Jordan Belfort shared his advice on running a business and the rules he uses to hire, manage and fire people. He's recently written a book about how to invest without getting scammed that seems to be full of extremely reasonable information for the average person. Hint - avoid money managers. If you want to learn about long term financial planning, as well as how to optimize business operations, this is a handy episode. Jordan Belfort is an author, motivational speaker, and former stockbroker. In 1999, he pleaded guilty to fraud and related crimes in connection with stock-market manipulation and running a boiler room as part of a penny-stock scam. After 22 months in prison, he published a memoir, The Wolf of Wall Street, which was adapted into a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Jordan now uses his experiences to teach people how to make and maximize their money. With special -- and returning! -- guest Krishna Smitha, Anna and Derek debate if Lucas knew Luke and Leia would be siblings before their kiss, the moral ambiguity of training Luke to eventually kill his own father and much more during their discussion of the iconic flick Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980). Connect with '80s Movie Montage on Facebook, Twitter/X or Instagram! The idea for the podcast came when they realized just how much they talk – a lot – when watching films from their favorite cinematic era. Their wedding theme was “a light nod to the ‘80s,” so there's that, too. Both hail from the Midwest but have called Los Angeles home for several years now. Anna is a writer who received her B.A. in Film/Video from Columbia College Chicago and M.A. in Film Studies from Chapman University. Her dark comedy short She Had It Coming was an Official Selection of 25 film festivals with several awards won for it among them. Derek is an attorney who also likes movies. It is a point of pride that most of their podcast episodes are longer than the movies they cover.Krishna Smitha is an actress-producer based in Los Angeles working in television, film and theatre. Most recently she can be seen guest starring on NCIS:LA, Platonic, and The Afterparty. She is a company member at the Road Theatre where she helps produce the Summer Playwrights Festival. Krishna loves creating all sorts of stuff with other artists, whether it be films, theatre, or podcasts! www.KrishnaSmitha.com

Fall 2017 Roy Micah Carter, Ben Ganster, & Matthew ‘Georgia' Frankic met while rehearsing for a one-off gig in December 2017. During this time frame, the three felt the wonderful vibe produced while together groovin' AND hangin'. In December 2019, Roy decided to revamp his old band ‘Honey Roy Band' with the use of his tight rhythm section of Ben & Georgia. By late Summer 2020, Georgia set to organize & manage the recording of a 10-song album called ‘Georgia's Pool Party'. Music videos for “How Much Funk?”, “Cream Feelin'”, “Greens & Beans”, and “She Knocked Me Down” are watchable via the YouTube. The Funkadellas brought a vocal power to the band's live experience. Lindsey Pickens (Georgia's lady-friend) and Cher'Rita Horne, Mickey Peaches was brought on board to play electric guitar on a new idea of Georgia's for the Pool Party follow-up: ‘Georgia's After Party'. The music would be simple: an instrumental groove album. Lucas Pate was an old friend of Georgia's from various local bands, including Angle Rhodes. Georgia had been writing songs for years. Some had been adapted with various bands he was in. In 2008 he had home-produced a solo-acoustic self-titled album called ‘Georgia Funkadelic'.

If you guys are interested in learning detox tricks or interested in ways to heal this is an informative episode. Everyone should know key ways to detox because of how many chemicals we're exposed to on a daily basis - it's more than we can handle and it's not how we evolved... I've been wanting to talk 1-on-1 with @drbenlynch for a long time now (slightly selfishly) to get his professional thoughts on my own health situation. We discussed topics like detoxification hacks, what detox looks like (it shouldn't make you feel worse), histamine intolerance, castor oil packs, how genes play a role in bodily reactions to supplements, and whether we should be concerned about mold. Dr. Ben Lynch is the best-selling author of Dirty Genes and President of Seeking Health, a company that helps educate both the public and health professionals on how to overcome genetic dysfunction. In this episode, I spoke with Rory Sutherland, Vice Chairman of Ogilvy, the massively successful advertising company behind brands like American Express, Sears, Ford, IBM and more. We spoke about what makes people spend money on luxury goods, the personality traits that make a great marketer, whether people can learn marketing, how many projects people can work on at once, the concept of costly signaling and much more. Rory is the Vice Chairman of Ogilvy UK, and has co-founded a behavioral science practice within the agency. He works with a consulting practice of psychology graduates who look for ‘unseen opportunities' in consumer behavior - these are the often small contextual changes which can have enormous effects on the decisions people make - for instance tripling the sales rate of a call center by adding just a few sentences to the script. He is the host on the podcast OnBrand with ALF and he has joined forces with MAD//Masters to lead a 12 week CPD accredited personal development program to help marketers adapt, make sense of accelerated disruption and use the tried and tested recipe of using creativity, innovation and behavioral science to their competitive advantage. Dear Fight Laugh Feast Conference Attendees! We are so excited to see you at the Politics of Six Day Creation Conference next week! We are looking forward to fellowshipping with old friends, meeting new friends, and hearing from some great speakers. As you get ready for your trip to the conference, here are some important details to keep in mind, so please do read to the end! Conference kick off: Veteran Fight Laugh Feast Conference goers will know that the conference normally kicks off with Beer and Psalms immediately following registration. This year, you will not register before Beer and Psalms. Beer and Psalms is also not on Ark Encounter property. The Beer and Psalms event is happening on Wednesday, October 11th from 6:30-9:00 PM at the Grant County Fairgrounds: 115 Baton Rouge Drive, Williamstown, KY 41097 (15 minute drive from the Ark). Heavy hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, snacks for the kiddos, and a bouncy house will be provided as well as hearty fellowship and singing! We do recommend eating a light dinner before coming. This is an outdoor fairground venue, so we also recommend that you wear shoes you don’t mind getting a little dirty and bringing a jacket. When you arrive at Beer and Psalms, volunteers will help direct you on where to park. Registration for the conference will happen the following day, Thursday, October 12th starting at 5:00 PM in the Answers Center adjacent to the Ark. We’ll then officially kick the conference off with our first talk by Toby Sumpter at 7PM. There will be an After Party to follow at the View Event Center: 900 KY-36 W, Williamstown, KY 41097 (2 minute drive from the Ark). There will be pizza and beer/wine available for purchase, and fire pits to make s’mores for dessert! The first round of drinks will be provided by one of our sponsors! Arriving at the Ark: The Ark’s address is: 1 Ark Encounter Drive - Williamstown, KY 41097. When you arrive at the Ark Encounter for the conference, you will park, take a shuttle to the Ark Encounter Grounds, and then go through Ark Encounter admissions. Ark Encounter admissions is where you will present the 3-Day Bouncer Pass that is required for all FLF conference attendees. Please note that the Ark parking fees are $15 for standard size vehicles and $20 for oversized vehicles. We recommend arriving a little early each day of the conference as well as bringing anything with you that you may need throughout the day due to the shuttle process. Please keep in mind that the Ark does not permit concealed carried guns and there is a security process when going through their admissions. The Creation Museum: Please be aware that the Creation Museum is not on the Ark Encounter grounds. It is located in Petersburg, KY (about a 45 minute drive from the Ark Encounter). If you’d like to visit the museum, please plan your trip accordingly. We recommend going to visit the museum the morning of Thursday, October 12th before conference registration opens that evening. To see the full schedule for the weekend, speakers, psalm sheet, and more, head to our website! Attached is a map of the Ark Encounter grounds, so you can familiarize yourself with where you will be during the conference. Again, we are looking forward to seeing you soon! If you have any questions about the conference, please reach out to us at contact@fightlaughfeast.com. Blessings, The Fight Laugh Feast Network
