They criticized Acclaim for simply reusing and reskinning the WWE Attitude game rather than creating a unique ECW experience, leading to poor reviews and disappointment among fans. The game featured button combinations for moves, terrible graphics, and a basic career mode, while Acclaim's subsequent game, Anarchy Rules, was similarly lackluster. Despite the initial success of Acclaim's WWE games, Hardcore Revolution failed to capture the same magic, and Acclaim eventually went out of business in 2004, with its assets being acquired by THQ   Acclaim's Revival and Gaming Future Jefry and Scott discussed the revival of Acclaim Entertainment in 2025, led by Russell Binder, Mark Kaplan, and wrestler Jeff Jarrett, with Alex Joseph appointed as CEO. They reviewed Acclaim's announcement of nine indie games, including "Katu" and "Basketball Classics," and reflected on Acclaim's past wrestling games, criticizing them for reusing the same engine and not innovating despite competition. Scott and Jefry also shared their disappointment with the ECW Hardcore Revolution game, noting its generic music, poor character animations, and lack of innovation compared to other wrestling games of the time.
