Hello Hillside Family! Have you ever had an experience of the imagination in which you felt pulled out of one realm and pulled into another? I (Dan) have, and I'm talking about it this Sunday morning in my Week 4 message on Genesis 13-14 from our "School of Faith: The “Tests” and Triumphs of Abraham fall series. I'm sure Pastor Wayne will similarly have strange stories of the past to share as he gives his Genesis 13-14 sermon. As the last sentence indicates, our one church family is meeting in two places for service this Sunday, on the hill and at the park. So, if you have a friend who would feel more comfortable on the hill, invite him/her to join you for church at 2060 Magnolia Way. On the other hand, if you have a friend who would feel more comfortable in the park, invite him/him to join you at 1375 Civic Drive. One way or the other, invite a friend and expect a great morning of praise, teaching, and connection!Come worship with Hillside Covenant Church LIVE at 10:00 AM both online and in person as Dan Seitz teaches from Genesis 13-14.This week's sermon notes are available at: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZBJse5ZHhrjKvFBfWYRHEiFTeTbtHk9cgpkIf you are new to Hillside and are looking for ways to get connected and build community, visit our website: https://www.hillsidecovenant.org/ We welcome you to Hillside and are so glad you joined us today! To give in support of Hillside Covenant and its ministries follow this link: https://hillsidecovenant.churchcenter.com/givingThe full service from Hillside Covenant Church, Sunday, September 28, 2025.

Our world has gone insane, crazy, and losing it's collective mind. Good is evil and evil is good. Right is wrong and wrong is right. Up is down and down is up. The world has been turned upside down. As followers of Jesus how are we to live in the days of evil? Simply put, look at Jesus. Keep our eyes on Him. Listen to Him. Walk with Him. Converse with Him. His strength, His Joy, His Hope, His peace will guard our heart and mind, if we Look at Him.
Hello Hillside! Welcome to church and welcome back to The School of Faith. This Sunday we will continue our study of Abraham's life, learning lessons that deepen our own walk of faith today. The curriculum is set, the lessons are relatable, and yes, there will be a test. But do not worry, we are in this together: worshipping, studying, and being refreshed to step out in faith and follow God's guidance. It is going to be a super Sunday on the Hill as we gather as a church family. Let us make a joyful noise to the Lord, encourage one another, and fix our eyes on Jesus.Come worship with Hillside Covenant Church LIVE at 10:00 AM both online and in person as Stephen Wysong teaches from Genesis 12:10-20 (CSB).This week's sermon notes are available at: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZXcc15ZdI3EyXiyHS45nnu2snKyPmgamgNXIf you are new to Hillside and are looking for ways to get connected and build community, visit our website: https://www.hillsidecovenant.org/ We welcome you to Hillside and are so glad you joined us today! To give in support of Hillside Covenant and its ministries follow this link: https://hillsidecovenant.churchcenter.com/givingThe full service from Hillside Covenant Church, Sunday, September 21, 2025.

The world is going crazy, many might think and believe. However, the world has been going crazy for a long time. But what's coming in the near future is way beyond our thinking and understanding. That is why it is paramount that we have the wisdom of God to live our lives with power and strength that only comes from Him. The wisdom of this world has produced a world in which we are finding it harder and harder everyday to function and live in. Wars, moral decay, the onslaught of AI, and much more. The disciple James tells us how to live in this world and if we call on God in faith He will give us the wisdom to not just survive in this world but to thrive in it.
During this message, we looked the story of Elijah on Mount Carmel in 1 Kings chapter 18. Ahab's confrontation was caused by... giving up on God's direction and limping along between two options. Hello Hillside Family! I (Dan) am expecting this Sunday morning's worship gathering to be one of more than normal spiritual electricity and I invite you to be there. Consider these “ingredients”: (1) Our whole church family will be together–just one 10:00 AM service on the hill this Sunday; (2) Vacation season is complete so many world travelers will be back; (3) Josh Lund will be on stage with guitar after a week away; (4) Our high school and middle school students will be in the room with us; (5) We're celebrating Communion; (6) We're kicking off a new message series that Peter Turi and I have been thinking about and working on for many months–title to be revealed in the message; and (7) We have an all-church lunch right after the service–Michele is cooking as I write this. My three hopes: (1) You'll come in person to make the singing louder and to help receive visitors; (2) Some of you hiker-types will park offsite to save spots for others; and (3) you'll squeeze in once you enter the sanctuary so everyone gets a seat. God is at work at Hillside! Come Sunday to see how!Come worship with Hillside Covenant Church LIVE at 10:00 AM both online and in person as Dan Seitz teaches from Galatians 3:9.This week's sermon notes are available at: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZY0iD5ZEGcF9TReMpRqN2rp1RWgGXjpQJByIf you are new to Hillside and are looking for ways to get connected and build community, visit our website: https://www.hillsidecovenant.org/ We welcome you to Hillside and are so glad you joined us today! To give in support of Hillside Covenant and its ministries follow this link: https://hillsidecovenant.churchcenter.com/givingThe full service from Hillside Covenant Church, Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Faith is not just a noun or just a verb. They are both. You may ask how can they be both? You see you can't have faith without works but works are a result of your faith. Faith in Jesus, not your works. Works done for your glory or the glory of man will only lead to religious piety. Works as a result of our faith in Jesus because we love Him and people, will have reward but the reward is inconsequential. We do because of who we belong to. We do because it is who we are. We don't find our identity in what we do but because of who we are and who He is in us we, do. We work. We believe. We have faith and we do faith!

In Matthew 9:9–13, Jesus calls Matthew, a tax collector nobody wanted, and gives him a new identity as a disciple who helps change the world. In Matthew's story, we see how Jesus calls each of us: first to Himself, into a real relationship with God. Then into groups where we grow alongside other disciples. And into teams where we join God's world-changing mission. No matter your past or how disqualified you feel, Jesus is still calling you to belong, to grow, and to go.Come worship with Hillside Covenant Church LIVE at 10:00 AM both online and in person as Wayne Phillips teaches from Matthew 9:9-13.This week's sermon notes are available at: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZjv4D5ZyAjey9c5FXj3SbJwHVDkX4Xy41VVIf you are new to Hillside and are looking for ways to get connected and build community, visit our website: https://www.hillsidecovenant.org/ We welcome you to Hillside and are so glad you joined us today! To give in support of Hillside Covenant and its ministries follow this link: https://hillsidecovenant.churchcenter.com/givingThe full service from Hillside Covenant Church, Sunday, August 31, 2025.

The world has gone mad, crazy, and is out of control many say. But what does God say about the crazy mixed up world? In the midst of the storms of life He is there to comfort us. To calm us in the middle of the storm, not to necessarily calm the storm. The Apostle Paul dealt with a time at the church in Corinth where they needed comforting and who did God use? A person. An imperfect person. A person with flaws, but a person who sought after God and in so doing was able to bring comfort to the church at Corinth. Who was that person, Titus. As God comforts us we must comfort others. You can give away what you don't have. Position yourself in a way where God's comfort and overwhelm you instead of life doing it.
