We're back with another “Ask Adam Anything” episode and today's topic is something culture often overlooks: rest. While busyness is celebrated and productivity is praised, Emily and I talk about how true renewal comes when we step back and embrace rhythms of rest. On the flip side, many people think they're overworked and burned out - when it turns out they might just be bored! Work is a gift from God and we should do it with purpose!  Friends, if you've ever felt worn out by the constant go-go-go of life, this episode is for you. In this episode, we sit down with Michael Lamprell — founder of CABN, the off-grid escape reshaping how Australians connect with nature and themselves. Michael opens up about the reality behind a seemingly successful life in global sales and marketing — and the internal struggles that pushed him to make a change. A trip to Harvard and a book on minimalism planted the seed for something different: a simpler, slower, more intentional way of living. We trace Michael’s journey from the first CABN in the Adelaide Hills to a growing movement in regenerative tourism. He shares the lessons learned, the impact on guests and local communities, and why balance is the new luxury. I’m all about working hard — always have been. But I also know what burnout feels like, and why it’s just as important to stop, recharge, and reconnect with what really matters. That’s what CABN is all about. What happens when your lifelong dream shatters at 22—and you've got no Plan B? In this raw and real conversation, Matt sits down with Damon Lembi, former pro baseball player turned CEO of Learnit, to explore how identity, leadership, and imposter syndrome collide in high-stakes moments. Damon unpacks the four-step framework he built to overcome self-doubt—Label Your Fear, Work Hard, Practice Deliberately, Learn and Let Go—and shares how it's helped him evolve from hitting home runs in the College World Series to upskilling over 2 million professionals globally. With vulnerability, grit, and a healthy dose of humility, Damon reveals how failing publicly, receiving tough feedback, and embracing setbacks have been the fuel behind his leadership journey. Whether you're a CEO, entrepreneur, or ambitious professional, this episode is your playbook for turning adversity into mastery—and doing it with integrity.Chapters:00:00:00 - Kicking Off with Eternal Optimism00:00:29 - Meet Damon Lembi: From Dugout to Boardroom00:01:28 - Baseball Dreams, Big Setbacks00:05:28 - When Self-Doubt Takes the Mound00:10:04 - The 4 Steps That Saved My Confidence00:16:03 - From Receptionist to CEO: Earning It the Hard Way00:23:08 - The Diagnosis That Changed Everything00:23:48 - Losing Vision, Gaining Clarity00:24:37 - Brotherhood, Mentors, and Support That Stuck00:25:01 - Leading with Humility (and Hair Gel)00:28:06 - Why Podcasting and Connection Fuel Growth00:32:02 - Must-Read Books for Real Leaders00:39:31 - Music, Memories, and the People Who Shape Us00:43:30 - Final Wisdom and a Hopeful SendoffLinks And Resources:WebsiteDamon Lembi on LinkedInThanks so much for joining us this week. Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of The Sunday Shakeout.I am your host, Nicholas, and today on the show is my teammate and one of my best friends: Nash Howard. This dude is a stud. He's only a sophomore, and he's already run 2:02 for 800, 4:21 for 1600, 9:26 for 3200, and 16:14 for the cross country 5K. Yeah… the guy's legit.Nash is one of the most down-to-earth, real, and raw guys I've ever met, a beacon of wisdom and interesting takes. If you've been following the pod, you might remember that Nash and I did a chill Friday night episode a few months back. That one was lighthearted and super fun, but today's conversation goes way deeper. We talk about everything: from season highlights like dropping a 9-second PR in the 3200 at districts the day after getting diagnosed with asthma, to that electric 4:21 mile under the lights. We also dive into his journey in the sport, the meaning behind his mantra “work hard, have fun,” the realities of going pro, and so much more.At the end of the day, this is just two dudes geeking out over the sport we love—and if you're into that, this one's for you. Please, before we get into this episode, if you haven't already, then please, wherever you are, in your car, at work, on a run, give this podcast a follow and a five-star review on whatever platform you are listening on. That goes a long way in supporting the growth of The Sunday Shakeout so that I can keep bringing to you some of the greatest stories in the sport of running and in that process, share love and passion for track and field and distance running.Without further delay, please enjoy my conversation, with Nash Howard.

Every time you read a verse that says “But God,” it is great news that follows. When those two small one-syllable words team up, extraordinary things happen. To the left of ‘But God' in the Bible appears some of the worst human atrocities, characterized by disobedience, rebellion, hopelessness, darkness, and death. But to the right of the words ‘But God,' readers of scripture will find hope, light, life and new beginnings. We have all said some things are impossible. But Got says all things are possible. Join us in this 8-week study as we examine some of the most famous “but God” statements found in His word!

Whether you've been coasting in your walk with God or wondering what it looks like to actually live on mission, this is your wake-up call. It's not about checking the Sunday box. It's about showing up for what really matters—serving, sacrificing, and shining the light of Jesus wherever you go. So buckle up, grab your work boots (and maybe a tissue), and lean in. Theresa Glomb is a business professor at the University of Minnesota. She researches the role of mood at work, and has identified several simple, micro-interventions that can improve our working lives. Theresa has published her research in top management and psychology journals and been covered in media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and Huffington Post.  Theresa received a PhD in social, organizational, and individual differences psychology from the University of Illinois and a BA in psychology from DePaul University.  In this episode we discuss the following: To help us work hard, Theresa suggests we “park downhill.” Each day, as we finish work, we can queue up the thing we need to work on first the next day, which can help us hit the ground running. To help us have fun, we can reflect, each night, on the good things we did at work. The negative tends to be stronger than the positive, but by creating an “I did list” each night, we can improve our mood and even our health.  By being present throughout the day, for example, while walking to a meeting, we not only improve our attention quotient, but also can improve our relationships with others. Though work can often feel like we're digging a hole in water, Theresa provides great tools to reframe and restructure our days: work hard, have fun, choose kind, be present.    Connect on Social Media: X: https://twitter.com/nate_meikle LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/natemeikle/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nate_meikle/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@nate.meikle
