Introducing our Angel Host, Ariel Xue. She is currently the CEO of Sydney School of Protocol (SSOP) and China Innovation Capital. Originally from China and now based in Sydney, Australia for nearly 10 years. Ariel served as the Director of SoGal Sydney and proudly brought the SoGal powerful global network of millennial diverse entrepreneurs and investors to Australia. Inspired by SoGal Ventures (the first female-led millennial venture capital firm), Ariel started her own innovation fund China Innovation Capital to invest in startups in wellness and preventive health.

Anyier was born in a refugee camp in Kenya and moved to Australia at the age of ten years old. Overcoming the adversities of her childhood and the challenge of moving across the world to a country where she knew no one and didn’t speak the language. Anyier holds a Bachelor of Arts, Major in Development Studies, Sociology and Anthropology, Master’s in Development Studies (Refugees and Displacement) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and currently undertaking her PhD at Western Sydney University (WSU).She is currently employed at Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC) as a Youth Transition Support Worker, where she works primarily with newly arrived refugee youth to connect them with education, sporting and employment opportunities, as well as connecting them to local communities. She is also the chair of the Australian National Committee on Refugee Women (ANCORW).Her greatest achievement is being the Founder and CEO of the social enterprise Miss Sahara Pageant and Anyier Model Management which both aim to build social cohesion within the African communities and the wider Australian communities. Through annual beauty pageants, they aim to increase diversity in the Australian beauty and modelling industry as well as bringing awareness to the under-representation of African and minority groups in Australia.

Renera has more than decade experience in the finance industry across fintech media, M&A, private equity and ethical investments where she became one of the first advisors under 30 who specialised in investment portfolios for women investors.She founded Kreativ Society, a brand development and marketing agency for startups and innovations in the beauty, health, food, lifestyle and Fintech industries capturing new markets in Europe and Oceania.Starting as a hobby Renera holds the Country Manager role for the Australian chapter of a top tier European based global pageant and TV production company. Apart from producing the first international winner for Australia since Jennifer Hawkins she also directed the first Australian pageant & fashion show in VR together with famous Dance DJs the Potbelly's.

This was not how Intrepid Angels was meant to launch but here we are. Ghosted by our co-host at the launch of season one after six months worth of recordings, editing and a lot of work behind the scenes. These are our lessons learn't by being ghosted in business and by 'friends'.

My Guest in this episode is Daniela Kraus - Chief Operating Officer at XVenture and most recently, Chief Optimism Distributor.In partnership with XVenture’s founder and CEO, Hon. Daniela has a double degree in Marketing and Psychology, and her post-graduate study includes Organisational Coaching and Neuroscience.In the midst of COVID-19 lockdowns across Australia, I sat down ‘virtually' with Daniella and we talk about building resilience as a learning process and how to turn a negative experience into a performance improvement by adjusting your goals. She told me about the 5 elements of Emotional Agility and the importance of self awareness during moments of both sadness and happiness.
