Cornerstone College ministry’s lessons out of Stillwater Bible Church

God's way is better than ours, and His timeline is better than ours. What do we sacrifice on the altar of our plans, our time, when we could be trusting God?

Believers are children of promise, not children of slavery. Paul gives an old testament allegory contrasting Sarah and Hagar to describe the freedom believers have in Christ through His promise.

It is good to be sought in the right way, as Paul sought the Galatians, and as they originally received him. But believers need to be careful to not elevate teachers over the word of God and sound doctrine.

We sacrifice fellowship, wisdom, and purity on the altar of desire in our relationships. God's way is greater than following our desires.

Heirs as a child are under tutors, but at maturity no longer have a tutor. In the same way the Law was a tutor, but in the era of freedom we are free.

What is marriage? God's love is a picture of marriage, and our submission to Christ should be greater than altars of marriage.

What is the purpose of the Law? What does our unity in Christ mean?

Where do we get the power to live a fruitful life? How are we saved? What is the curse of the Law? Galatians 3:10-18

If our Christian life started by hearing with faith, is it completed by the flesh? No. We are justified by faith.

Jews and Gentiles are justified (declared righteous) by faith apart from works.

What do we sacrifice on the altar of entertainment?

What altars do we sacrifice on for school? God is greater than school.

Paul received his gospel from God. He tests to confirm he is not teaching contrary to the apostles, because there are some in the church introducing works to the Gospel..

We all sacrifice to something, but the return we get from God is greater than anything else the world or our flesh tells us to sacrifice for.

There is no other good news that saves. Paul defends the Gospel that he received from God.

Paul is surprised at the Galatians' following a false gospel. He denounces those who preach anything other than the Gsopel Truth.

Join us as for a background and introduction to Galatians: Living the Gospel Truth in a world gone rigid.
