So fortunate to have been able to get WWE Superstar AJ Styles on A Couple In. It was short notice, he had almost no sleep, and still managed to take his kids to school and find time for us. He also had some huge news!

This weeks guest grew up right across town. A Ft. Worth native that left out for what baseball had in store for him. Justin (Hatch) Hatcher has spent his entire adult life playing and coaching at the professional level. We have a lot in common, he’s a grinder full of grit and great stories. I enjoy the times we get get together and have some cold beers and swap stories.

Alright folks, let’s talk about cutting teeth. This weeks guest is literally the first guy I cut my teeth with playing country music. A long time ago we had a once a week song swap gig together, and nobody was ever there. I’m proud to say that fifteen years later we’re both still at it and trying to get better. It’s my ol pal Jason Eady.

Sometimes you get to meet your heroes, but every now and then you become friends with them. I’m proud to say this weeks guest is both. Today we have Scott Ian, founding member of Anthrax and one of the most recognized faces in Metal music. He shares some of his best stories with us today, so enjoy this very special A Couple In!

From writing some of the most heartbreaking country songs to spitting beer all over me, our guest today is one of my favorites. She’s one of the best in the business and I’m so thankful we’ve become friends, played, and recorded together. Her name is Courtney Patton and she’s a badass.

I’ve been fortunate to meet a lot of great people in the business that I’m in but I’d be hard pressed to find a nicer guy than this weeks guest. George Dunham has been a mainstay on the airwaves for a long time. Along with his partner Craig Miller and Gordon Keith they are The Musers, the morning show on 96.7/1310 The Ticket based here in DFW. It was great to have George on and swap some stories.

We first met Pearl Aday at a dinner party at W.Earl Brown's house several years ago. Ward Davis and I were on the road and did the Conan O’Brien show and ended up having dinner with Pearl and her husband Scott and song swapping. Since then we’ve toured together and our families have become friends. Pearl has a cool story and we are glad she took the time with us for a couple in with Cody Jinks.

This weeks guest has been a friend of ours for a long time. He’s an old school DJ, yet a pioneer in moving forward to create avenues for artists , true friend to guys like us whom he helped get to where we are. If every radio station in America had a Justin Frazell, major market radio wouldn’t suck as bad as it does today.

With 2020 being so weird and screwed up it’s nice to reflect on what we do have. The relationships we have with the new people we cross paths with and old friends. I am thankful that I’ve crossed paths with today’s guest. I got to meet Steve in L.A. this last January and found him to be as kind and sincere as he was intimidating in the WWE ring. Since we got to visit with our friend W. Earl Brown we found out he is now on The Mandalorian! How cool is that? We met Earl a few years ago through Ward Davis and Earl is hands down one of the best storytellers I’ve ever heard. Here’s a little sample. Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.

Got to shoot the bull with one of the best young NASCAR drivers on the circuit. Ryan Blaney is going to be a lot of fun to watch for a long time. He’s also a fun and down to earth. He actually gave us a couple of doors from one of his cars. Check it out.

His story of how Bloomer Trailers came to be isn’t just interesting, it’s quite literally the American dream. He built his company from the ground up more than twenty years ago with the intention of making the finest trailers in the world, and that’s just what he’s done. Got a chance to talk to Ian Kinsler in the midst of the pandemic. He and his family got the hell out of dodge and headed for higher ground to wait this thing out. It was so great to talk baseball and music with him. He’s a class act, super nice guy, and he and his wife have a very similar story to that of Rebecca and I. Hope you dig this one!

We had an absolute blast talking with Jeff Banister. Jeff has spent thirty plus years in professional baseball as a player, coach, and manager. He’s now at The University of Northern Colorado but we got to catch up with him and talk shop. After the conversation I wanted to be on his team. The psychology behind an effective leader is fascinating.

We got to sit down with our good friend Sunny Sweeney for our first remote podcast try after quarantine started. We’ve been tour mates with Sunny several times over the past few years. She’s extremely talented and equally as funny, she’s also the hardest touring musician I know. Enjoy our chat with Sunny, we did.

I met Andrew a few years ago when he was pitching for my Texas Rangers. He was kind enough to have us down on the field during batting practice and gave us a bunch of cool swag. Since then we’ve had some beers, gambled, gone hunting, and he caught my first pitch at Fenway Park last year on my birthday. He’s a great dude! Hope you enjoy this one!

We got to sit down with our friend Conor McDermott and talk football. Conor had just gotten back from Hawaii hours before we chatted and had been doing Hawaii type things we may or may not have talked about. Conor is an NFL lineman that we’ve become friends with over the years, he’s a giant of a man at 6’8 and 320 and a hell of a great hang. Enjoy.

Hey there folks! Got a good one today with Kendell Marvel. I first met Kendell in a bar by accident when I was in Nashville several years ago drinking with Ward Davis. Ward saw him and said: “ You need to meet this guy, he’s a good dude and and a great songwriter”. At first, I was reluctant because I’m not down with the plastic B.S. that comes from “Nashville” songwriters, but Kendell isn’t your 'normal' Nashville songwriter , in fact, he’s one of the best writers I know, and not too bad of a fella. He’s got some great stories, enjoy.

Think the men and women that fight in UFC or any other octagons are just meat heads? Not everyone enjoys MMA and cage fighting but there is most certainly great detail in training, preparation, and knowing how to attack and defend against an upcoming opponent. You have to be smart.
