Today we sit down with Lauren Chan, supermodel, Sports Illustrated rookie, and plus-size fashion designer (yes, she really does it all). Lauren is a prominent voice in the body-positive and self-love community and is truly redefining beauty standards across every avenue she ventures into. In our conversation, Lauren opens up about her trauma-driven pursuit of perfection, her self-discovery as a gay woman, and her inspiring journey post-divorce. We dive into her time as a Sports Illustrated rookie and how it is an incredible experience but it is also eye-opening to realize that every woman gets insulted for their own beauty standards and that there is no “perfect woman” in a man's world. Lauren shares advice about how dressing for the female-gaze is the best thing you can do for your confidence and that you should curate your social media feeds with uplifting creators that make you feel inspired. From breaking beauty standards to navigating her passions, Lauren's story shows us the importance of representation and to always stay true to yourself. In other news, Raeann and Kristina launched Confidants yesterday!! Confidants is our new Patreon community that will be full of new solo episodes, first access to live events, a Discord channel, and so much more. We are SO excited for this new extension of The Confident Collective community. We also dive into Em Rata's controversial divorce rings, swimming with no goggles on, and that Kristina finally fulfilled her dream of getting a partnership with Bravo! We retrace John's lifelong love of music and do a deep dive into when and why he took a major leap-of-faith in 2006 and decided to join DWS and subsequently helped the Staib's take the company to new levels of prosperity and success. We talk about TJ's diverse interest in nearly every genre of music and we touch on John's 250+ Grateful Dead show resume along the way too ;) Join us, and let's see where the energy takes us! #IFELinks: https://music.apple.com/us/album/feel-like-a-stranger-live/291317313?i=291317358 https://music.apple.com/us/album/clocks/1122775993?i=1122776156https://relisten.net/grateful-dead/1987/09/20/24-touch-of-grey?source=96359

Paul's much-loved letter has given us so many gifts in the past months, and now he has finished with two more. The closing words of this letter tell the story of two gifts. They can be connected, but they are different—contentment and people who care for you. In both, we receive something we need, and we learn to see the world and people around us in a different and better way. As we conclude our “Beyond Happy” series, we'll explore how Paul wrapped up his letter to the Philippians. First time listening to our podcast? We'd like to get to know you! Are your relationships serving you or are they causing more harm than good? Learn about the significance of choosing the right connections in our lives, especially in times of pain or heart deficit, as we use the highly anticipated sequel, Wakanda Forever, as a foundation for our discussion. We delve into the profound pain Princess Shuri experiences due to the loss of her brother, the former Black Panther, as she navigates an excruciating pain, reminding us of the power of selecting the right relationships. In the world of relationships, there are three C's - Constituents, Comrades, and Confidants. Each play a crucial role in shaping our lives. Using the biblical story of King David and his son Absalom, we highlight the importance of discerning who to invest in and who to allow in our lives. We also provide a rundown on how to identify the types of people that are currently in your life and those you need to add. Moreover, we underscore the significance of speaking the truth in love, the courage of redefining relationships, and the necessity of having meaningful conversations to fortify bonds.Brace yourself for a tale of an awkward marriage proposal, which emphasizes that sometimes the relationships we need can be found on the other side of an uncomfortable conversation. But remember, forging sturdy relationships is not exclusive to our human connections. If you feel distant from Christ, we beckon you to experience the journey of renewal by opening your hearts to the Lord's work, and assure you that starting a relationship with the Lord is as easy as ABC. So come, join us on this journey of reshaping relationships and reconnecting with Christ.Support the show
What does it mean to operate as descendants of Abraham in modern times? In this episode Rylee and Josh Latimer break the chains that bind our minds regarding the common belief that time equals money. Key takeaways: Know your comrades: Comrades are the people who share your interests, beliefs, and values. They are the ones who stand by you in good times and bad times.Be mindful of your constituents: Constituents are the people who follow your lead, genuinely respect and appreciate you, and look up to you for guidance.Cherish your confidants: Confidants are the closest people in your life who you share your deepest secrets, fears, and dreams. These people will always be there for you, no matter what.Prioritize your time: Take control of your day by making a list of things that are important to you, and prioritize them in order of importance.Avoid distractions: Minimize distractions from social media, phone notifications, and other interruptions that consume your time.Invest in yourself: Invest in education, personal growth, and other valuable activities that help you grow as a person and professional Quotes: "Time is infinitely more valuable than money ever will be." - Rylee Meek"There's 3 types of relationships that any of us have, and there's comrades, there's constituents, and then there's confidants." - Rylee Meek Check the DNA Blueprint, visit: https://kingscouncilcommunity.org/ Text “King” to 727-472-3860 and join the community!-The King's Council's mission is to help you discover and deploy your God-given talents. In a matter dear to Sam and Dave's livelihoods, we have a timely podcast to discuss Elon Musk's Twitter takeover. There is no one better to get into the weeds of this issue than Kate Klonick. Kate is an Associate Professor of Law at St. John's University Law School and a Visiting School at Harvard University's Rebooting Social Media Initiative. She is a leading expert on social media companies, content moderation, and the private governance of online speech. If you want to understand why Elon Musk bought Twitter and the likely implications, you've come to the right post. David (Sam's away) begins by asking the obvious – why is Elon doing this and what is his plan? Is he a tech genius or is this a completely irrational pet project? A lot has also been said about Twitter's content moderation policy and Elon's purported issues with it. Kate explains to us how Twitter's policies are unique from those of other social media companies. She also delves into the consequences of Elon messing with these policies and, potentially, laying off much of Twitter's staff that works on content moderation (right before an election!). The short- and long-term consequences of this takeover will be felt throughout society, so come learn more! All other things being equal, the older you get, the harder it becomes to make new friends. So how do you go about forming new friendships as an adult? I'll examine this question through the lens of "Persona 5," and excellent JRPG. In turns out this game has a fairly accurate blueprint on how to progress from casual acquaintance to intimate confidant. The keys are time, shared interests, and reciprocal self-disclosure.

In today's show Lydia + Sarah discuss love and belonging and boundaries and how those fit into being in relationship with others. They share real life examples and offer some great tools towards the end of the show to help you assess where you are in the relationships in your life. Episode Tool: Grab a sheet of paper and turn it landscape. Create 5 columns with a header for each column: Column 1: True believers: these people make up your fan club and celebrate your successes with you. Column 2: Confidants: these people are your sounding board. you can talk intimately with them about your life and your path. Column 3: Way showers: these people are your role models, people you know or admire from afar. Column 4: Messengers: these people deliver valuable information to help provide you with forward momentum. Column 5: Naysayers: these people are often negative, critical or unsupportive about your life and choices. Think about all the people in your life and write which column would they fit into. Then, spend some time reflecting on this. Is there someone who is close to you that is really a negative force in your life that causes you to question yourself? Do you have more true believers who have your back than you realized? Get curious! Stacey and Lynn have been friends for over 20 years, but when issues started getting “real” for both of them they didn't talk about them. Fear of being judged, embarrassment, and shame all led to them both lacking the support they could have used during some turbulent years. This is the story of how they broke that cycle, and why they started this podcast so everyone can realize that there is someone they can talk to. You just need to start talking.
