In this episode, Wyatt & Jeremy have a conversation with Dr. Stanley Andrisse. Stanley grew up in a disadvantaged community and family, and began selling drugs at 13 years old. In his young adulthood he became one of the biggest dealers in the St Louis area. Eventually he got caught and was sentenced to 10 years behind bars. While in prison, Stanley lost his father to Type 2 Diabetes. That tragedy put Stanley on a path to becoming an Endocrinologist and Assistant Professor at Howard University Stanley is the author of From Prison Cells to PHD, Its Never Too Late To Do Good and is the creator of an organization by the same name. R.L. Shawver is Father to a son named Sam. In the first 18 months of Sam's life he had to undergo 6 open heart surgeries. R.L. tells us what it was like seeing his newborn son having such traumatic procedures done and how he and his wife at the time found joy even in some of the darkest moments.
