In this week’s episode The Coaches Office welcomes Archbishop Spalding’s Head Football Coach Kyle Schmitt and Milford Mill Academy’s Head Football Coach Reggie White Sr. During “The Football News” segment, the Coaches and their guest chime in on The University’s Arkansas Head Football Coach Bret Bielema’s proposal to the NCAA to allow undrafted underclassmen to return to their schools to finish out their eligibility. The Coaches were split down the middle on this issue. One of the most controversial topics in High School football is whether or not Private School Football is more competitive or even better than Public School football. In “The Ask the Coaches” segment the Baltimore area based Coaches go back and forth on this issue. Coach Schmidt has an interesting perspective on the topic because before becoming the Head football coach at Archbishop Spalding he was a public school coach at Atholton High School in Howard County, Maryland. Coach White is currently the longest active tenured coach in Baltimore County, Maryland and is frequently approached by Private Schools in Maryland and beyond to become their Head Coach. So, it was interesting to hear his perspective on this controversial but fun topic. Managing the balance of family life and football was one of the topics in “The It’s Whatever” segment. The Coaches shared stories about how they individually approach this almost impossible task. The NBA came up once again, and the coaches discuss whether or not it was a conspiracy that the Cleveland Cavaliers purposely loss to the Toronto Raptors in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals for TV ratings. The show closes with Coach White calling out Coach Trog about his take on the current Golden State Warriors beating the “96” Chicago Bulls in a game or series.
