At Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, 41-year-old Ayman Mohamed Ghazali, a Lebanese-born naturalized U.S. citizen, allegedly rammed a truck into the building near the early childhood center, breached doors, drove down a hallway, and engaged in gunfire with security officers, who shot him. No children or synagogue members were killed or seriously injured. Separately, at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, 36-year-old Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a former Virginia Army National Guard member previously convicted and imprisoned for attempting to provide material support to ISIS, entered a classroom during an ROTC session, shouted "Allahu Akbar," and opened fire, killing one and injuring two others.
