"It's the idea that how you're together matters far more than what you're doing together. It's this “how” that determines whether the relationship is going to thrive." —Michael Fulwiler of The Gottman Institute So how do good relationships work? How important are compatible relationships to our life? Falling in love can lead to a relationship, but what is needed for it to truly last? Compatibility. If two entities align: schedules, beliefs, age, culture, work ethic, the assumption is often that a match has been made. Compatibility is the synchronization of different values between partners; It is how you get along as a couple - moving, loving, and growing in harmony. Understanding your role in someone else's life is extremely important and may look and feel different to each of you. It's how one lives their life, exists, and interacts with others that will ultimately determine the quality of their life and thus the quality of their relationships. In this episode we dive into the Importance of finding a compatible mate that will go the distance with you; How to resolve conflict; and the Skills needed to manage day to day life and what an excellent day looks like. My next guest will help guide you through relationship dynamics, conflict resolution, and managing day to day life. Consistency (or lack thereof) is one of the biggest barriers to a solid, profitable real estate business, even if the agent is doing the right activities. Agents are guilty of doing the right things in short, inconsistent bursts of intensity, but the truth is, short bursts aren't enough to create momentum. Why does consistency increase our likelihood to succeed? How do we maintain consistency when things don't go our way? In this episode, team lead, Public Speaker, Blogger and member of the Forbes Real Estate Council, Mor Zucker talks about the 3 key pillars of consistency and how to build them into our businesses. Three Things You'll Learn In This Episode-Why showing up is the first step to consistencyIt's hard to show up and be consistent when a deal goes bad or the market's shaky. How do we override our own self-sabotage? -How to curb distractionsAs real estate agents, shiny object syndrome comes with the territory. How do we stay committed to the tried and tested activities that will lead us to success? -The importance of shifting our perspectivesWhy do we have to turn something we see as a setback into a challenge that will work out for our benefit? Guest BioMor Zucker is a team lead, public speaker, blogger, and a member of the Forbes Real Estate Council. INTRO Louisa Whitney is a family mediator helping separating couples to create tailor-made resolutions CONTENT Whilst Louisa and I have a different client base, I work with couples who are together and want to work it out, whilst Louisa works with those who have come to the conclusion that they have hit a brick wall, and she helps them communicate better whilst ending the relationship. We both experience similar situations. Many couples have got into rut, in a busy and overwhelming world, and listen to react, or reply than listening to understand. By reacting they are likely to be angry or defensive, protecting themselves from what they believe is going to be accusations of some kind or another. Louisa goes on to explain how she teaches and encourages couples to use the 4 C's of effective communication: Calm Constructive Conscious Compassionate If you would like to know more, then tune in. BIO Louisa Whitney is a family mediator and a non-practicing solicitor. In 2013 she left her role as a solicitor to set up a family mediation practice, LKW Family Mediation. She describes the transition as having felt that as a lawyer she was helping people to put out fires they'd started but as a mediator, she was supporting people to avoid starting fires. It suited her Highly Sensitive personality more. She also mentors and supervises other mediators and offers training to other professionals working with separating couples and individuals. She is hugely passionate about the 4Cs of effective communication: calm, constructive, conscious and compassionate. Louisa is also an accredited family mediator and child-inclusive mediator. She is also a PPC and trainer. She worked as a family lawyer for 11 years before undertaking mediation training. She describes the transition as her work as a lawyer helping people to put out fires they'd started and her work as a mediator teaching the separating couple how to avoid starting the fires in the first place. In 2013 she set up a standalone mediation practice to offer high quality, empathetic mediation to separating couples with an emphasis on teaching them the communication skills to manage their separation calmly, constructively, consciously and compassionately CONTACT DETAILS / LINKS Website www.lkwfamilymediation.co.uk Linkedin - https://www.linkedin.com/in/louisawhitney/ Facebook - www.facebook.com/lkwfamilymediation Twitter - www.twitter.com/lkwfammed or www.twitter.com/louisawhitney Instagram - www.instagram.com/louisa.whitney.1 ABOUT WENDY CAPEWELL Wendy is a Psychotherapist, Coach, Public Speaker, and Author. In this week's episode I have the pleasure of talking to Brenden Kumarasamy about an essential skill that most children, and adults, are not actually taught in school!Public