In this episode of The Plastic Surgery Revolution, Dr. Steven Davis welcomes Lisa Johnson, President of Sales and Marketing for Epicutus, to discuss how science, safety, and simplicity can redefine professional skincare. With over two decades in aesthetics and medicine, Lisa shares how Epicutus blends luxury with real science, backed by patented research from Princeton University and clean, globally consistent formulations. Dr. Davis explains why a consistent skincare regimen is critical before and after procedures like facelifts, neck lifts, and laser treatments—and how the right products can elevate surgical results. Key topics include: Why clean beauty needs more than great packaging – and how Epicutus combines luxury, efficacy, and safety in one streamlined system. Global formulation standards – why Epicutus uses the same EU-compliant formula worldwide, avoiding harmful ingredients banned overseas but still allowed in the U.S. EWG Verification – the only third-party certification that independently reviews every ingredient, final formulation, and manufacturing process. Safe for all life stages – from pregnancy and breastfeeding to oncology patients, Epicutus products are designed to be effective without sacrificing safety. One line for every skin type – how reducing inflammation benefits acne-prone teens, rosacea patients, and even older adults with aging concerns. Innovation on the horizon – a new sunscreen launch and future category-defining products in development. Japanese influence – the company's deep connection to Japan's formulation philosophy, ingredient sourcing, and meticulous quality control. Dr. Davis also shares a story from the operating room about a nurse seeking safe skincare during pregnancy, highlighting why ingredient transparency matters more than ever. Whether you're a skincare enthusiast, a patient preparing for surgery, or someone seeking safer, more effective products, this episode offers valuable insights into the next generation of professional skincare. Listen now to learn why Dr. Davis and his patients are excited about Epicutus—and how its approach could transform your daily regimen.

It's estimated that around 70% of all instances of kinship care are informal. This is significant because family members in these cases are caring for a child without official documentation. Caregivers providing informal kinship care do not receive assistance from the state, nor do they have official custody of the child. And in many cases, they cannot receive assistance from other organizations or local programs, as these resources often require official documentation of the placement. This leaves many families uncertain of where to turn for help or how to access critical resources. Our guest for this conversation understands the importance of filling this critical gap in care.Lisa Johnson is the Founder and Executive Director of Entrusted Houston, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families and children impacted by the child welfare system. She began her fostering journey in 2009 and is a proud mom to seven children, four adopted through foster care. While Entrusted Houston initially set out to support foster families, today they stand in the gap for families, children, and individuals who could otherwise not access critical resources. Among the many they serve in Houston are caseworkers, biological families, families navigating kinship care, single-parent families, refugees, trafficking victims, and veterans. They are truly embodying what it means to entrust God with their resources and offer them to anyone who seeks help.In this episode, you'll hear how this ministry evolved to include more than just foster and kinship care families, why these resources are critical to prevent a potential removal and help children return home, how to stay grounded in your mission, and much more.Find the show notes and links to anything we discussed here: riversideproject.org/lisa-johnson-40

Send us a textFood waste. It's been called the world's dumbest problem. Did you know that about a third of the food grown on farms is wasted, meaning it never gets to a factory, a grocery store, or to a consumer? This is not because farmers are wasteful. Far from it. It's because it's sometimes hard to harvest all the food that's been produced, especially if it's underground (think sweet potatoes). Food waste is not just an economic problem, although it can drive up food cost. It is food that is not feeding a hungry world. Dr. Lisa Johnson joins us to discuss her work on food waste and loss. Lisa's research focuses on the critical challenge of food loss at the farm level and how to reduce. For more information, check out Lisa's website: https://lisakjohnson.com/Got a questions for us? In the dead of summer, a shift in tone appears to be taking hold between Canada's premiers and the prime minister. On this week's West of Centre, three Alberta-based journalists examine what may be driving Premier Danielle Smith's recent change in rhetoric. At the latest premiers' summit, Smith downplayed talk of a new oil pipeline and instead emphasized on shared priorities with B.C. Premier David Eby — including ammonia exports, LNG expansion and increasing Trans Mountain's capacity.Meghan Potkins of the Financial Post offers a reality check on the private sector's appetite for a new pipeline. Lisa Johnson of The Canadian Press and Alex Boyd of the Toronto Star explore whether more in-person engagement — and a new prime minister — may be shifting the dynamic among provincial leaders. And to what political end?The panel also unpacks renewed controversy over coal payouts. The Alberta government is now facing millions more in potential liabilities after reversing its policy on coal development in the Rockies — raising the prospect of further legal and political fallout.Attention then turns to the Battle River–Crowfoot byelection, where federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre faces a ballot featuring some 200 names. Is it a genuine complaint, or a pre-emptive explanation for what could be a lower vote share in one of the country's safest Conservative ridings? The episode ends on a sobering note. Globe and Mail reporter Carrie Tait was recently targeted with surveillance. The panel reflects on rising hostility toward journalists, and how it threatens not just the press, but the public's access to information.Host: Rob Brown | Producer & editor: Falice Chin | Guests: Meghan Potkins, Lisa Johnson, Alex Boyd

Venus has flipped over to the morning sky after it passed between the Earth and sun. We'll have a nice conjunction of Venus, Saturn and the crescent moon on April 25 very low at dawn. And watch Jupiter and Mars move to the east at a good clip this month as they orbit the sun. Plus, for the first time ever, Bob reads poetry! Next month on Minnesota Night Skies, another meteor shower to look forward to, plus more pleasant weather (we hope) to encourage folks to spend the night out under the stars. Astro Bob is podcasting!
