Avec son presque huis-clos dans un manoir, où un détective tente d’élucider la mort d’un riche écrivain, et avec son casting XXL réunissant Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Colette, Michael Shannon, Christopher Plummer ou encore Ana de Armas, le cinéaste américain vient (re)prouver qu’il est un auteur intéressant. Car en s’amusant à déconstruire les codes du whodunit de manière ludique, il balance une charge politique anti-Trump sur l’immigration plutôt savoureuse et d’une finesse rare à Hollywood. Michael heeft zijn houding t.o.v. indie games veranderd in het afgelopen jaar en hij is blij dat de consument met de portemonnee is gaan stemmen. 01:10:40 - Games uit de backlog Naast games uit 2017 hebben de mannen ook nog een hoop games uit eerdere jaren gespeeld die veel indruk gemaakt hebben, in deze sectie licht elk van hen het hoogtepunt eruit. 01:24:04 - De meest teleurstellende games van 2017 Soms kijk je heel erg uit naar een game en blijkt die niet aan je hoge verwachtingen te voldoen of blijkt deze een stuk minder leuk te zijn dan games die in diezelfde periode uitkomen. Met teleurstellende games worden in dit geval dan ook niet slechte games bedoeld maar games die over de gehele linie genomen minder indruk hebben gemaakt dan van ze verwacht werd. Steef spoilt bijna Star Wars VIII maar daar had Niels gelukkig een sound effectje voor. 1:50:33 - De favoriete DLC die we in 2017 gespeeld hebben Welke downloadable content of expansions hebben ons in 2027 beziggehouden? Door Niels zijn favoriete DLC herinnert Steef ook weer een van zijn grootste teleurstellingen. 1:59:08 - De mooiste retro aankopen Niels profiteert van iemand die van een hoop dubbele NES games af moest komen, Michael is trots op zijn PSP verzameling en Steef vertelt uitgebried over zijn avonturen in Leiden waarin hij enkele zeer bijzondere retro aankopen heeft gedaan. Tot slot vertelt Niels nog waarom je beter geen games van andere continenten kan bestellen rond Kerst en Nieuwjaar, want PostNL raakte zijn pakket kwijt. 02:23:37 - Wat de Button Bashers Forumgebrukers van het gamejaar 2017 vonden Ook de leden van het Button Bashers forum hebben input geleverd voor het jaaroverzicht, Michael vroeg hen om de mooiste aankoop, het mooiste moment en de voornemens voor 2018. En daar werd door velen uitgebreid op gereageerd. 02:55:11 - Goede voornemens voor 2018 Het laatste onderdeel van deze deelaflevering gaat over de goede voornemens van Niels, Steef en Michael voor 2018. 2017 was niet voor alle drie een goed jaar en men is voornemens daar in 2018 actief iets aan te veranderen. Het leven naast gaming en de Button Bashers Podcast wordt hier uitgebreid in besproken.
