Star Wars Weekend Celebration
WDW Reflections Podcast - Your unofficial guide through Walt Disney World Memories
Howdy, folks! This week, the boys were caught in the holiday crush and couldn't get together to provide the new show they wanted to. However, as a special audio-only treat, they thought they'd share a very special archived podcast from 2006, which features Dewey and Tony as they reflect on Star Wars Weekends - LIVE from Disney's MGM Studios in May of that year. In 2006, Tony was a co-host of a Star Wars related podcast called, "Echo 3 to Echo 7". In May of that year, he invited Dewey to call in to him, Live from the Parks, to talk about what he was experiencing. What you are about to listen to is the complete episode of that podcast, which isn't too unlike the show we provide to you now, 15 years later! This was the first ever full length conversation between Dewey and Tony, and is full of a great eyes-on perspective of how Disney was celebrating Star Wars that year - a half dozen years before they would actually own the property! Since this week also marks the 50th Anniversary of the formation of Lucasfilm, we thought it might be fun for you to listen to the complete program, as it details the history of Lucasfilm and Disney Parks up to that time. See ya next week for a special show dedicated to more of the Lucasfilm/Disney connection. Enjoy and let us know what you think! This week we finally find out what all the hype is about surrounding Beat Saber. It's a game available on PSVR and Oculus Rift where players control two lightsabers and slash through cubes coming at them to the beat of songs. It's incredibly fun and we talk all about it. Austin plays a game called Chasm with procedurally generated maps that may or may not help the game succeed. In our news this week, someone is trying to do a real-life battle royale. Overwatch League players are quitting due to stress and Jason West (former co-founder of Respawn Entertainment) is joining forces with Epic Games. Speaking of Respawn, we finally know what the new Star Wars game is all about coming out of EA. It's called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and is a single player only, microtransaction-free story campaign following a Jedi during the Dark Times. Will this give EA a win or will it mean the end of EA and their license with Star Wars? Check out video clips of our news every week over on YouTube. On this special episode of WDW Tiki Room host Aljon Go features audio from Star Wars Weekends 2015 (Weekend 1 – May 15 – 17) including the Stars of the Saga show with actor Ian McDiarmid (Senator/Emperor Palpatine – Star Wars Prequel Trilogy) and Amy Allen (Jedi Aayla Secura – Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. In this episode, we cover the latest news, answer last week's Hidden Mickey segment, and review Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studio. Also, we catch up on listener feedback and questions.
Annie and Dan start this ep by discussing the News of the week, which covers things like runDisney, Star Wars Weekend, a long comment by Dan about Guardians of the Galaxy, the Planes sequel, and the price increase at Disneyland They then go through a list of suggested activities for Walt Disney World in the Rain! Next they go through some pretty good Disney Dummies that mostly focus on people being dumb, and also the antiquated notion of chivalry.Lastly they discuss how they both booked their WDW trips this week, how they're both staying at Deluxe Resorts, and there is some discussion of packages.
Alan Horn confirms that Episode VII filmed in Abu Dhabi, the Star Wars Rebels crew reveals the show's theme music, and Star Wars Weekends brings The Clone Wars and Rebels to Disney World. Plus, we present Justin Bolger's WonderCon interview with Dave Filoni -- where he discusses major subjects like the identity of the Chosen One -- and then break down the interview and the Rebels panel with Justin himself. Don't miss this jam-packed episode of The ForceCast!
Justin Bolger joins Eric Geller to discuss Star Wars Rebels character reveals, a super-sized Star Wars Weekends, and the trailer for The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions. Then, as Rebels prepares to take us back to the Original Trilogy, Eric and Justin talk to FANgirl Blog's Tricia Barr about racial and gender diversity in the Empire, the Rebel Alliance, and the galaxy as a whole.
