Welcome back to Film Joy for a bonus episode where Billy and I talk about the recent event, DC Fandome. This event took place on Saturday, August 22nd. Since Billy and I both have kids, we weren’t able to participate in this event as much we would have liked. That said, it was a lot of fun and we’re both excited for what DC has on the horizon. It was a opportunity to take a look at some new movie trailers, video games, watch actor/director panels, and overall to just get a feel of what’s ahead for DC entertainment. If you missed it, no worries. A lot of this content can be found on YouTube.

When his father, hotel magnate Brian Madison (Darren McGavin), becomes fed up with his son’s irresponsible ways, he issues an ultimatum. Since Billy passed all his schooling thanks to his father’s influence and bribes, he must retake and pass every grade in twenty-four weeks. Again With This: Beverly Hills, 90210 & Melrose Place

Since Billy and Amanda are refusing to ignore their own happiness and quit dating so that Alison won't be uncomfortable around them, Alison is challenged to search her feelings about the matter and determine the real reason it bugs her so much that Billy is seeing Amanda. When Alison requests a formal meeting to discuss their relationship and then gets a dozen red roses at work with an unsigned card from an admirer who wants to meet her at Shooters, of course she assumes that it's Billy, finally ready to make a big declaration. But no! It's Keith. Now that he's fully divorced (or...so he says) (again), he's ready to pick back up where he and Alison left off, but is also content to start at the beginning again to rebuild trust. At least he's not going to have to do much double dating with Billy and Amanda, since they bothcan't stand him, and would rather spend time alone at Amanda's bachelorette pad anyway. Jake is so happy with the current state of his life that he forgets he's a character on a TV show and says so out loud, triggering his boss to lay him off ahead of a bank foreclosure of the whole shop. But there may be a way out: a five-figure divorce settlement Jo wants to invest in Jake starting the shop up again under his own management. Will Jake be able to quit pouting about being a "charity case" long enough to let Jo help him make his dream come true? We discuss it all in our podcast on "My New Partner"! Master Chef Semi-Finalists Went On To Follow Their Cooking Dreams In Covent Garden & Beyond

What do you get when you mix two ‘semi-fit’ Mater Chef finalists with a passion for good food, good fun and good causes? Since Billy and Jack achieved fame in this iconic TV cookery show in 2016, they have gone on to create sell out supper clubs in Covent Garden, and work with leading brands such as Google, Lidl and Ketel One. However, it’s not all been a bed of roses—as Billy suffered a major setback when diagnosed with a potentially life limiting illness in 2017. This then is their story so far. “Literally the first day you go in there you’re thrust on camera and you have to cook—there’s no preamble.” [6:36] In order to get onto Master Chef (at the time) all Billy and Jack needed to do was fill out a pdf form and send it off to the producers. They waited a few months, got a call out of the blue, and after a few rounds of answering intense questions about cooking—they have you in for a test to see how you perform on camera. Next thing they knew, Billy and Jack were tossed into the mix for what would be their season of Master Chef—making it all the way to the top three. [17:13] The time pressure Master Chef places on its contestants is no joke. Billy and Jack note that the hardest part of the competition was having to cook on camera in a high stress environment, then plunge right back into their day job. In their free time, both of the chefs practiced on their own time—doing an insane amount of prep work and training to prepare themselves for the show. It was about the equivalent of obtaining a university degree in cooking over the course of a few months. So—when you see a contestant cry or break down on camera, know that they are at the end of their tether, completely washed out having given it all they have. “I cooked probably 4 or five nights a week until about midnight or one o’clock in the morning—for three months.” After bonding on the show and making it into the final three, Billy and Jack still wanted to pursue cooking outside the competition. They received tons of requests from fans who wanted to eat their food. So, three years ago Billy and Jack started their Supper Club—a monthly restaurant takeover of their own devising. They create unique menus and take over restaurants for a night to deliver exquisite dining experiences. Their next Dinner Club will be at Boki in London’s Seven Dials: which you can get a ticket for right here (https://www.designmynight.com/london/restaurants/shoreditch/iron-bloom/the-master-bakers-supper-club-in-support-of-cruk?t=tickets) . Guest Billy Hofacker joins us on The Transformation Show to discuss his amazing financial transformation. He and his wife pulled themselves out of crushing 6-figure debt and transformed their lives. After overcoming so much self-imposed hardship he realized that he wanted to give back to others and help change lives. Since Billy worked in the fitness industry for a number of years he was able to use his experience coaching to create a coaching program to help others gain financial freedom. Listen to Billy’s story and learn how you can transform your own finances right now on The Transformation Show. Outline of This Episode [1:22] How did Billy get into 6 figures of non-mortgage debt without even realizing it? [6:17] What do you do once you realize that you are in that much debt? [9:35] Billy created an 8 step program [14:20] Develop a giving mindset [16:07] Take an inventory [18:40] Create a spending plan [21:46] Learn to expect the unexpected [23:49] Debt snowball [26:53] Investments [30:30] How to be happy in the now [35:20] What is the biggest thing he has learned through this? How did Billy Hofacker get into 6 figures of non-mortgage debt without even realizing it? It dawned on Billy that he was in financial trouble only after the repo man knocked on his door as his 2008 Honda Accord was being towed away. This was just the beginning of his financial problem. He and his wife weren’t living a lavish lifestyle, but somehow they managed to rack up debt into the high 6 figures. There was no one thing that drove him into this kind of debt. It was simply cluelessness followed by bad choices. Life was overwhelming and he just wasn’t paying attention. What do you do once you realize that you are in that much debt? The car repo was just the beginning of the nightmare, but it finally brought their money problems to their attention. Billy and his wife were scared and angry. Billy felt like carrying the financial burden was like having a noose around his neck. He and his wife both realized that they needed to implement a big change in their lives. It took them a while to get on the same page and work toward a common goal together. Their financial transformation took an enormous amount of hard work and suffering and it really affected their marriage. Thankfully, they came out on top with a strong bond after working so hard for so long to achieve their financial transformation. Billy’s 8-step financial transformation program changed his life After triumphing over his all-consuming debt, Billy realized that he could help others transform their lives. He created this 8-step program that he used to share with the world. Creating a vision is the first step. Like all goals, you have to understand what you are working towards. Without vision, you won’t know how to get to where you want to go. Develop a giving first mindset. This tricky step can be a challenge to those that are already pinched financially. But living with gratitude and helping others creates more happiness and a better life. When you give in the ways that you can, abundance flows back to you. Take an inventory. You need to get an assessment of where you’re actually starting from. Take your assets and subtract from your liabilities to learn where you really stand. Create a spending plan. Billy doesn’t call it a budget since that can be a scary word for some people. He also calls it a financial freedom plan. Be specific, the more you dial in your spending plan, the faster the transformation. Learn to expect the unexpected events. Unexpected events shouldn’t be unexpected. Everyone knows that bad things happen. Tires blow out, water heaters break, someone gets appendicitis. When you expect the unexpected your plan doesn’t come completely derailed. Get intentional about debt. Create a debt snowball to build momentum. Have fun with investments. Once you have become debt-free you can have fun with investments. This allows you to really be able to focus your energy on your investments without the worry of debt on your shoulders. Enjoy the process and reward yourself along the way. Remember that happiness is not the destination. You must find joy in the journey. Learn how Billy’s financial transformation changed not just his life, but the lives of his entire family. He shares the important lessons that he learned on his journey to financial freedom on this episode of The Transformation Show.