speaking and effective communication is essential for anyone who wants to get anything done in life and yet it is a skill not taught in schools or indeed at home. You might know Brenden from the Mastertalk YouTube channel. He has coached CEOs at the highest level and is one of THE go-to people to talk to about this sort of thing.Brenden very kindly took an hour out of his day to talk to me about this.We discussed what exactly the education system is getting wrong when it comes to this? Why presentations in schools don't make your child a better speaker. How to become a better speaking and effective communicator. How parents can support their children in this. How to communicate boundaries to your children. And how to become a better communicator yourself and advance your career. If you, like I, want to become a better communicator or improve your child's communication and public speaking skill I highly recommend you check out Brenden's website here where you will find a free courseIn the news this week; This embarrasing article by Yvonne Roberts in the Guardian. I talk about my issue with "feminists" who spend their entire time talking down to other women. Apologies, I do say "shit" a lot in this segment as it REALLY gets my goat when "newspapers" publish pieces that do nothing but denigrate women. Don't get me wrong, we all expect the Daily Mail to do it but for The Observer to publish articles like this is disgraceful.Playing us out; "Walking in Manhattan" by Fabio Poian..just a little jazz ditty

Alignment, pain reduction, strength gains and more GET YOUR BODY MOVING BETTER! On this episode, Josh chats with Douglas Bertram of Structural Elements. Douglas Bertram, L.Ac., CEO/ Founder of Structural Elements® has 27 years of clinical experience treating patients with his proprietary combination of Chinese Medicine and Manual Therapy. He is an Educator, Public Speaker and Entrepreneur. His education includes a B.A. in Contemplative Psychology ( minor, Traditional Eastern Arts) from Naropa University, and a Chinese Medical Degree from Five Branches University. He has completed dozens of marathons, 50 and 100 mile ultra- marathons and 3 Ironmans. He spent several years in Outdoor Education as an Outward Bound instructor. His career is devoted to Human Performance in work, life and sport. Experience a treatment that helps prevent future injury, improves your athletic performance and helps your day-to-day mobility. THE (se)® APPROACH: Structural Elements® looks at the body differently. Through years of refinement, Structural Elements have created a treatment that addresses the cause of structural imbalances within the body. They listen to your goals and bring your body to a level of peak performance representative of your ability, age, and fitness level. — HOW IT WORKS: Structural imbalances cause alignment issues, pain, or reduced athletic performance. The therapists look at the body's global alignment, posture and balance in movement. FIND ADHESIONS: (se)® therapists palpate around the fascia in a proprietary mapping pattern to find and rid the body of adhesions. Adhesions causing incorrect tension or pressure must be broken up before the bone structure can be corrected. REMOVE ADHESIONS: Using hands-on manual therapy and a range of other tools including dry needling, cupping, or electrostimulation, the therapists remove the adhesions making correction of structural imbalances possible with a lot less force. CORRECT ALIGNMENT: Manual therapy techniques are applied to return the patient to correct alignment and posture. With adhesions removed and alignment corrected, pain is reduced, strength gained and range of motion realized. — Sit back, relax and enjoy the show!! -- https://structuralelements.com/ -- Full video episode: https://youtu.be/5MwPH7rUYmI

It was a pleasure to sit down and chat with Andreas. He shared what it was like taking over phpugffm (the PHP user group in Frankfurt, Germany), why he believes some devs aren't involved in user groups, how to become a better public speaker, and an excellent form of development: Documentation-driven Development. Some key takeaways are: When you lose your place while speaking, calm yourself, and collect your thoughts, then pick up where you left off. Enthusiasm makes talks lively and interesting. Speaking is a matter of practice and wanting to communicate and impart something to others. Travis Crutcher is back. THIS time we're talking about Professional SPEAKING. More specifically… we're digging into 6 things we wish we'd known earlier… when it comes to getting paid to speak… and being a professional speaker. If you're a Dream Think Doer… there is a VERY good chance… you've got a message the world needs to hear! Because you're taking time out of your week… to listen to stories and strategies that help you to dream bigger… think better… and do more. You're investing in yourself. And my guess is… you also want to see OTHERS dream bigger… think better and do more! That means… you've got a message to share. You've got stories and strategies in you that need to get out… because they can help other people! So let's get you some specific strategies to help make that happen! INFO ABOUT MITCH'S NEXT-LEVEL SPEAKER LIVE 2022! Click here: www.mitchmatthews.com/nextlevelspeaker to find out more about this LIVE 