In this episode, we are presented with a Michael Burnham who has settled into some kind of routine on the Discovery and it is revealed that the Federation is winning the war against the Klingons because of this singularly extraordinary ship. Then, what seems like an unusual but routine spotting of an endangered species, called a Gormegander (space Whale) triggers a bizarre series of events involving none other than Harry Mudd, who has obtained a device that uses time crystals to repeat 30 minutes over and over again so that he can unlock the secrets of the the Discovery’s spore drive and sell it to the Klingons. Fortunately for the crew Lt. Stamets is immune to the effects because of his melding with the Tardigrade and after many attempts is able to help the crew (through Michael Burnham) thwart Harry Mudd’s plan. Ganz klassisches Star Trek oder abgedrehter Quatsch? Was genau möchte uns "Magic makes the sanest man go mad" eigentlich zeigen?
