Roman soliders had made their mark on the minds of the Macedonians, it was clear that this war was more serious than the last. However, the victor was unclear, Philip despite being the underdog, had shown he had a knack for talent. Macedon had now come to blows with Rome itself, to the Romans though they were just a side show to the main threat of Hannibal and Carthage. Yet for Philip and Macedon Carthage was a world away and Greece was still a place full of enemies and allies and conflict would not stop. Evenutally, however, the side show would become the target and the Phalanx and Legion would clash.Karanos Journal - https://revistes.uab.cat/karanos/indexFollow us on twitter at https://twitter.com/apochistorySources for the Episode.By the Spear: Philip II, Alexander the Great, and the Rise and Fall of the Macedonian Empire (Ancient Warfare and Civilization) By Ian WorthingtonA Companion to Ancient Macedonia by Joseph Roisman and Ian WorthingtonA History of Macedonia by R. Philip V was a young man when he came to the throne, like his namesake Philip took over the throne with Macedon in a precarious position. There was much he would have to do. Yet in the west the power of the Romans was growing, yet not unchallenged, with the rise of Hannibal, Philip saw his chance.Karanos Journal - https://revistes.uab.cat/karanos/indexFollow us on twitter at https://twitter.com/apochistorySources for the Episode.By the Spear: Philip II, Alexander the Great, and the Rise and Fall of the Macedonian Empire (Ancient Warfare and Civilization) By Ian WorthingtonA Companion to Ancient Macedonia by Joseph Roisman and Ian WorthingtonA History of Macedonia by R.
