PRAYER MEETING SERMON We continue our series on the Beatitudes and we open up the fourth - -Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness- for they shall be filled-. Christ pronounces a blessing on those who find themselves craving for righteousness as though they would have it or perish. This is a grace that not all possess and is a true blessing, for they shall be filled with what they crave. Those who have it will look to Christ for justification and sanctification. In addition, we are called to examine what we crave - to see if it is righteousness, in the case that we are found hypocrites. Matthew 5-6.

The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 5: Blessed Are They Which Do Hunger And Thirst After Righteousness by Shawn Ozbun
Jesus taught the people in the Sermon on the Mount, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." In part 2 of the series focused on the Preach My Gospel missionary manual, we look at the section titled “How Do I Study Effectively and Prepare to Teach?" This episode focuses on increasing our desire for learning and seeking sacred knowledge through the Holy Ghost.
Sin distorts our appetites, desires and loves, which results in us, like Adam and Eve, taking the wrong fruit. The remedy to that is taking the correct fruit, the body of Christ that hung on the cross for our sins. That death, which makes it possible to be restored back into all proper relationships.--To hear more messages from The Image Church, subscribe to our podcast or YouTube channel. [00:30] Fox News Covers Election Steal (28 minutes) After refraining from discussing the election steal for 18 months, Tucker Carlson finally interviewed True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht on his show to discuss how the radical left stole the 2020 election. Though he never mentioned Dinesh D'Souza's 2,000 Mules documentary, Tucker Carlson did say at the end of his segment that “we need to be absolutely certain we know what happened in 2020.” Based on the evidence from True the Vote, we can be. [28:40] 2,000 Mules Gaining Attention (12 minutes)Donald Trump premiered 2,000 Mules at his resort in Mar-a-Lago Wednesday night to help publicize evidence of the 2020 election steal. At his rally in Pennsylvania tonight—where over 1,000 mules were caught trafficking ballots on video—Mr. Trump plans to show the documentary again. The election steal finally seems to be getting the attention it deserved from the very beginning. [40:40] Bible Study: Hunger and Thirst After Righteousness (14 minutes)In His sermon on the Mount of Olives, Jesus Christ admonished His disciples to hunger and thirst after righteousness, and that if they would do so, they would be spiritually filled! Martin Luther was a tormented soul. He practiced self-harm for religious purposes because he thought he had to stop sinning in order to be acceptable to God. He punished his body by sleeping on the bare floor of his room, without blankets, even in the bone-chilling cold of German winter. And sometimes he would lie out in the snow for long periods. He fasted to the point of emaciation and he would beat himself with a whip. He began every day before 2 AM and prayed seven times a day. Martin was looking for something that all of us, even in our modern world, are looking for. Jesus calls us to hunger and thirst after righteousness. He takes two of life's most basic needs to express to us the importance of us yearning after, not actions and works but after Jesus Himself!
Righteousness is one of the key ideas in the Sermon on the Mount: Matthew 5:10 – “Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness.” Matthew 5:20 – “Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven.” (Followed by a string of teachings about righteousness, specifically having to do with commandments regarding murder, adultery, divorce, oaths, revenge, and loving enemies.) Matthew 6:1 – “Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Righteousness is a matter of the heart. Righteousness is not just about behaving the right way. Righteousness is also about wanting to live the right way. Righteousness is having every fiber of our being tuned to the right ways of God. Perhaps the best way of defining righteousness is: to be like Jesus himself. At some point, we realize that this righteousness is unattainable on our own strength, on our own merit, on our own determination. We come to Jesus – poor in spirit, mourning over our sins, recognizing our need to submit with meekness to Christ as Lord of our life. We come, hungering and thirsting for a righteousness that we could never produce in and through ourselves.
