Robert Malley is a veteran U.S. Middle East peace negotiator, and, as I've come to learn, an inspired and devoted teacher. He has participated in multiple U.S.-brokered Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. He was on the team that negotiated the Iran nuclear inspection deal in 2015, and more recently served as U.S. Special Envoy to Iran. Under President Obama, he also served as the White House point person in the campaign against the Islamic State. Malley is now a Senior Fellow and lecturer at Yale University's Jackson Institute for Global Affairs. There have been so many major developments in the Middle East since we had this conversation last August before a live audience at Nantucket's Dreamland Theatre. But the stories and insights that Malley shared, are as timely and compelling as ever.

Finally, we dive into sales, the part that helps people make decisions and commit. If offers are the destination and marketing is the buzz around it, sales is the conversation that helps someone decide whether it's the right fit for them. Hello, music lovers!  Welcome to Why Music Matters, a podcast where we examine the power and influence that music can wield in our lives.  I'm your host, musician and music journalist Jeff Miers. Recording today's episode was a real treat for me. Having Alex Khoury, Cody Tarbox, Seth Bykowski and Colin Gray - who are known collectively as Witty Tarbox - in the studio with me, with instruments in hand and plenty of stories to tell, felt like one of those cool spontaneous backyard hangs around the fire-pit. A moment you didn't see coming, but that arrived with an air of familiarity. Like, we've all been here before, even though we just met.  As you'll hear, these four musicians are a band of brothers, a group of guys who found their musical tribe when they met each other, and allowed a unique, rootsy, rustic, and rockin' sound to develop organically. They come from different backgrounds, and possess widely varied skill sets, but when they lock in together, something magical that is well beyond the sum of its parts emerges.  The band recently travelled to the fabled Dreamland Recording Studios, just outside Woodstock, NY, to track what became their new album, Midnight Sun. We talked about that experience, and the guys performed some of the material that emerged from those sessions live here at 678 Main Studios. JODY LYNN NYE Author & Writers of the Future Judge – Biography Jody Lynn Nye lists her main career activity as ‘spoiling cats.' When not engaged upon this worthy occupation, she writes fantasy and science fiction books and short stories. Since 1987 she has published over 50 books and more than 200 short stories. Among her novels are her epic fantasy series The Dreamland, Mythology 101 contemporary humorous fantasy series, three medical science fiction novels in the Taylor's Ark series, and Strong Arm Tactics, humorous military science fiction. Jody also wrote The Dragonlover's Guide to Pern. She also collaborated with Anne McCaffrey on four SF novels, including Crisis On Doona (a New York Times and USA Today bestseller. Nye wrote eight books with the late Robert Lynn Asprin, License Invoked, and seven set in Myth Adventures universe. Her newest series is the Lord Thomas Kinago humorous space opera, beginning with View from the Imperium (Baen Books). Her newest books are Moon Tracks (Baen), YA science fiction with Dr. Travis S.
