I stumbled upon David's work just a short time ago and was immediately hooked. After leaving a successful acting career in Hollywood, David did what very few actors do and became a therapist! And a brilliant one at that. In this episode we talk about following the path of your soul, about the ways men trip themselves up, and the common challenges found int relationship. This is a powerful episode with a powerful man. Enjoy. Please do share this with one person in your life, or twenty. Cheers, Traver

Hello! This is a relatively short one; we figured it would be a good idea to see if we remember how to do all this. And look! We do. In this episode we mostly catch up and discuss the stuff we've been watching. Spoilers: I watched Deadloch. A lot. Season 2 is being made! Fingers crossed we'll be back soon - though the week between recording and publishing is down to my back making sitting impossible again, so please don't hold your breath. I am now on medical marijuana, and I didn't realise that I was so audible with it. If it bothers you, please let me know. You can email us with suggestions, comments, cocktail recipes, photos of your pets, whatever you feel like sending us. Please no mean stuff, even if the way I say 'G' sounds makes you want to rip off your ears and yeet me into the ocean. We have a Patreon, but full disclosure: I don't like actually taking people's money. I feel like a fraud when I do. I should get over it; the folks still there know what they're paying for and they are still patrons so apparently willing to give us money and we've been paying the fees for years now, so I really should. I probably won't. I should though. But I won't. Maybe tomorrow. We possibly still have a twitter account? I last used twitter on October 7th 2022 (the day my Dad died) and once I retrieved my data a few weks later, deleted my account and the app. Don't bother trying to tweet us, anyway. We are, however, on Bluesky (at least I am; Sophie will sign up soon) so you can reach us there. Also Facebook, because I'm getting to be middle-aged. I can never remember my login details on this browser, and I don't think I can face going through the whole 'forgot password' thing again, so search for us on there and you should find our page.
Leaders have a responsibility to connect a task to a purpose. Every job worth doing is worth doing well.Nic and Tarina, in this episode, talk about Chapter 17 from Know This. Do That. They point out how even the menial and mundane tasks demand excellence. No job is too small, or insignificant, for someone to be good at it.As Nic says, the foreman on an oil field needs to tell the fire watch, “You're the most important guy on the job. When you're not here, my welders can't weld.”And just like sealing duct work, leadership is messy, sticky work—and sometimes thankless. But a lot of leaders, unfortunately, feel it's not their job to inspire their apprentices and workers to deliver greatness.Nic shares how growing up on the farm his dad was tough on him and his brother. It was hard because consequences were high. He also talks about failing his first driving test. When you care with intensity, you will do great work. You gotta care.If you enjoy Nic and Tarina's podcast and get something from listening to “all this Nic Bittle Crap,” please hit the like button, share it with a friend, or both. How Certainty Fuels Outrage and DivisionIn this episode of the Outrage Overload podcast, we delight in a thought-provoking conversation with Ilana Redstone, a leading expert on the psychology of certainty. Redstone introduces the concept of the "certainty trap" and explores how absolute certainty can hinder intellectual growth and impede healthy democratic discourse. The discussion delves into the importance of questioning assumptions, embracing ambiguity, and recognizing the complexities of moral and ethical issues. Redstone highlights the connection between certainty and outrage, emphasizing the need to challenge our own thinking and understand the perspectives of those with differing opinions. The episode offers valuable insights into the role of certainty in shaping our beliefs and its implications for democracy and civil discourse.Send us a Text Message.Support the Show.Show Notes:https://outrageoverload.net/ Follow me, David Beckemeyer, on Twitter @mrblog. There is some real news happening out there concerning threats from sources other than Trump. And there is a new fear that the Leftist narcissists are concocting if Trump get re-elected.
