In this episode, the guys talk about Ben's first Champions Tour win, the Memorial Tournament, and who gets into heaven from Matthew 7:21-27. These are sobering verses. But they can be extremely comforting if we come to Christ as He prescribes. We are getting to the end of our study on the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, the Son of the Living God, preached this message to show His followers what it looks like to be a disciple in His invisible kingdom as we live everyday lives in the real world. In Matthew 7:21-27, Jesus puts this assessment before us again. And in two different paragraphs, He makes clear who it is who will enter His kingdom in the end. There is hardly a more important question to understand and act on than this one.Topics covered:- Ben Crane wins his first tournament on the Champions Tour!- Congrats to JT Poston on a gritty win at the Memorial Tournament- RBC Canadian Open preview and picks- Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 7:21)- The one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven- On that day many will say to me, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? (Matthew 7:22)- I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness (Matthew 7:23)- Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock (Matthew 7:24)- Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand (Matthew 7:26)- The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew (Matthew 7:25-27)- Real faith acts- Swing thoughtsFollow Bible Caddie:Instagram: @biblecaddieTikTok: @biblecaddieX: @biblecaddieListen and subscribe: https://www.biblecaddie.com/podcastInterested in starting a Bible Caddie Featured Group? groups@biblecaddie.comQuestions or inquiries: info@biblecaddie.comShop Bible Caddie: https://www.biblecaddie.com

In this episode, after recapping the Charles Schwab Challenge and previewing the Memorial Tournament, the guys unpack Matthew 7:13-20 and Jesus' command for His disciples to enter by the narrow gate and beware of false prophets. There are only two gates, two roads, two groups, and two destinations. And spoiler alert! The right choice comes with difficulty. But it also comes with great reward. We are coming toward the end of our study in the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, the Son of the Living God, preached this message to show His followers what it looks like to be a disciple in His invisible kingdom as we live everyday lives in the real world.Today we start the final section of the Sermon on the Mount, which deals with the assessment of a disciple in the kingdom of God. Today's passage, Matthew 7:13-20, brings us to a fork in the road. When it comes to Christ and His kingdom, these verses show us there are only two possible choices: two very different roads that lead to two very different destinations.Topics covered:- Congrats to Russell Henley on his win at Colonial and Memorial Tournament preview and picks- Enter by the narrow gate (Matthew 7:13)- Two gates, two roads, two groups, two destinations (Matthew 7:13-14)- The gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many- The gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few- Jesus as the narrow gate (John 10:9)- Beware of false prophets who come in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15)- You will recognize them by their fruits (Matthew 7:16-20)- Religious, educational, and cultural false prophets in the 21st century- Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire (Matthew 7:19)- Swing thoughtsFollow Bible Caddie:Instagram: @biblecaddieTikTok: @biblecaddieX: @biblecaddieListen and subscribe: https://www.biblecaddie.com/podcastInterested in starting a Bible Caddie Featured Group? groups@biblecaddie.comQuestions or inquiries: info@biblecaddie.comShop Bible Caddie: https://www.biblecaddie.com

Whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Our goal is that we would allow this verse to move past the layer of familiarity deep into our minds and down into our hearts so that it begins to transform the way that we live.We are continuing in our study in the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, the Son of the Living God, preached this message to show His followers what it looks like to be a disciple in His invisible kingdom as we live everyday lives in the real world. We are finishing up the third major section in the Sermon on the Mount, which deals with the practices of a disciple in the kingdom of God. Today, we close out section three of the Sermon on the Mount by looking at one little verse: the Golden Rule. Jesus' words remind us that because of where marriage comes from and what it is, disciples of Jesus are called to hold marriage in the highest regard. Divorce, according to Jesus' teaching, should be a last-ditch option, allowable only under the circumstances of adultery or abandonment.Given where marriage came from and what God intends for it, it's impossible to have too high a view of marriage. Marriage is designed to be an unbreakable bond between one man and one woman, all in order to point the watching world to Jesus Christ. This sermon was, and will be, the greatest sermon ever preached. Since the beginning of time, great speeches have shaped the world. Martin Luther King's I have a dream to fight for equal rights. John F Kennedy, we're going to the moon. When we took one huge step for mankind. Winston Churchill's we shall fight on the beaches before we storm the beaches at Normandy. But no words have shaped our world like those found in Jesus's Sermon on the Mount. These words have created new world views. They've elevated ethics; they've captured the imaginations of philosophers and thinkers, both Christian and secular alike. These ancient words, spoken by a rabbi on a mountainside in first century Palestine, have been more read, repeated, and studied than almost any other words in history. These words created a culture, and we'll do it again today.
