Our guest today is John Crump. John is a firearms investigative journalist for AmmoLand News. Federal plaintiffs have used his research in their firearms cases, and News media around the country widely cited his research into some powerful examples of failures in the Gun Control agenda. He is also a Second Amendment advocate, and serves as the Virginia State Director for Gun Owners of America. John has just authored a book titled “Speaking With Giants: Interviews From AmmoLand” to raise money to help his nine-year-old niece, Bella, to fight brain cancer. 1) What an amazing thing, to write a book to help your niece and her family during what has to be a terrifying and uncertain time. Your niece is only 9 years old. Tell us about this diagnosis. 2) Some people start Go Fund Me campaigns, but you write...so you author an entire book! Tell us about the book. John Crump is releasing a book to raise money to help his nine-year-old niece, Bella, to fight brain cancer. Doctors have diagnosed Crump’s niece with a rare form of aggressive childhood brain cancer (DIPG). The diagnoses have left the family devastated with a mountain of medical bills. With the blessing of AmmoLand, Crump has put his interviews in book form with never read interviews and content. Some of the interviews included in the book are with TV stars, gun rights activists, and Senators.  Each interview gives the readers an insight into the mind and thinking of the subject. Crump believes by learning about others through asking questions it helps you grow as a person as well as better understanding others.  “I love talking to people and getting their take on Second Amendment, other issues, and just life in general” Crump said. “It allows me to see their point of view on different topics. Sometimes it causes me to question my own opinions. Sometimes it strengthens it. We all are shaped by our experiences in life, and I think it is important that we are allowed to share those events with others around us. I hope that is what this book will do for the readers.” The book covers interviews from the past three years of Crump’s writing career with AmmoLand News. The topics range from Lt. Col. Robert K. Brown starting Soldier of Fortune Magazine to Jason David Frank landing an acting gig as the Green Power Ranger to Tim Kennedy’s search for Hitler on TV.  In addition to the previously published interviews, Crump also includes new interviews with people like Cheryl Todd of Gun Freedom Radio. The book is currently available in paperback for sale on Amazon for $19.95 and preorder in eBook format for $9.95 (free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers).  The eBook will launch on Thursday, July 16th, the same day the first copies of the paperbacks reach the doorstep of the buyers.  All proceeds will go to the family of his niece, Bella.   Learn more: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CP9DJL6/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_4B-cFb45W1P2B 3) Interviewing people for our show is an amazing thing – getting to sit down with people who are Industry Giants, Experts in their field, and impacting the nation’s conversations! What is your driving passion for interviewing the people you do? 4) Covid has cancelled so many things this year – including the GOA’s Gun-A-Thon. Do foresee that being rescheduled in the future? 5) In the intro I mentioned that your work was cited by national News Media. Your work illustrated the failure of gun-control and government overreach specifically in New Jersey. Talk to us about that?

In the midst of a pandemic, sometimes it's good to get some perspective.  There are worse things to have.  For example, AML.  It happens for no known reason, it can kill you in a week, and if it doesn't you're very lucky if you live five more years.  I'll take my chances with COVID-19.  Robert didn't get the choice, being diagnosed with AML 30 years ago.  He's still alive.  So you could call him very unlucky, very lucky, or both.  Either way, the answer is better medicine.  The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society aims for more outcomes like Robert's. www.lls.org/minnesota
