Lochner krönt sich mit Bestzeiten in allen vier Läufen im Eiskanal von Cortina zum Olympiasieger im Zweierbob. 1,34 Sekunden Vorsprung am Ende, das ist nicht nur eine Machtdemonstration, das wirft auch die Frage auf: Warum so deutlich? Der „Dreierbob“ geht auf Antwortsuche – und das direkt am Ort des Geschehens an der Pista Olimpica Eugenio Monti. Lochner und Friedrich sowie ihre Anschieber sagen, was war und vor allem, warum es so gekommen ist. Hat er damit gerechnet, dass es so klar ausgeht? Lochner, der Mann vom Königsee, sagt ohne Umschweife: „Insgeheim schon.“ Er habe gewusst, dass er es draufhat, erzählt er im Podcast – und erklärt, warum ihn die Bahn in Cortina so gut liege. Auf der anderen Seite Friedrich, der Dominator der vergangenen Jahre, viermaliger Olympiasieger und nun bei Olympia erstmals von Lochner besiegt. Der Pirnaer hat alles auf Gold gesetzt und zeigt sich im entscheidenden Moment als fairer Sportler. „Wir sind zufrieden, es spiegelt diese Saison wider. Silber sieht verdammt cool aus, muss man auch sagen.“ Und weiter: „Wir müssen das neidlos anerkennen. Der Hansi hat verdient gewonnen.“ Schließlich führt die Antwortsuche auch nach Potsdam. Dort leitet der frühere Weltklasse-Anschieber Kevin Kuske am Olympiastützpunkt die Bobsparte – und ist Trainer von Lochners Anschieber Georg Fleischhauer. Accordions are woven into New Mexico's soundscape—at fiestas, on plazas, and in the musical storytelling traditions that travel across generations. In this episode of Encounter Culture, host Emily Withnall talks with Tony Tomei and Antonio Maestas, a master-and-apprentice duo who completed the New Mexico Arts Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program in 2024, focusing on accordion restoration and traditional New Mexico tunings. Tony and Antonio fell in love with the accordion in different decades and play different styles. Tony first encountered the accordion as a child in the 1950s, growing up in an ethnically diverse community where the instrument was central to social life.  "And that was before the Beatles came in the sixties and basically wreaked havoc with the accordion and everybody switched over to the guitars," Tony laughs.
