HEY! ITS SEASON 2 of the 12 Pack Podcast! Welcome to Episode 50! This week there is a decent chunk of wrestling talk this week, which is kicked off with Jared's sadness over Scrap Iron Adam Pearce not being involved in the title match at the Royal Rumble. We dive into an under rated and over rated segment for a bunch of wrestlers. The news segment takes a weird turn when a Cop is thought to be a stripped and told that he "makes a lady hot". We take a few moments towards the end of the show to talk about how elated we are as Browns fans to finally have a good season, and a season that goes into the playoffs! Join us this week for the start of season two! (Also AJ really grosses Jared out in the Question segment of the show, and gets a good reaction out of him)
There is so much hype for NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis. Beyond a shadow of a doubt his impact in the NWA will be felt for generations to come. We don't get to the NWA POWERRR era without "The National Treasure." But remember, we don't get to Nick Aldis without getting to what kept the NWA relevant. Tim Storm, Jax Dane, Rob Conway, Satoshi Kojima, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, all on the backs of the men before them, including "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce. Aldi's first run as NWA Champion was nearly flawless. But I wouldn't call Nick Aldis the greatest NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion of all time. I wouldn't even call him the greatest champion in the last twenty years. New Merch Alert: https://streamlabs.com/theallianceblog1/merch/2001413 Inspired by the #NWAShowcase, designed by heyitswil , these will be on special through the end of the year. $16.00 sizes larger than $2 more for 2XL, $3 for 3XL. “I’m not a star David Marquez… I’m a legend,” was echoed during the “1 Hour Interview Special with the Worlds Champion” on KDOC-TV. And although we are only one week removed from the one-hour special with “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce, there are many unanswered questions we have for the Worlds Champion. No stranger to Alliance Radio, this will make the 4th appearance of the three time reigning NWA World Champion has been our guest on the show. When we catch up with the Adam he will be returning from his most recent NWA World Title defense in Canada for WFX Wrestling and preparing for his match-up with “Boom Boom” Colt Cabana for NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood. When you are the Worlds Champion, there is no such thing as a day off. Pearce spent the week previous in Atlanta and the week before that in Mexico. When we catch up with Adam we’ll be talking about his past few weeks of action across North America, his appearance for WFX Wrestling, the much talked about NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and his showdown with Colt Cabana. And we’ll take your calls too! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theallianceblog/support
Eight years ago "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce defeated former NWA Jr. Heavyweight Champion Jimmy Rave, then National Champion Chance Prophet, and then North American Champion Shaun Tempers in a four way match to fill the vacant NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship in Columbus Ohio at the Ohio State Fair. You can watch the match here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1qymXPaDME&fbclid=IwAR2tN4fPHONwJWA62AVn0WLqQhVBapNfAPGO7LI8LRrptjZNeFUy0r7Zh9s Despite the animosity the duo had for each other, a match between Adam Pearce and the Sheik could have legitimately launched the authentic era some eight years before David Lagana coined the phrase. So why didn't the match happen? In this episode of Jay Cal's View I take a look back at the events that led up to the change in the originally billed match. And what it means to the NWA because of it. Please visit www.alliance-wrestling.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theallianceblog/support
This week is one of Todd's favourite interviews from 2014 with former 5 time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce. Pearce is one of the most knowledgable, humble men in the business and his motto of "Work Hard, Treat People Fairly & Earn Respect" have served him well as he is now a WWE Producer. We covered so much in this interview and its one we are very proud of here at WRA. 10 years after Willie Mack challenged "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship title, he gets a golden opportunity at Ring of Honor's "Death Before Dishonor" Television Taping. Willie Mack is a superior professional since his last opportunity. Take a listen for thoughts on "Chocolate Thunder" and an interview I did with Willie Mack in 2012. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theallianceblog/support
