About this episode:  It was a Wednesday, August 11, 1880 and some 5000 Union veterans gathered at the Ohio State Fair. President Rutherford B. Hayes had just finished a speech when another was called for. The next speaker was tall, sinewy and long in the neck. His head was large and his face a regular nest of wrinkles. Often animated and mercurial in temperament, on this day, his features expressed determination - especially his mouth. “There is many a boy here today who looks on war as all glory, but boys, it is all hell…” This is the story of that speaker - one who survived charges of insanity. A man who, in the vortex of civil war, bonded with another and the two would eventually bring the Confederacy to its knees. This is the story of William Tecumseh Sherman.         ----more---- Some Characters Mentioned In This Episode: Thomas Ewing Ellen Ewing Sherman Robert Anderson John Sherman Henry Halleck P. G. T. A fatality is such a rare event at a theme park or fair, we could only find 17 deaths in Ohio over the course of 150 years. But when tragedy strikes, it is often made all the more chilling because it always comes when people are in the midst of having carefree fun. In this episode, we revisit the worst days at Kings Island, Cedar Point, the Ohio State Fair and local county fairs. www.ohiomysteries.com feedback@ohiomysteries.com www.patreon.com/ohiomysteries www.twitter.com/mysteriesohio www.facebook.com/ohiomysteries Additional music: New Horizon - Aderin; Audionautix- The Great Unknown; The Great Phospher- Daniel Birch Learn more about your ad choices. New location and Danna and Kristin switched sides for podcasting .Twisters, power outages and lots of down trees. That can't stop these two from podcasting.  Kristin survived the Ohio State Fair and a trip to Ohio Military Kids Camp today on Kelly's Island. They got off the island before they shut down the ferry.  Kids are busy in school activities but tomorrow due to no power there are no activities.  Danna has been busy interviewing teens to work at the Market and Farm. Some of the answers these kids give are entertaining. Teens hobby's these day are interesting.  Also starting fires is probably not something you put on your resume. Kristin shares some simple interview tips.  Question Time. You have to listen to what question was asked and people's answers.  There is a new scarecrow in town. Mr. Pumpkin Head will be on display at the Market.  Danna shares her big announcement, she's been out in a real pickle.  The podcast cuts off rather abruptly because Kristin hit the wrong button.   Get Social with Danna and Kristin ! @localfarmmom | @dannageraci183 | @themismatchedpodcast on  Instagramhttps://youtube.com/@themismatchedpodcast4078 (https://youtube.com/@themismatchedpodcast4078) Thanks so  much for listening to this episode of our podcast.
