As reported by South Carolina 247's John Whittle, South Carolina has hired Coastal Carolina's Kevin Schnall as its baseball coach. Schnall was 93-36 in two years in Conway and guided the Chanticleers to a runner-up finish at the 2025 College World Series before falling in the Tallahassee Regional this season. Coach highlights significant optimism for the University of Tennessee's upcoming 2026 football season, focusing heavily on the stability and experience of the offensive coaching staff. A major asset for the team is the complete return of the offensive staff, led by head coach Josh Heupel. Key position coaches—including the offensive coordinator/quarterback coach, the offensive line coach, and the tight ends coach—boast long-standing relationships with Heupel dating back to their tenures at Oklahoma, UCF, and Missouri. This multi-year continuity within the system at Tennessee is viewed as a massive, invaluable advantage that provides a strong foundation for the team. After a career that spanned stints in the NFL, XFL and the CFL, former Temple quarterback P.J. Walker announced his retirement earlier this month at the age of 31. The Owls' all-time leading passer joined us on the podcast this week to reminisce about his time on North Broad Street with former head coach Matt Rhule, who later became his NFL head coach with the Carolina Panthers. At commencement after commencement this month, the class of 2026 — the AI-native graduates — have been booing speakers who frame AI as the next industrial revolution. UCF. Middle Tennessee State. University of Arizona, where former Google CEO Eric Schmidt was met with sustained dissent. These graduates use AI more than any cohort in history. And they are angry.Unemployment for 20-to-24-year-olds is 7.6 percent. Overall unemployment is 4.3 percent. The class graduating this month is entering a labor market visibly worse for them than for everyone else. The 50-year-old executive on stage is telling them the rope they're being told to climb is good for them. They aren't a generation that doesn't get it. They're a generation that gets it first.At Glendale Community College in Phoenix, an AI announcer was assigned to read the graduates' names — the single ceremonial moment of a four-year debt-funded ritual. It mispronounced names. It skipped names. Then the administration explained the AI system had done that. That's not an edge case. That's every AI deployment going forward. Vendor sells it, institution buys it, user gets the harm, explanation is "the model did that."The class of 2026 didn't become anti-AI. They became anti-being-lied-to about AI.Eric Schmidt funded a meaningful slice of the industry. He gets in front of 22-year-olds and tells them the future is bright. They boo him not because they don't know the topic, but because they've spent their senior thesis arguing about exactly what he's selling. The expert pitches novelty. The audience has already lived through it. Mother's Day arrives on the heels of one of the fullest Sundays of the year at McGregor.   Around McGregor hosts Mark, Tamar, and Christian look back on last Sunday, which included 17 baptisms across two services, senior recognition for graduating high school students, the introduction of incoming Family Ministry Minister Mike Hess, and a 400-person member meeting that welcomed 34 new members into the church family. They also celebrate Tamar's son graduating from UCF and look ahead to the church golf tournament, potential teacher training, the middle school sneak peak, the next prospective member class, and Vacation Bible School.   Through it all, last week was a reminder that Christ continues to build His church, and Mother's Day is a chance to thank God for the mothers who keep pointing their kids toward Jesus.
