A Lifeslice first! There are 2 interviewees at the same time; I spoke with Nafissa and her sister Nanaissa about their home country of Mali. Unsurprisingly, we hit again on the idea of a global community as they described how Mali has adopted and then adjusted customs from other countries. Completing the circle, we saw how other places have taken Malian art and wove it into their own customs and appreciations. Yohance was extremely gracious in his sharing and, like a good teacher, eager to break Trinidadian customs, history and viewpoints down for an outsider. Please note, Yohance was still at his school when recording this, so you will hear school-sounds in the background, including what I can only describe as someone kicking a steel drum.Show Notes | Twitter | Facebook | InstagramIf you would like to hear more like this conversation, please leave a review and tell a friend.Kudos to machinespirit for the awesome cover art.
