully illustrates how subsequent births can offer profound healing opportunities, especially with the right support team and birth education. Maddy's first birth was an induction which resulted in significant perineal trauma, and postpartum haemorrhage. However, her second and third births through Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) care demonstrate the transformative power of continuity of care, informed choice, and trusting your body's ability to birth. In this episode:The Rundown (00:38): Dane Zumbahlen returns with NDA updates and key reminders — Demolition Phoenix (Feb. 4-7) and the Summer 2026 Quarterly Member Meeting (June 5-6). He then breaks down what's driving early-2026 scrap conditions: nonferrous strength led by record-setting copper, quietly firm aluminum, steady ferrous pricing — and the volatility to watch as tariffs, demand and logistics shape the next quarter. From the Field (7:28): Dan Bolster of Homrich (and the NDA Safety Committee) shares two simple routines that pay off big: morning huddles and stretch-and-flex. He explains how a quick, intentional reset — covering today's plan, hazards, controls and what changed since yesterday — helps crewscommunicate better, stay focused and reduce strains, sprains and preventable incidents.Member Conversation (14:37): Jake Lindamood of LindamoodDemolition walks through the high-stakes Parkland Hospital project in Dallas: a 1.6-million-square-foot teardown in a tight medical district, with multiple active hospitals connected to the work. He details how engineering-led planning, disciplined communication with stakeholders and the right high-reach equipment helped the team separate structures safely, protect the public and finish ahead of schedule — with safety and execution driving the result.

Episode 5063: Populist Tear For Economics; SCOTUS Hearing On Transgender Athletes
//The Wire//2300Z January 13, 2026////ROUTINE////BLUF: LOS ANGELES TERRORIST RELEASED ON BAIL AFTER BEING CHARGED ONLY WITH A MISDEMEANOR. SOMALI FRAUD INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUE IN MAINE. RIOTS CONTINUE IN MINNEAPOLIS.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------HomeFront-Minneapolis: The nightly riots continued yesterday evening, with unrest largely centering around the Whipple Federal Building. Tear gas has been deployed at this location daily, as rioters routinely try to block vehicles from entering/exiting the facility's Entry Control Point (ECP). Overnight, the perimeter at the Federal Building was expanded and fortified with more fencing. Throughout the city, most of the kinetic activity has been confined to E 34th Street, with tear gas and flashbangs being used regularly in a defensive role, to prevent rioters from physically assaulting ICE agents during arrests.Maine: Investigations into Somali fraud have continued to expand. In the town of Lewiston, a Somalian man at the center of recent scandal has resigned a few days after being sworn in. Iman Osman was reportedly elected to office last month, even though he had been indicted by a federal grand jury for stealing firearms.Analyst Comment: The Osman case has been developing for a while. Scandal first arose after citizens realized that he committed fraud on his campaign paperwork regarding his official residence. His official residence as per campaign paperwork is actually a vacant building that had been condemned because it had been used as a meth lab, so no one can verify that he actually lives in the district. Yesterday, the other members of the City Council voted to investigate his residency status, and Osman's only act as a City Councilor was to be the only vote against the investigation into himself. After the votes came out 6-1 against him, he resigned.California: The man who carried out the vehicle ramming attack at the Iranian protest in Los Angeles has been identified as Calor Madanescht. As the attack only wounded two people (both of whom refused medical care at the scene), the assailant has only been charged with reckless driving. Madanescht's bond has been set at zero dollars (the standard for misdemeanors in California), and he was released from jail Monday afternoon.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In their own press release, the LAPD admits that he intended to ram the crowd and police officers, forcing several of them to jump out of the way (thus confirming deadly intent). It must be noted that the details of this case are pretty sketchy overall, considering how the attacker did not cause nearly as much damage as he could have. The odd statements found on the assailant's social media page, and the fact that he claims to be an Iranian refugee who happens to have an incredibly non-Iranian name, all add to the strangeness of this incident. However, just because this guy is the most ineffective terrorist in recent memory doesn't mean that he isn't still a terrorist. And now, he's back on the street at a time when Iranian protests are continuing throughout Los Angeles, and tensions remain palpably high in the Middle East.Any time that tensions escalate overseas regarding a hot-button issue, these tensions nearly always are mirrored within the American homeland, which often manifest in attacks or at minimum clashes between protest groups. In this case, the FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force are investigating the attack, which is a moot point if the terrorist has been released by the local authorities. As anti-regime protests (of varying size) are fairly regular throughout Los Angeles, it's quite likely that the original assailant himself, but more likely others who will see that he got away with this, will conduct copycat vehicle ramming attacks over the next few days. Whether or not any terrorist is willing to capitalize on this is anyone's guess, but the situation
