Nikola Jokic's Injury DEVASTATES Gil's Arena as The Gil's Arena Crew react to the Denver Nuggets superstar going down with a hyper extended knee that will sideline him for at least 1 month and debate what this means for the perennial NBA MVP Candidate just 1 game after his historic 55 point Triple Double on Christmas Day. Next, they celebrate LeBron James' birthday as the Los Angeles Lakers' superstar turns 41 years old today and react to the King saying he's whipping father time with his continued high caliber play this late in his career before breaking down the Lakers snapping their losing streak as LeBron & Luka learn to play without Austin Reaves. After that they react to the San Antonio Spurs dropping 2 straight games after re-inserting Victor Wembanyama into the starting lineup and break down Kawhi Leonard balling after the Los Angeles Clippers lifted his minutes restrictions, sparking a debate over if the Clippers can rely on their franchise player moving forward or if they should try and sell high. In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are coming together for a special Christmas Eve edition of the Peristyle Podcast, talking about historic rivalry between USC and Notre Dame being paused. After the news broke on Monday that the Trojans and the Fighting Irish wouldn't be playing for the foreseeable future, the reactions came in from all across the college football landscape. Ryan and Connor give their thoughts on why this series is taking a hiatus, how the blame for the pause should be distributed and if they feel these programs will ever meet on the gridiron again. Reaction from the Trojan family has been mixed, with strong opinions on both sides. We have heard from former players and long-time fans that hate that the series isn't going to continue. We also heard from other fans and major media personalities that feel it is in USC's best interest to drop the game and focus on the Big Ten schedule and making the College Football Playoffs. The guys also preview the Alamo Bowl game between USC and TCU, from what the Trojans roster could look like and who they will be facing off against in San Antonio. There have also been a few new names that declared they will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal and plenty of Trojan players that have resigned with the team. The former BYU hooper on AJ Dybantsa, His first triple double last night, Should he be considered the definitive #1 pick (?), Is BYU ready for Big 12 play (?) + more
After a shaky start at Pinnacle Bank Arena against North Dakota, Jack and Kaleb try to identify what went so right in the second half that went so wrong in the first half (hint: not missing a million 3s).But the wild swings between halves were overshadowed by Berke Buyuktuncel getting the program's fourth-ever Triple Double, and you won't believe when Jack said he predicted it.Plus, whatever happened to sleepy, sparse crowds during Holiday Break buy games? Finally, the NCAA Tournament Meter admittedly didn't move much, but it somehow still created controversy about Jack's fatalism. Yet somehow, this accusation was being leveled as Jack was describing his fantasy about the next four weeks of the season, and, well, it's out there. Join hosts Will Alimonos and Zach Bishop for a wide-ranging, hour-plus episode covering everything from Thanksgiving weekend football to college coaching drama and Feast Week college basketball. The guys open with holiday banter, recap their football-watching (and dessert-eating) routines, then dive into the shockers from Thanksgiving: Cowboys over Chiefs, a flurry of upsets that wiped out a parlay and the growing sense that the NFL playoff picture is chaotic and wide open. The hosts break down notable NFL storylines — Chiefs' struggles, the rise of the Bears, Patriots and Cowboys as contenders, surprising underdog first-half outcomes, and game-by-game previews and picks (Dallas vs. Detroit, Seattle vs. Atlanta, Titans at Browns, Miami at the Jets, Buffalo vs. Cincinnati and more). Will and Zach also share betting takes and results (including a lost parlay, a perfect week on some first-half underdog plays, and this week's wagers: Colts moneyline and a Dallas first-half underdog bet). Shifting from the pros, Will and Zach tackle the college football coaching carousel: Lane Kiffin's LSU move, the messy consequences of midseason coaching changes, transfer portal timing, and whether the current cycle of rapid firings and hires can — or should — be reined in. They debate fits for programs, booster influence and the long-term toll on teams and fans. The podcast then pivots to college basketball's Feast Week, previewing the top 10 games of the week and offering quick picks and reasoning for marquee matchups (Arizona vs. Auburn, Gonzaga at Kentucky, UConn at Kansas, Duke at Michigan State, and more). The hosts discuss teams to watch, KenPom indicators, matchup concerns, and which early-season results are meaningful versus fluky. Finally, there's a brief NBA minute (can the Thunder chase the Warriors' win record?), listener calls to subscribe and follow on social, and an energetic sign-off. Expect spirited takes, betting insights, game predictions, and hot takes on coaching moves — a one-stop episode for football bettors, college hoops fans, and anyone tracking the late-season NFL shake-up.
Portland Trailblazers vs. Toronto Raptors NBA Pick Prediction by Tony T. Trailblazers vs. Raptors Injuries Henderson, Holiday, Thybulle and Wesley are out for Portland with Clingan questionable. The Trailblazers shot 39% with 33% from three. Deni Avdija led the team with 31 points with a Triple Double.
