United Nations officials have condemned mass killings by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan's el-Fasher. UN officials have warned the UN Security Council that the city has "descended into an even darker hell". The RSF took over el-Fasher, capital of North Darfur state, on Sunday after forcing Sudan's army to withdraw from its last stronghold in the western Darfur region. The paramilitary force has been accused of ethnic killings since its power struggle with the army erupted into violence in April 2023, but the RSF leadership has consistently denied the accusations - although this week its leader General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo admitted to the violations in el-Fasher. Meanwhile , the World health Organisation says it has received reports that more than 450 civilians in a hospital in the Sudanese City of Al Fasher. BBC's Jeremy Bowen reports

Send us a textTwo factions of the Lusi clan, clashed in the North End the night before the shooting. A long simmering beef, pertaining to drug profits and neighborhood respect, came to a head inside a nintey-nine restaurant, at lunch time in Charlestown, Ma. Robert Lusi was known in the North End as a bully, however he was a made member of the mafia. He liked to use knives and threaten people. He was seen as a braggart and attention seeking gangster. His son Roman may have been worse, it had been said that Roman was a killer and he would kill for the smallest reason. This crew was battling with another crew, led by Bobby Lusi, Robert's other son. Bobby was also a capo in the mob, but with another family. This issue came to a head inside the pub. Five would be shot, four would not survive. In 2009, Chris and Sheri Coleman lived in a quiet community in Illinois with their 2 young sons, Garett and Gavin. Both veterans, they thought they had left danger behind when they left the service. But when Chris began receiving death threats because of his work as head of security for Joyce Meyer Ministries, life got scary and tense. The threats began in November 2008 and culminated in May 2009, when Sheri and her kids were murdered in the family home. Red paint scrawled upon the walls told Chris that he paid the ultimate price. Detectives would need to find the deranged killer who committed this heinous crime. But they wouldn't have to look too far. 3. Tribal Politics and the Yellow Creek Massacre Professor Robert G. Parkinson, Heart of American Darkness: Bewilderment and Horror on the Early Frontier This section details the Yellow Creek Massacre. The frontier conflicts are described as tribal, involving native groups and colonial groups (Virginians, Pennsylvanians) battling over land, especially after the British left Fort Pitt. The massacre happened on April 30, 1774, at Baker's Bottom, targeting a band of Mingo natives. Logan's family, including his brother, sister, and mother, attempted diplomacy at a tavern but were ambushed and murdered by a group of men, including Daniel Greathouse, though none were named Cresap. Michael Cresap, later blamed in Logan's Lament, was absent. The violence was brutal; Logan's sister was killed after pleading for her infant son's life.

On Halloween night in 2004, Napa Valley, a town that hadn't seen a homicide in years, awoke to horror when roommates Adriane Insogna and Leslie Mazzara were found brutally stabbed inside their Dorset Street home. The only survivor, Lauren Meanza, escaped through the back door as the killer fled through a shattered kitchen window. Nearly a year later, DNA from rare Camel Turkish Gold cigarettes exposed the murderer as Eric Copple the murderer. He also just so happened to be, the husband of one of Adriane's best friends. On November 12th, 2015, Peter, the Island Air, mail-plane pilot, landed at Port William Wilderness Lodge on Shuyak Island. The lodge occupies an old cannery, and Peter found this stop memorable because instead of both of the lodge's caretakers greeting him, as usual, only one caretaker, 44-year-old Steven Ridenour, met the plane. Peter wondered why the other caretaker, Steven McCaulley, 56, also did not arrive to help unload the freight. Since the tide was high, the plane could not pull up to the beach, and Ridenour had to ferry the mail to shore by boat. Without McCaulley there to assist, the job proved difficult and time-consuming. Peter also found it curious that Ridenour simply stacked the freight above the high-tide mark, grabbed his gear, and jumped on the plane for a ride back to Kodiak. Ridenour then flew to Anchorage where he lived. On November 15th, Steven Ridenour called the manager of Port William Wilderness Lodge, told him he'd quit his job, and asked for his past four paychecks. On November 17th, Steven Ridenour's brother, Don, called the lodge manager and said his brother sent him and other family members Facebook messages stating he killed his fellow caretaker, Steven McCaulley, in self-defense, and he needed money to leave the state. The manager contacted the Alaska State Troopers and requested a welfare check on McCaulley at the lodge. SOURCES: Christiansen, Scott. 3-17-2017. This week, Roger and Troy tackle Woodchipper Massacre, a backyard horror “classic” that proves you don't need a budget, logic, or even good audio to make a movie. They unpack the film's chaotic family dynamic, questionable acting choices, and the surprising lack of, well, woodchipper massacres. From overacting kids to scenes that drag on like a home movie gone wrong, the guys find plenty to laugh (and groan) about. They debate whether it's so-bad-it's-good or just plain bad, all while appreciating the strange charm of DIY ‘80s horror. It's low-budget lunacy at its finest, and somehow, you can't look away. Two thousand jobs are being cut at Paramount-Skydance, roughly 10% of the workforce, equating to a projected $2 billion in savings. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. It was supposed to be his masterpiece. A sanctuary where art and love could thrive. But on a summer afternoon in 1914, Frank Lloyd Wright's Wisconsin estate, Taliesin, became the scene of one of the most shocking massacres in American history. The cook, Julian Carlton, turned on everyone in the house. Armed with an axe and a can of gasoline, he killed seven people, including Wright's lover, Mamah Borthwick, and her two children. What followed was fire, panic, and questions that have haunted historians for more than a century. Why did a quiet, polite employee snap so violently? Was it rage, revenge, or madness? Taliesin was rebuilt, but its walls still carry the scars of that terrible day.Follow True Crime Recaps for the stories where genius and tragedy collide.
Episode 84: In this week's bonus episode of Crime to Burn, April sits down with author Arnie Bernstein to discuss the 1927 Bath School disaster, the investigation that followed, and what it takes to responsibly tell true stories of mass violence nearly a century later. Together, they explore how the bombing changed one American town — and why its echoes still shape today's conversations about justice, memory, and the human cost of tragedy.
