Peymon Mottahedeh - Founder of Freedom Law SchoolPeymon Mottahedeh, an Iranian-born Jewish immigrant, moved to the United States in 1977 and soon after became disillusioned with what he saw as discrepancies between America's ideals and its realities, especially within its financial and governance systems. This prompted him to delve deeper into American law and governance, ultimately leading him to establish the Freedom Law School in 1996, which aims to educate U.S. citizens about tax law and their related obligations. Holding a degree in Business/Marketing from the University of Long Beach, Peymon's earlier professional experiences in the mortgage industry and financial planning gave him unique insights into the financial mechanisms that underpin federal systems. Today, he is a prominent speaker and educator, especially known for his discovery and understanding of the history of the Federal Reserve and the IRS, and he actively promotes a better understanding of tax law through his numerous educational campaigns and seminars, empowering thousands to better understand tax law.Joe Banister:Joe Banister - Former IRS Agent and Tax Reform AdvocateJoe Banister, who began his IRS career in 1993 after earning an accounting degree from San Jose State University and working as a Certified Public Accountant, is now a leading critic of the Federal Income Tax. His transformation from an IRS enforcement officer to whistleblower was sparked by his discovery of systemic issues he perceived within the agency, leading to his resignation in 1999. Since leaving the IRS, Banister has made significant contributions to the public's understanding of the U.S. tax system through his book, "Investigating The Federal Income Tax: A Report To The American People." He remains actively engaged in the debate over tax reform, frequently appearing on radio shows and documentaries to share his insights and advocate for change.DESCRIPTION:Alfredo Luna Jr., a decorated Marine Combat Veteran and awarded the Law Enforcement Medal of Valor and survived 4 shootings as a cop. Hi, True Drews! Well, today, we are going to discuss one of the most unhinged Nancy Drew mysteries in the original 56 books, #48 The Crooked Banister. Nancy and Carson set out to solve a case involving some of his clients, the Melodys, who were sold a piece of property that turns out to be a Native American reservation. They also figure out that a man named Rawley Banister is involved in this scam and he has the craziest house I've ever heard of. (There are robots, poison, trap doors, a fiery moat...you get the picture.) Nancy and Carson have to solve who is also behind exploiting Native American children on the reservation. This is a very WEIRD book. *TRIGGER WARNING: A group of Native American people are exploited very unfairly in this book, which I did not like!*

TrineDay's The Journey Podcast 161Dr. Jeffrey CaufieldGeneral Walker and The Murder of President KennedyPublisher R. A. “Kris” Millegan speaks with Dr. Jeffrey Caufield, author of GENERAL WALKER AND THE MURDER OF PRESIDENT KENNEDY: The Extensive New Evidence of a Radical-Right Conspiracy, meticulously researched over 25 years using documents from the National Archives, the FBI, other archival sources, and many personal interviews.Topics discussed:His book is chock-full of information, especially about Lee Harvey Oswald. Each chapter has a summary at the end, making for easy reading.Oswald was often in Guy Banister's office in New Orleans in the summer of 1963. Banister was former head of the FBI in Chicago and was a close friend of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.Banister and those around him were far-right anti-communists and rabid racists who tarred the civil rights movement as communist to demonize it and shut it down. The Louisiana Un-American Committee, comprised of vicious Klansmen, was Banister's organization. The US was on the verge of a second civil war over civil rights, especially in the South. Joseph Milteer, caught on tape predicting that JFK would be killed by a shooter with a high-powered rifle from an office building, was friends not only with Guy Bannister but also with the right-wing General Walker. The Warren Commission concluded Oswald shot at General Walker in his home. More likely Oswald was accused to smear him as a leftist capable of violence.GENERAL WALKER AND THE MURDER OF PRESIDENT KENNEDYThe Extensive New Evidence of a Radical-Right ConspiracyAvailable at the usual sellers. It is a story we're all pretty sure we know. On a fateful day in Dallas, Lee Harvey Oswald—working alone—shot President John F. Kennedy. End of story.Or is it?In General Walker and the Murder of President Kennedy: The Extensive New Evidence of a Radical-Right Conspiracy, author Jeffrey H. Caufield explores the forces which led Oswald to be in Dallas that day. Unlike many theorists, however, Dr. Caufield applies acquired academic methodology in rigorously researching the story through public records, private correspondence, and a number of sources not available to the general public until the Freedom of Information Act released them.Caufield explains that when President Kennedy relieved Major General Edwin A. Walker of his command in Germany in 1961, he (Kennedy) started the chain of events that would lead to his own death. In June 1963, President Kennedy proposed his sweeping Civil Rights Act bill that would abolish the sacred Southern institution of segregation. In response, the segregationists threatened a second Civil War that culminated in the murder of JFK.Working with a who's who of fellow right-wing radicals (including some of the most powerful military and political leaders of the time), Walker was in the forefront of a plot to assassinate a large number of people in power positions in both government and industry. This plot, masterminded by Walker, evolved into a plan to assassinate President Kennedy and made Oswald an unwitting pawn in one of our country's greatest historical mysteries.Meticulously researched over 25 years using documents from the National Archives, the FBI, and other archival sources—along with extensive personal interviews—this book presents a massive amount of new evidence. Never before has there been such compelling proof of the involvement of the radical right and General Walker in the murder of the president.

