Sermon from Sunday, March 6, 2022. Today is the first Sunday of Lent and as we make our way through the season, each week we will be focusing on a different object from scripture. Today's object is that of "bread" and will be taking some time to reflect on what it mean to have enough - what does it really mean for us when we say "give us this day our daily bread"? Do we really trust God will provide for our daily needs, or is this a place where we remain skeptical. God welcomes all of our questions and he welcomes all of our doubts.
This Sunday we celebrate the Transfiguration of our Lord, Jesus. It was a truly amazing moment for the disciples who were with him - so much so they wanted to stay right where they were on that mountain and bask in the glow of what they had just witnessed. But that was not the reaction Jesus was looking for. He wanted them to be inspired by the moment and move forward from their moment of awe into a life of action - loving and serving the people. We have been asked to do the same - to move from awe to action! So let us be on our way!
As the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics winds down, we are reminded of the beauty of the peace and harmony that the Olympics tends to bring. But why can't this same peace and harmony be pervasive always? In many ways, the Olympics is a microcosm of God's Kingdom - a place where people from every nation and tongue and tribe is welcome and live in peace with one another. The world watches as world-class athletes compete in peace - and the world watches as followers of Christ do their best to bring hope to a broken world.
Sermon from February 13, 2022 worship service.
We continue to live into our New Year with our series "Hope Begins Here." Pastor Kellie's message today will focus on a passage from Isaiah that reminds us that those who hope in the Lord will surely renew their strength and be able to tackle all that life has to offer - from joy to pain. May you find hope today, as well, in our worship of God today!
We are continuing through our New Year Worship Series of "Hope Begins Here" and we acknowledge that our hope begins with Jesus. But why do we need Jesus at all? Because we are fallen, fallible, broken people - whose story of redemption began in the Garden of Eden and the choice of Adam and Eve who did the one thing God asked them not to. We will spend some time taking a humous look at this moment with The Skit Guys - the reflecting on the extreme goodness of God who sent Jesus into the world to break our fall from grace. Welcome to worship!
Sermon by Pastor Kellie Whitlock, 16 January 2022

As a community of faith, we recognize Jesus Christ as our sole source of hope - and we look into the uncertainty of the days ahead, we look with certainty because of our hope in Christ. Hope begins here! Welcome to worship!

Audio from YouTube video: https://youtu.be/f_jlLSfnjU8 History recognizes the official start of the Protestant Reformation on October 31, 1517. For more than 500 years, the church experienced great periods of change, but perhaps none more dramatic than what the church has experienced these past 18 months. But through it all, God hasn't changed. He has remained faithful and true and has been the sure rock upon which we build our faith. Today's worship service will recognize all that God has done for us and his kingdom. Let us worship God! Bulletin: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ec0j752ini7ghb2/Oct%2024%20Bulletin.pdf?dl=0