3-day event with Mitch. If you've got a message in you the world needs to hear… if you've got a heart for speaking and it's time to get paid for that message… if you want to make a positive impact on the world and you know it's time to take it to the “Next Level” then join us! www.mitchmatthews.com/nextlevelspeaker RELATED EPISODES: Lisa Even from episode 366 attended last year's NEXT LEVEL SPEAKER and it was a game changer! She's had incredible “Ripple Effect” ever since! From FREE to FEE: 5 Specific Strategies to help you become a PAID Speaker: mitchmatthews.com/332/ 8 Tips to Get Over the FEAR of Public Speaking: mitchmatthews.com/076 MORE ABOUT TRAVIS CRUTCHER: Travis's Website: traviscrutcher.com Travis's Podcast: Above Average Podcast MORE ABOUT THE EPISODE: Now… some of you have NO interest in being a PAID professional speaker… because… maybe… you don't really like public speaking. Heck… that's understandable… because studies show that more people are afraid of public speaking then they are of dying! So yeah… if you bristle at the thought of being a speaker… let alone a PAID speaker… you're not alone. BUT… what if? What if you could get over that fear… and you could step in front of a group of people… and bless their socks off? What if… the words you shared shifted people's lives? What if… something you said inspired someone to make a change they've wanted to make or live more of the life they were meant to live? What if? I think everyone can learn strategies to overcome fear… and then speak more effectively… and even have fun with it! But I also believe that some of you should get paid well to do that too! And THAT might be closer at hand than you might think! Heck… we've got a lot of listeners that are paid speakers… and if that's you… WELL DONE! BUT with today's episode… I wanted to get to brass tacks and give you even more to help you take your ideas and your abilities to speak to the next level… and… if you chose… to help you get PAID well as a speaker! To do that… I've enlisted my friend Travis Crutcher! I'm betting you remember Travis from episode 344… AND 352. Travis is a Success Coach and Speaker who helps dynamic people get clarity, increase impact, and live a life they love! Now… he also has a podcast called the Above Average Podcast… which he hosts with his amazing bride Jess… and they've gotten their show into the top 1% of all podcasts in a very short time! He's a Retired Army Ranger and he spent some time in the corporate space as an executive too. A few years ago… Travis joined Acceleration… my mastermind for coaches and speakers… and he launched his dream business and now he's killing it! And a big part of that is being a PAID speaker… and he's getting paid well to speak to audiences and make a big impact! By the way… he's such a leader… and his business is growing like crazy… so he's now helping me to run Acceleration and I'm loving it! With this episode… we're diving into speaking and specifically 6 things we wish we'd known earlier when it comes to speaking and being PAID to be a speaker. And we're going to talk about heart stuff… mental stuff… business strategy and life strategy and I think you're going to dig it! Especially if you're wanting to make an impact on the world in some small or big way… and potentially get paid well to do it! I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU: How about YOU!? What stood out to you from this conversation? Also, let me know if you have questions (big or small) about being a speaker! I want to hear from you!!! And PLEASE share this very fun/powerful episode with someone who YOU think would appreciate it and/or might be needing it… right now! They'll thank you! Know I'm rooting for you! Using the grief of a husband killed in action to fill a void in estate planning for fellow widows. That's the mantra of this week's Team Never Quit Podcast guest, Keri Mills. Her transparent story of being a lackluster student to attending law school is inspiring, as she strives to educate other Gold Star families and service members in planning ahead in the event tragedy should strike. Keri's husband, Special Operations Chief Stephen “Matt” Mills was killed in action along with 29 other Americans and a working dog when their helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan. With one knock on the door and one sentence, Keri went from being a married woman to a widow. Unprepared as she was for that life-changing event, it sparked her decision to help others be better prepared than she was. In this episode you will hear: Standardized tests are not my forte. What I realized about who I am is that I'm a person that does what I say I'm gonna do. I have worked for 8 ½ years to solve this problem. If I can keep someone from having to figure things out – the way I did – it's worth it to me. The stigma that comes with estate planning is that people think you have to have a pot full of money in the bank. That's not what it's about at all. It's about setting up your legacy. I don't have any stories to tell about Matt because they're not my stories to tell. I'm trying to carry on Matt's legacy. There are 300,000 veterans in Houston. The part that I see myself playing is education for the special operators and our community. [Marcus] “There needs to be a way to teach you how to get out.”
