“Joy to the World” Lifestyle and holiday guru, Joy Edwards, built an entire Martha Stewart-esque book empire based on her picture-perfect family. There's only one minor problem - they don't exist. Now her publisher wants her to host a live event from her home on Christmas Eve featuring the fictious family, but not to worry - there are just enough people in her life to pull together a "We're The Millers" sort of solution to keep this charade alive. This Sunday marked the close of our Advent season as we glory in Christ's righteousness, behold the goodness of His work, and marvel at the love of God—seen now in part, but one day fully revealed. Christ has come, and He will come again.
Every Christmas is an opportunity to celebrate that God made a way where there was no way. God sent Jesus to save those that are lost and o bring them home, and because of this, the world can have great joy! Pastor Brandon reminds us that the manger held a baby that was born to die so that we may live. Drawing inspiration from the shepherds in the advent of Jesus, we are shown what it means to love others... and that is to tell others what we know. Ultimately showing that if we know the Way, we should show the Way. - Key Verses // Luke 2:10-18 - For Sermon Notes, the Connect Card, and our other online resources: https://linktr.ee/Celebrationchurchlive
What if the joy you've been searching for isn't found in circumstances—but in discovering the purpose God had for you before you were even born? ABOUT THE MESSAGEIn Part 3 of the Joy series, Pastor Mark Stermer reminds us that Joy often comes through pain, purpose, and promise. Just as the anguish of childbirth gives way to overwhelming joy, God brought great joy to all people through the birth of Jesus Christ. This message traces the joy announced by angels, fulfilled in Christ, and mirrored in our own lives as we discover that every person is born with divine purpose. Before you were formed, God knew you; before you lived a day, He designed you for His glory. In a world that pressures us to be someone else, we're reminded to be who God uniquely created us to be—living for Him, not ourselves. Come be refreshed by the joy that comes from knowing you were born on purpose, for a purpose! In the 1950s, caller Joy’s dad painted the ceiling of her bedroom navy blue, covered it in glowing stars, and gifted her a telescope! Thousands flock to Downey for the annual masa pilgrimage at the Amapola Market! Another listener recalls his favorite gift as a kid, a BB gun. However, he accidentally shot a bird and felt so bad, to this day he has never picked up a gun, BB or otherwise. Meanwhile Andy and Rahner talk traumatic haircuts from their past and being dumped by their barber! Andy plays listener talkbacks from people who recall their favorite Christmas gifts when they were kids. One caller said we mustn’t encourage greed, which Rahner refers to as toy shaming. Media was so much cooler back in the midcentury. In 1996, what was the hottest Christmas gift? Of course it was Tickle Me Elmo! Others that followed include Buzz Lightyear, Tamagotchi, Furbies, Beanie Babies and Bratz Dolls. And now we have the Labubu. Andy rounds out the show by chatting with a GI Joe collector.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This sermon explores the profound distinction between fleeting happiness and everlasting biblical joy, which is rooted in the arrival of Jesus Christ rather than favorable life circumstances. By weaving together scriptural passages and celebratory hymns, the text structures its message around the divine announcement that God has entered human history to offer redemption and strength to all people. The primary purpose of the message is to invite readers to prepare their hearts for this presence, suggesting that true joy is an abiding spiritual reality that can coexist with pain and uncertainty. Ultimately, the source serves as a theological call to find hope in salvation and to recognize that Christ's presence provides a lasting peace that the world cannot provide or destroy.

We all know and love Joy to the World as a classic Christmas carol — but did you know it wasn't originally written for Christmas? And it's not in Handel's Messiah either! In this episode, I share the fascinating history behind one of our most familiar hymns, how it's connected (and not connected) to Handel, and how its message points forward to something in the future, not just back to the past.
Joy to the World, the Lord is come, let earth receive her king.We sing those words every Christmas, but did you know those lyrics are not about when Jesus came into this world? Not the first time, anyway. That's a song about the Second Coming of Christ- when Jesus returns to take over as King of the World, when for a thousand years He rules the world with truth and grace. We're gonna learn about what we can expect when Jesus comes back today on the God and His Prophets podcast.Watch these episodes at my Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@LukeTaylorPodcastsNeed to get in touch with me? Why is Joy to the World the most sung Christmas hymn—even though it isn't really about Christmas? In this message from Psalm 98, we're invited to worship the King in the tension of the already and the not yet. As we remember what Christ has done, rejoice in who He is, and long for what is to come, we discover that Christmas isn't just nostalgia—it's anticipation. A call to sing, to hope, and to worship the returning King.“Joy To the World is a sermon based on Psalm 98 preached by lead pastor Billy Glosson. In Week 3 of our Joy to the World Christmas series, we explore “The Wonders of His Love.” Rooted in Ephesians 3:16–19, discover how God's love moves toward us first, reaches farther than our failures, and brings real change to our hearts and lives.
The nativity scene makes room for the weeping mother, Rachel in Matthew 2. Sometimes joy sounds like a trembling voice saying, “I still believe.” So church—whether you sing through smiles or tears today — lift your eyes. Joy to the world. The Lord has come. The Lord is coming again
This is a special Christmas message with a focus on having the joy of the Lord in all seasons.

How can we delight in God's love? In this last Advent episode, Jacque and Stacy are joined by Micah Harrison as they discuss what it looks like to truly love God and love others. How do we differentiate between the things that we "enjoy" and the things that we "love?" Be encouraged as we wrap us this series that you can both know and experience the love of God and share it joyfully with the world around us.
Jesus offers us true, eternal joy. Joy to the World turns the truths of Psalm 98 into a hymn that proclaims who Christ is and what He offers to the world. So we should respond in one way: with joy!
Who is this Savior, this King of Heaven, this baby born in a manger? What difference does His birth make in the midst of all the things our lives entail? What miracle is required for us to grasp the extent of His love?As we enter into our Christmas celebrations, let us remember what Joy it is that our Lord has come and that He rules the world with truth and grace and makes the nations prove the glories of His righteousness and wonders of His love!Prepare for this week's teaching by reading Luke 2:1-7 with Colossians 1:15-23 & Hebrews 1:3For your continued pursuit, utilize our Advent Reflections each week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
