Listen to BFFs Patty and Kim catch up on all things adulthood, womanhood, and each of their hoods from across THE WORLD. You can expect two different perspectives on career & education, navigating through life in your twentysomethings, and other sort of important things like health and l-o-v-e. Keep up with us the gram: @longdistancebffspod
BI-DEN! The podcast is going on holiday (jk). Biden is in and we’re saying bye bye for now. We decided to take some time to regroup and replan this podcast for the rest of 2020 so that we can come back better and stronger in 2021. So many thanks to those of you that have been listening to us and all our shenanigans throughout the last few months. It’s been so fun launching this passion project but this year has shown to be major trial and error for the podcast. Nonetheless, we are so so excited to plan some new, juicy content for you to come. There’s no set timeline as to when we will return (yet), but we will see (or speak to) you soon. Keep tuned BFFs!
Raise your hand if you’re not over spooky season yet either! The BFFs hands are still up as they go over historical murder stories in this episode. Calling all cool cats, kittens, and murderinos (shout out MFM podcast) to tune in! Unless you’re sensitive to the subject –consider this your trigger warning and heads up.
Ever heard of an Aswang, Manananggal, Tiyanak, or a Duende? No? Well, you will in this episode. And there’s more. Get ready to be spooped as the BFFs talk about some scary Filipino folklore as well as some of their own personal encounters with the scientifically inexplicable.
~This episode gets modernly sPoOoKy~ The BFFs watched the Netflix docu-drama, The Social Dilemma. You’ll hear their review of the film and about their own experiences partly growing up with social media and its effects today. As you listen to this week’s episode, we want you to think about YOUR relationship with social media and how you might improve it moving forward.
In this episode, the BFFs explore (a debatably-spooky-topic): different types of Friendships. From being a Loyal Best Friend to being a Brutally Honest Confidant, the BFFs share which type of Friend they consider one another, whether they have or lack some of these Friends, and if they miss friendships that have come and gone. Be a good friend and listen up! Jk. Maybe think to yourself or decide which type of friend you are in your friend group?
“Season 2” of the pod is here! Spooky season is also here, time for the transition! Before getting into all things fall and spooky, let’s catch up on the past few weeks and what the BFFs have each been up to. This includes music they’ve been loving, shows they’ve been binging, places they’ve been going (safely), and more!
Alll the (purchased) ragrets. Listen to what things the BFFs wish they never bought in this episode –some useful, most not so useful, and some plain random. Spoiler: Tik Tok made one of them do it.
*disclaimer* This episode explores the sensitive topic of body image. Welcome back to the “girls room.” The BFFs talk about their individual experiences dealing with body image and self consciousness in different times of their lives. By no means does this discussion come from a professional standpoint. The two reflect on personal lessons they’ve each learned thus far and how they navigate through this journey of loving themselves and their bodies. Regardless, all body shapes and sizes are valued and worthy! You’ll find more of these valuable reminders throughout the episode.
Bonjour! The BFFs recall the time they visited and experienced Paris together, for the first (and only) time. What is known to be the “city of love” turned out to be the city of.. well.. some mishaps and realizations. Hear about them all and take a stroll down memory lane, or along the Champ De Mars gardens, with the BFFs in this episode!
In this week’s episode, you’re invited into the “girl’s room” which is really all inclusive but it’s just about typical talk between girls regarding their experiences growing into womanhood and, well, coming of age - hence the title. This is the first episode to a series of “girl talk” episodes to come so RSVP your BFF spot, listen in, and join the convo!
After taking a short break from recording, the BFFs are back at it to do a bit of catch up and discuss what they’ve each been reading, watching, buying, etc! Prepare to take some mental notes of all the recommendations and plant names (lol).
Get your snacks ready for part 2. The seat gets hotter as the BFFs and their BFs answer questions from their listeners If you haven’t listened to part 1 of the BFFs’ BFs, go listen to it first and come back to this episode - or not, whatever floats your boat!
The BFFs invite their BFs to talk about how each couple met (hint: someone slid into the DMs) and what it's been like quarantining with one another. Everyone gets the hot seat as well as they answer some juicy q's about their partners and from couple to couple! Grab your tea or "go to drink" (to be discussed hehe) and hear all the juice in the first of this two-part episode!
Based on an instagram poll, listeners chose to hear more about the BFFs’ “personality types” based on the Myers Briggs test. They each go into their results from the test and explain how freakishly on point it’s been in their experience. This also helps them understand why/how they get along so well and how it could be helpful to others!

Mabuhay! The BFFs explore their Filipino roots in this one and compare their personal traditions and upbringings - Patty actually having been born and raised in the Philippines and Kim being just half Filipino, born and raised in the U.S., but also quite in touch with that side of her heritage. They’ll describe what their native areas within the Philippines look like, are known for, and the food they love from each place. Try not to drool while listening!
Kim has been experiencing more memorable and vivid dreams since the start of this “self-quarantine” situation and wants to share more about it. Patty’s along for the ride to “dreamland” and has some to contribute herself. It seems obvious now that many of us are encountering the same thing with all these sort of stranger dreams and the BFFs thought it’d be fun to explore that in this episode.
We promised you two different perspectives on career and education - so here it is! At least, these are two very different experiences so far between the BFFs. Both are currently the same age and from the same place, but went down totally contrasting routes following high school. They explain some of their decisions on further schooling, first occupations, and just adjusting to “the real world” or the transition to adulthood.
The first full length episode is here!! The BFFs now dive deeper into, well, the BFFs! Both Patty and Kim each give a mini self introduction and go on to explain how they became the best friends they are to one another. You’ll hear of some fond memories and pivotal moments in the friendship and get to know them on a bit of a deeper level overall.
This is the ’Pilot’ episode - gah! Welcome, Willkommen to the Long Distance BFFs Podcast! This long distance best friendship between Patty & Kim was supposed to be temporary, but life had other plans for them so here they are, podcasting while living across the world from each other. In this episode, they (awkwardly) introduce themselves, try to find their "podcasting voices," and share reasons why they wanted to start this thing.
