I have been there since May 2021, was promoted once, and have never received a negative annual or quarterly review (ranging from a rating of Significant Impact to Outstanding Impact). I have been worried for a long time about the development of artificial intelligence, as can be seen by many of my posts on this website. I believe that above human intelligence AI may well have the motive and means to wipe out humanity, and that developing AI is the most consequential thing that people have ever done. It is imperative we tread slowly and carefully, but right now top AI labs are racing to get there as fast as they can, which is likely to lead to disaster. When 60,000 people rushed the land and water borders of Spanish territory, specifically Ceuta, Socialists and Muslims were immediately blamed. But it was also obvious that some other factor was behind the invasion, which reportedly dwindled to only 10,000 when the rest returned to Morocco. A few weeks prior, both President Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu had threatened Spain; the former did so over Spain's refusal to back the war against Iran; the latter over Spain's criticism of Israel's handling of Palestine. In 2019, Yair Netanyahu was encouraging Arabs and Muslims to invade and conquer Ceuta instead of voicing concern about Palestine. In May of 2026, Yair was comparing Ceuta to Gaza, adding that the Jews would make a deal with Spain: they won't fund NGOs and Spain won't comment on Judea and Samaria. After the invasion, Danny Danon, Israel's UN Ambassador, told Spain to deal with their own colonialism and the resulting Muslim invasion rather than being concerned with Israel and Palestine. Hananya Naftali, an Israeli media influencer, sarcastically called on Spain to adopt a two-state solution and ceasefire with the invaders (there were no exchanges of gunfire). The Mossad International account shared images of anti-Israel protests in Spain coupled with those of the invasion, underhandedly sewing the two together and telling the Spanish president to resign. Ben Gvir, Israel's National Security Minister, sarcastically congratulated the Spanish and added that since the country supports Gaza, they should also open their own borders and let all those refugees pour into the country in the name of  diversity. The United States had a documented hand in funding the invasion, with a recent piece of legislation authorizing $40,000,000 to help Morocco reclaim Ceuta and Melilla. But Combat Antisemitism, and all the Israeli bots and influencers, defended themselves by claiming that the noticing of these patterns was simply antisemitic Jew hatred, especially the fact that the Jews helped Muslims invade the Iberian Peninsula in 711 AD too. OpenAI recently announced that one of their models successfully exploited multiple zero day vulnerabilities to gain secret information from Hugging Face. It has been pointed out that if a human undertook the same actions they could face multiple years in prison. It is clear that models are now reaching a level of capabilities that should be highly concerning regardless of whether you believe that AI represents an existential threat or not. Frontier AI models can and will be exploited by bad actors, but its now clear that they may cause undesirable outcomes even when their users are well intended. AI companies have until now been able to avoid taking responsibility for actions taken by their AI, including multiple cases where AIs were involved in murders and suicides. At the same time AI offers the potential for incredible good. Rabbi Yirmia challenged this testimony, suggesting various reasons why Rabbi Meir might have eaten the leaf without realizing it was untithed or why it might have actually been tithed. In response, Rabbi Zeira argued that if God protects the animals of the righteous from inadvertent sin, then God certainly protects the righteous themselves. The Gemara recounts the story of Rabbi Pinchas ben Yair's donkey, which refused to eat untithed produce, to support Rabbi Zeira's assertion. This episode is part of a larger narrative regarding Rabbi Pinchas ben Yair's journey to redeem captives: the first part describes him splitting a river to cross; the middle section concerns the donkey's refusal to eat; and the final part involves Rabbi Yehuda Hanasi inviting him to dine, an invitation he ultimately declined. Note the Gemara's initial focus on how a sage isn't going to change his mind -- with various interpretations of the Hebrew term used here to note that he won't be dissuaded. Back to Beit She'an - it all goes to the human consecration (and re-consecration) of the land as essential to the holiness that results in land-based mitzvot, and the decisions made for the sake of the local poor. Pinchas ben Yair being able to split the river (for easier passage) - and with allusions to the splitting of the Red Sea -because of his own stance that it should - and God granted the miracle. Plus, Rabbi Hanina's statement that any injury or suffering in this world was decreed on high - with all the accompanying theological conundrum.

La pratique de la boxe dans une école d'un quartier défavorisé de la capitale mexicaine aide les jeunes adolescents à s'en sortir. De notre correspondante à Mexico, La voiture grimpe péniblement la côte jusqu'à un petit terrain où se garer. Quelques mètres plus bas, la route bétonnée s'arrête devant l'école David Paul Ausubel, où un ouvrier pose des pavés. Yair Ruiz, pédagogue et fondateur du collectif « Boxeo por la Paz » (« Boxe pour la paix »), vient chaque jour sur les hauteurs de Chimalhuacán donner volontairement un entraînement de boxe aux collégiens. « Bonjour prof ! », il est reçu avec enthousiasme par la quinzaine de jeunes âgés de 11 à 17 ans qui étudient là, tous niveaux confondus, dans une petite pièce où s'infiltrent la poussière et la lumière. « La porte doit rester ouverte, car nous n'avons pas d'électricité, explique l'enseignante Karin Pache Bautista, même si le bruit des travaux dans la rue distrait les élèves ». La petite école est située sur le flanc d'une montagne qui borde l'État de Mexico. L'est de la capitale mexicaine s'étend en contrebas, mais ce quartier où près de 70 % de la population vit en situation de pauvreté et où le sentiment d'insécurité est très fort se trouve à la marge. Boxer pour étudier Les après-midis, Yair Ruiz prend le relais de la classe traditionnelle avec des cours de boxe, pour autant, « le but n'est pas de former des boxeurs ». Depuis 2023, ce sport sert avant tout à retenir l'attention des jeunes de cette école et à éviter le décrochage scolaire : « On se concentre sur la boxe, mais il ne s'agit pas seulement de donner des coups, les jeunes doivent étudier pour garantir leur avenir. » Boxeo por la Paz est un projet communautaire, porté par quelques bénévoles, sans aucun soutien des pouvoirs publics. « Je n'avais jamais vu une école comme celle-ci, confie Araceli Tellez, mère d'élève, qui apprécie les effets de la méthode sur son fils. Christopher est très réservé, mais depuis qu'il fréquente la classe, il est plus motivé. Et surtout, il aime y aller. » Gants de boxe aux poignets, l'adolescent confirme son goût pour le sport et le fait d'« apprendre à se défendre ». Pour l'avenir, il promet vouloir « continuer à étudier » afin de devenir chirurgien. « Prenez de l'élan et ne regardez pas l'obstacle, ne laissez pas la peur vous arrêter ! », crie l'entraîneur dans la cour. Karin Pache Bautista, qui regarde ses élèves s'échauffer en sautant un parcours improvisé à partir de larges tubes en PVC, assure « qu'ils s'amusent et que cela aide beaucoup l'aspect pédagogique ». La jeune étudiante en psychologie apporte son soutien à l'école en focalisant son attention sur « les jeunes qui ne savent toujours ni lire ni écrire ». L'adolescente aux cheveux teints en rouge regarde son amie frapper avec énergie les gants d'un autre camarade : « Même quand elle se fatigue ou qu'elle prend un coup qui lui fait mal, sa volonté ne diminue pas. » Une fois l'exercice terminé, Jana, 13 ans, s'approche avec un grand sourire : « La boxe m'a beaucoup servi, si tu as des problèmes à la maison, tu peux les décharger ici. » La jeune fille, coiffée d'un nœud blanc, s'illustre parmi les meilleures élèves de la classe. « Le Maître Yair veut que l'on sache se défendre dans une situation dangereuse si le dialogue ne fonctionne pas.
