Following Chris's pick starring gentle giant Dolph Lundgren, we follow up with Kevin's pick — a South Korean dark comedy and erotic horror film with Song Kang-ho as a priest who makes a radical decision out of selflessness. With plunges into Catholic humility and lustful sins, it's a haphazard and treacherous road to find redemption, and really you'd think those concepts would float our boats, wouldn't it? But as with the ways of the world, it's not that simple. Join the three of us gabbing about this year's second Horror Adjacent™️episode on the grand ol' stagecoach, as its travails bring us over some challenging roads and into a holy man's transformation into a vampire. A man of love for moral purity has become a vampire's lust for blood. Be sure your soul hasn't been corrupted, friends. We won't be responsible! SERMON SUMMARYWe find ourselves in a tension. We read Scripture and encounter people who had wild, transformative experiences with God, yet many of us settle for something less. We develop explanations for the gap between what we read and what we experience, normalizing something that was never meant to be normal. At the Feast of Tabernacles, as thousands gathered to watch the priest pour water on the altar and sing about the coming Spirit, Jesus stood and declared: "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink" (John 7:37-39). He was claiming to be the source of the living water the prophets promised, the one through whom God's Spirit would flow like rivers. The Holy Spirit is not an impersonal force we tap into or a mystical energy reserved for spiritual elites. The Spirit is a person we can grieve, walk with, and keep in step with. We see throughout Acts a distinction between having the Spirit and being filled with the Spirit. There are defining moments of filling, and there's the continuous, daily invitation to be filled again and again. We've polarized into Bible churches and Spirit churches, but these were never meant to be separated. The kingdom operates as both/and: Bible and Spirit, truth and experience, teaching and power. We want to understand what God has said and experience what God is doing. The invitation remains simple: believe, come, and drink. Thirst is honest awareness of need. Jesus promises that rivers of living water will continuously flow from within those who come to him. Our Father in heaven gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask (Luke 11:13).URF WEBSITE: ➤ http://www.urfellowship.comSOCIALS: ➤ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/urfellowship/➤ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/urfellowship
Titled after the Kendrick Lamar feature in the latter portion of the installment, welcome to I'm Dying of Thirst. The newest episode curated by your favorite internet disc jockey, DJ Witwickatron. A hip-hip majority installment starting in the 90's and ending at current features. I do love the Jai Paul demo soundcloud playlist, but outside of that? My favorite portions of this episode would be Wu-Tang's Black Diamonds, Beastie Boys live on David Letterman, Paul Wall Sittin' Sideways on vinyl and the Jay Electronica run featuring the closing stanza of Eternal Sunshine. Boylife in EU by Yung Lean makes me smile as well. I really ended up enjoying this episode, I hope you did the same. In other unrelated news, just yesterday I was lucky enough to give a really nice, beautiful lady a bouquet of roses for the first time in my life. Peachy, dusty pink roses that I spent time picking out, found a vase at a separate fancy location and really enjoyed the whole process. No reason in relaying this message to my internet populous other than to let you know that DJ Witwicky is out here balling out of control in real life. Thank you, as always, for being here. I'll be byck with another handful of game next weekend.Polka King of the Midwest,DJ Witwicky

Park Chan-wook's Thirst One of the great thrills of the past ten-plus years is the discovery of new, exciting, and challenging films. On this week's episode of WatchThis W/RickRamos, Mr. Chavez & I dive into the cinema of South Korea's Park Chan-wook for 2009s Thirst. It's fascinating to watch stories we believe we understand and are sure we have witnessed every variation. Park Chan-wook's Vampire story centers around a priest (Kang-ho Song) as he struggles with his beliefs and his slow transformation into the Undead. With an equally exceptional performance from Kim Ok-vin (as Tae-ju, the woman who fall in love with the priest with all of its complications), Chan-wook's film is a beautifully realized exploration of love, religion, death, and sin. Take a listen and let us know what you think. Questions, Comments, Complaints, & Suggestions can be directed to gondoramos@yahoo.com - Many, Many Thanks. For those of you who would like to donate to this undying labor of love, you can do so with a contribution at https://www.buymeacoffee.com/watchrickramos - Anything and Everything is appreciated, You Cheap Bastards.

Harvest Reflections - The Great ThirstJohn 7:37-39. Cf Isaiah 12:3. Jesus is at the feast of Tabernacles, appointed to begin on the 15th day of the 7th month, and lasting 7 or perhaps 8 days. This was the harvest festival, and one of the ceremonies of the feast was connected with water. Jesus used that unusual ritual as an illustration, - to show that He is the Well of Salvation, that nothing in this world can satisfy the thirst of the soul, yet when brought to understand our need, we can find hope in Him alone.Read the NOTES HERE. We look back at how women teapickers in 2015 fought for justice - and improved the lives of thousands of tea plantation workers. We hear the story of a famous photo of American president John F Kennedy working at his desk in the White House - with his cheeky young son underneath. Also, from 1985 one of the most notorious killings from the apartheid era in South Africa of the men who became known as the Cradock four - this includes graphic descriptions of violence. It's 30 years since American football star OJ Simpson was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife and her friend. We hear from one of his former friends who testified against him in the criminal trial including his desciptions of the injuries suffered by the victims. And finally, it's 40 years this week since the release of Microsoft Excel, the spreadsheet software that's now used all over the world. We hear from one of the creators.Contributors: Rajeshwary - tea plantation worker. Sabita Banerji - founder of Thirst tea charity. Lukhanyo Calata - son of Fort Calata, one of the Cradock Four. The very well-read Mel Owens grins and bears a roast at his expense before getting steamy in the kitchen with Debbie. Plus: When will Carol put in the call to the Dodgers ticket office? Thanks for listening. (Timestamps below)
What if vampire movies weren't just capes and candlelight, but living ecosystems of ideas—about infection, class, desire, grief, and the high that won't let go? We pulled on that thread and followed it everywhere, from neon-soaked action to art-house melancholy, from airplane sieges to centuries-long love stories. Along the way we map how Blade built a sleek underworld of boardrooms and blood banks, why Underworld kept the biotech arms race humming, and how Daybreakers and Stakeland treat vampirism like a supply-chain crisis with fangs. We also sit with the softer, stranger places these stories go. Only Lovers Left Alive and All the Moons turn immortality into a quiet ache, where time outlives intimacy. Byzantium and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night flip the bite's power dynamics, reclaiming agency and reframing the erotic charge. On the addiction axis, Thirst and Bliss merge craving with creation and self-destruction, turning every feed into a relapse and a confession. Global variations—Chinese hopping vampires, Filipino lore, Russian vourdalak—prove “vampire” is a vessel, not a rulebook, shaped by local fears and rituals. Then the deep cuts: The Wisdom of Crocodiles (aka Immortality) turns love into chemistry and murder into philosophy; Humanist Vampire Seeking Suicidal Person finds empathy as the trigger for hunger; and Romero's Martin leaves the most haunting question unresolved—monster, myth, or a boy who believes the story too well. If you're ready for a watchlist that bites outside the lines, this one's packed with surprises, arguments, and a few guilty pleasures.Loved the ride? Share the episode, hit follow, and drop your most underrated vampire film in a review—we'll add it to the coffin of future picks.Start with this Description

The woman at the well came searching for water but found the Messiah who offers life that never runs dry. Her story shows that Jesus meets us in our need, not our worthiness, and reveals Himself as the Christ. John's Gospel calls us to believe this same truth—that in Him alone our deepest thirst is forever satisfied.
