I can’t think of a better come-back podcast than this interview I had with CEO/Founder of Women Ignite International, Sheli Gartman.  I had the privilege of having coffee with Sheli a couple of months ago and she poured some much-needed belief into my life exactly when I needed it most. I have often spoken the words “it’s okay to lean on the belief of others while you grow your own” and she’s a true example of fulfilling that role in my life. As the bio of her website reads: “Sheli Gartman (“Sheli G”) has been inspiring and educating businesses, teams and individuals for the past 15 years. She loves people and is constantly inspired by the souls that come into her life and seeing their potential bloom and brighten the world.  Sheli is an international speaker, dynamic business consultant, and personal development facilitator. From large to small businesses, entrepreneurs, and non-profits, Sheli engages and challenges her audiences with the tools and methods to activate their highest strengths for lasting results. It’s not enough to say she is passionate about this work: it’s not work, it’s her passion. This is about changing the world.” I’ll tell you this, that bio speaks absolute truth of who Sheli is. And I know this conversation will inspire you. As Sheli says towards the end of this podcast, “we’ve gotta make this life worth living.” Tune in as she shares her story and as we cover everything from how our convictions give us confidence to pivot, to the importance of having mentors, intentionality in our pursuit of personal growth, and the importance of grace along the way. I do want to take a moment to recognize that Sheli mentions her extraordinary dad throughout this podcast. During the time this interview was recorded, her precious dad was in the hospital and has since passed.  I know he’s looking down on Sheli and is so incredibly proud of her for the woman she is and the impact she is having and will continue to have in this world. In a way, this conversation is a real tribute to her father. And for that, I believe it’ll be cherished forever. Sheli is a true example of a life lived Rooted In Reason™. Enjoy this conversation. Key Points in this Episode: -Why boundaries are important -How to set clear boundaries -What boundaries need to be set in our lives -How to treat others when boundaries are set -How to not be responsible for other people’s “junk” -How to teach others to set boundaries in their own lives In this Episode We Talk About:  How Angie’s life story, how she found her authentic identity, after figuring out her “pretending” and unclear boundaries didn’t work anymore.  She shares insights about what really is our responsibility and what others are responsible for.   We discuss the element of control, how a lot of people try to control things and people around them, and what we can do to set boundaries to control our own lives, but letting go of the control we impose on others (or when others try and impose control on us).   How setting boundaries (and which ones) are important to set, with people, with partners, with teams, with business, with children, with ourselves, etc…  How we get our needs met and how to communicate and how to get what you need out of the relationship, while honoring who they are without expecting them to be something they’re not. Guest Bio:  Angie is passionate about helping others set healthy Boundaries in their lives so that every area of their lives operate better. She uses her own experiences and lessons she has learned to bring health, hope and healing to the people she coaches, teaches and mentors.   She is also privileged to facilitate Mastermind groups through Women Ignite International. These groups help people who are serious about moving their lives and businesses forward by intentionally collaborating, brainstorming and being willing to look at what's not working and having the courage to do whatever they need to in order to make it different.   Her calling and career is centered around providing the absolute best Senior in home care and consulting available in the Treasure Valley.   Resources:   https://www.facebook.com/bridgesinhomecare   Website: www.bridgesihc.com   Books:     Boundaries: When to say Yes, How to say No to Take Control of your Life by Henry Cloud: https://amzn.to/2uNVRpf   Swallowed Up: Loving Others without Losing Yourself by Angie Shea: https://amzn.to/2LmbPkO   --   This episode is brought to you by one of my FAVORITE books, written by a mentor of mine, Russell Brunson.