Welcome to the show Mary-Chelsea Banister. MC graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Business Management, focused specifically on Supply Chain, and a minor in Fashion Merchandising. Technically her career started when she was 16, with her first job at a Gap store. After earning her degree from UGA, Mary-Chelsea moved to Atlanta where she worked for Carter's (the baby apparel company) as a Senior Analyst. She spent quite a few years transitioning roles across departments and determined to be a sponge to soak up as much industry knowledge as possible. Her path consisted of operations, retail buying / planning / allocations, to omnichannel (a super innovative team that spearheaded a lot of new company projects). After a few personal life challenges, MC made a change from the Fortune 1K path and pursued a role with a smaller but growing company in Charleston, SC. Here we will discuss all of the different challenges life threw at her, and how she pivoted and re-evaluated her life through the lens of her morals and values. Any links you'd like to promote?" No links. Just would love to encourage others to network, find a mentor(s), and trust your gut when it comes to risk-taking. Purpose is fundamental.Worksheet template #2 : Personal Values < click to download Whether you realize it or not, every time you make a choice about doing one thing as opposed to another, you make a value decision. When you have a decision that involves two or more conflicting values that are of major importance to you, the decision can be extremely difficult to make (e.g., career values may conflict with family and friendship values). You can, however, make these decisions more effectively if you have some idea of what your most important values are and the priority that you give to each. The following exercise will help you to understand what personal values are, which personal values are important to you, and what priorities you give to them. In reality, your values are expressed through your actions. If you can bring your actions more into harmony with your values, you will feel more in control of your life and more satisfied with the decisions you make.
If you were asked to pick a few words that describe ideal qualities in a leader, what would they be?Maybe you'd choose words like, “focused, passionate, and confident”. All of these are excellent qualities in a leader. Would words like “adaptable” and “learning” also make it on your list?In an era where change is the only constant, the essence of leadership is evolving. This episode presents a compelling conversation with Simeon Banister, the visionary President and CEO of the Rochester Area Community Foundation, who shares key moments of realization in his own journey toward redefining leadership.Stepping into his role amidst a world clamoring for authenticity and inclusivity, Simeon shares the challenges and opportunities encountered in his inaugural year as CEO. He takes time to explore the nuanced, seemingly small moments of vulnerability and authenticity that have paved the way for transformation and defined his leadership journey. From leading through vulnerability to prioritizing psychological safety in the workplace, Simeon's experiences shed light on the essential qualities of today's successful leaders. His approach underscores the importance of building relationships and how small moments of genuine engagement and strategic reflection have become the bedrock for significant organizational and community impact.Concluding with practical steps for cultivating a culture of listening, reflection, and strategic focus, the episode is a must-listen for leaders and change-makers looking to inspire and drive meaningful progress within their organizations and communities.Tune in to gain a deeper understanding of how intentional leadership practices can create a fertile ground for small moments that lead to big changes, positioning organizations to lead effectively in the next normal.

Carly and I would be eternally grateful as we continue to try to keep our head above water with this thing. Today's guest is a country artist that calls New Mexico home. He's got a killer baritone voice and you can just tell he's the real deal. Will Banister was immersed in the music of Merle Haggard, Hank and George Strait at a young age and you can really hear those influences in his music. His popularity on Tik-Tok, Instagram and Facebook has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years in response to his no fluff, off the cuff and honest posts. Along with touring here he's toured Europe to great accolades and he's even had a song in a Clint Eastwood movie. He's a very humble down to earth guy when you're speaking to him, but when he gets on stage or in a studio his talent speaks for itself. For our Oklahoma listeners Will's gonna be playing at Chiggers in Broken Bow on Saturday, May 6th and he's got a bunch of dates scheduled in Texas including one at Cheatham Street Warehouse on Friday, May 19th. All his tour date and everything else Will Banister can be found by visiting willbanister.com. Links for this and much more will be found in the show notes for this episode. So let's get to it! Here comes Episode #173 of The Troubadour and our visit with a true country artist. Mr. Will Banister.
