Continuamos con nuestros Especiales Navidad. Esta noche tenemos nuestro segundo volumen de los especiales Navidad Atmósfera, es complicado, porque, siguiendo nuestro orden cronológico, abordamos el programa del 22 de marzo en el que teníamos previsto y ya elaborado, nuestro programa especial habitual de cada año con el adelanto del festival LEV, pero la pandemia lo anuló todo. En su lugar ese primer programa de pandemia, que tuvimos que hacer desde casa, lo dedicamos a las voces femeninas. El programa siguiente, el del 29 de marzo, y muchos otros más, Atmósfera se sumó a la lucha contra el Coronavirus ofreciéndoos una serie de programas muy especiales hechos desde casa para los que pedimos a artistas cercanos a Atmósfera que nos enviasen dos de sus tracks favoritos (suyos o de otros artistas) y una reflexión sobre la situación de crisis que estamos viviendo. Muchos fueron los que se quisieron sumar a esta iniciativa, tantos que realizamos dos programas con todas estas colaboraciones. En nuestro primer programa contamos con Javier Piñango, Ana Béjar, Suso Saiz, Niet!, Iury Lech, Franck Vigroux, Menhir, Yamila, Carlos Suero, Jose Enrique Pulido y Alwin Van Der Linde. Escuchamos una amplia selección en nuestro segundo volumen especial navidad Atmósfera de ellos. The new mixtape comes from the hand of SPIME.Im, a Turin-based media art collective formed by Marco Casolati, Davide Tomat and Gabriele Ottino. Their practice that aims to investigate, through transmedia projects, the aesthetics and the languages derived from the affirmation of digital reality. The collective includes musicians, video makers, creative coders and engineers, with all these different backgrounds having a large impact on their creative process when developing new works. Spime is a concept that defines the internet of things. Spimes are objects that know how to talk to each other. A concept that was coined and refined by Bruce Sterling; he first imagined spimes as an extension of RFID tags, where a physical organization of things could be representative of an also intangible web of things. By juxtaposing Bruce Sterling’s «spime» concept with «I am», SPIME.IM is the being that is intertwined between the artificial and the natural, with they work representing human-machine interactions in sound, moving image and generative graphics. In their audio-visual 360° live show «EXALAND», te collective interweave sound and image, letting sound parameters influence what manifests on-screen, and treating the camera perspective as an instrument. We use technology, 3D art and electronic music to create immersive audiovisual experiences, in which we explore the boundaries of identity, and question what is real and what is not, what is happening around us and what our collective experience as a society could be instead. SPIMES.IM have recently published a new album ZERO, and an extrapolation of their debut EXALAND. Glitches, hypercharged synthesisers, and some machine funk as they define their sound, providing a soundtrack for the Zero times. Abbiamo conosciuto SPIME.IM la scorsa primavera, quando a Maggio uscì il video di Exaland V, il primo singolo estratto dal loro album d’esordio Exaland, pubblicato dall’etichetta svizzera OUS. Il video, diretto da Gabriele Ottino, era davvero incredibile. Così, quando abbiamo letto la line-up di Club to Club Festival di quest’anno e abbiamo visto che i ragazzi si sarebbero esibiti sabato al Lingotto sul light over darkness stage, abbiamo fatto il possibile per metterci in contatto con loro.
