This episode is a treat! I'm joined by Jana Calano, a Cumberland mom and founder of Motif Growth and Wellness. We're discussing the Enneagram and how it's translated through parenting. In this episode of It Takes a Village we discuss the ancient practise of Elimination Communication with Nicole from @nappyfree. One of my favourite subjects to dive into is ancient practises that we have somehow lost touch with in modern Western Society and this one is no small subject. This practise taps in to one of the key words of my parenting philosophy which is communication. This practise provides this on such a deep level that it will have ripple effects beyond measure for the whole family. It's a booster for baby and mama wellness during the postpartum period, creating a deeper connection with your baby and a deeper understanding of your baby's innate intelligence. It supports confidence building for new parents as well baby's trust that they are heard which will have a whole other level of ongoing benefits as well. Not to talk about the benefits of connection it provides for the father or non birthing partner! I hope you dive into this episode and if you want to watch the short version of the film you can find it on The Village along with an abundance of holistic parenting resources. Mac chats to a previous client in an open conversation about what it looked like for this family to approach and work on their baby's sleep. Kallie tells us what brought her to this decision and how it affected their family both before and after choosing to consciously change their situation. This can be such a controversial topic and this episode is intended to share some insights from one of the families Mac have personally worked with on how it felt for them, what worked and what didn't, and what does it really entail? It will hopefully help shift some fear and stigma around how we can work towards healthier sleep for our families.