On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are back in studio recapping USC's 29-10 victory over UCLA, capping a 9-3 season for the Men of Troy and a likely trip to San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl and an opportunity to win 10 games. With star wide receivers Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane suspended for the first quarter for violating team rules, the offense struggled in the first half and only managed to put one touchdown on the board. Things picked up in the second half for USC, with the offense putting up points and the defense pitching another shutout, dashing UCLA's hopes of an upset bid in the Battle for Los Angeles. The guys breaks down the game, talking about how missing the top-2 receivers set the offense back in the first half and some of the defensive struggles that led to the Bruins taking the lead in a game for the first time in 40 days. After halftime quarterback Jayden Maiava settled in and found his two stars, Lemon for a 32-yard touchdown and Lane on a couple of crucial drive-extending catches. King Miller also ran well, finishing with 124 yards rushing, 42 receiving and two total touchdowns, earning him USC's player of the game. Finishing the regular season 9-3 is better than most expected, but in some ways it still feels like a disappointment with the opportunity to make the College Football Playoffs just a missed field goal at Illinois away. The guys take a look at the season as a whole and discuss why Lincoln Riley said this campaign was an important springboard towards the future success of this Trojan football team. In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern India Otto are back in studio following USC's disappointing 42-27 loss at Oregon, knocking the Trojans out of the College Football Playoff picture. The loss only dropped SC two spots in the latest CFP top-25 rankings, but with three losses there is essentially no chance to climb up into the top-11 to secure one of the at-large spots. The Trojans will wrap up the regular season with an opportunity to go 9-3, facing off against crosstown rival UCLA in the Coliseum Saturday afternoon. The Bruins started the season looking like the worst team in the country, fired head coach DeShaun Foster, named Tim Skipper as the interim head coach, fired offensive coordinator Tino Sunseri, named Jerry Neuheisel as the play caller and then did the impossible, beat No. 7 Penn State. The Bruins went on to beat Michigan State and Maryland, then came crashing back down to earth, losing the last four games by a combined 129 points. The crew gives their thoughts on the concerns coming out of the Oregon game, the potential for overlooking the Bruins, where the team is health wise and Lincoln Riley's future with the USC football program. With the playoffs off the table, they also discuss which bowl games are the most likely and who some of the potential opponents could be. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern Riley Sager are back in studio recapping USC's 42-27 loss to Oregon, knocking the Trojans out of the College Football Playoff picture. Facing the No. 7 ranked Ducks, the No. 15 Trojans needed to play a clean game in Autzen Stadium and unfortunately it was anything but from Lincoln Riley and company. Major special teams blunders, including a leaping penalty on a punt and punt return for a touchdown, put points directly on the board for Oregon and that was simply too much for the Trojans to overcome. The crew breaks down the game, discussing what went right for the Men of Troy and what went wrong, and how the Ducks provided a real opportunity for an upset with some sloppy play of their own. Offensively USC put up 100 more passing yards than any of Oregon's opponents this season, but Jayden Maiava did have two costly interceptions and the run game was essentially non existent. Defensively USC played better in the second half but just couldn't get enough stops to slow down the Ducks potent offense. Special teams was an absolute disaster, starting with a kickoff out of bounds, a kick catch interference call, leaping that took away a USC stop and led to a Ducks touchdown, giving up a punt return for a touchdown and then a missed short field goal. At a minimum that cost USC 17 points in a game it lost by 15. Despite the loss, the potential for 10 wins is still a major improvement over last season, but being unable to pull off a win in any of the three toughest road games is a tough pill to swallow for the Trojans. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern Riley Sager are back in studio recapping the Trojans 26-21 come from behind victory over the Hawkeyes in a stormy Coliseum. The weather favored the visitors, with heavy rains bogging down the playing surface and adding extra challenges to the passing attacks. Iowa jumped out to an early lead, surprisingly through the air, and kept USC off-balance for most of the first half. Head coach Lincoln Riley and his squad got things right in the second half, shutting down the Hawkeyes on offense and utilizing wide receivers Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane, allowing USC to overcome Riley's largest halftime deficit in the Coliseum. Connor and Riley have finally dried out and talk about their experiences in a rare rain game in the Coliseum and how the Trojans fought through adversity, showed some toughness and grit and delivered what Riley called a "culture win" for USC. The USC Triple-Double Podcast -- the Peristyle Podcast's basketball-focused podcast -- returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down the strong start of the 2025-26 season for the Trojans' men and women's basketball programs, including a top 10 win on the East Coast for the Women of Troy. Shotgun and Connor talk about the outstanding comeback victory over No. 9 North Carolina State in Charlotte that saw the USC women score the final eight points of the game, closing out the game with four minutes of scoreless defense and a game-winning bucket from freshman Jazzy Davidson with 8.2 seconds remaining. The podcasting duo also take a look at the USC men getting a pair of blowout wins that saw three different players score 20+ points in the season opener against Cal Poly and seven different players score in double figures while putting up 114 points -- most since scoring 117 points against Arizona State in 1998 -- in a victory over Manhattan. Shotgun and Connor break down all four of the games with their patented Triple-Double segment. After a break, they look at where the two programs stand after the first week of the season and look forward to some intriguing matchups this weekend with the men taking on Illinois State in the Intuit Dome in a multi-team event and the women facing off Dawn Staley's No. 2 South Carolina squad in Crypto.com Arena in what could be a second- or third-weekend NCAA tournament preview. The USC Triple-Double concludes with a look at the signing classes for each program as the Women of Troy signed the No. 1 player in the nation for the third time in four years and one of the top international players while Eric Musselman's staff went twinning, signing the sons of a former NBA elite rim protector. In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern India Otto are back in studio following USC's victory over Northwestern on Friday night in the Coliseum, with the Trojans pouring it on in the second half. The victory was an important one where the offense got back on track and the defense for the second week in a row played much better in the third and fourth quarters. Sitting at 7-2 overall and 5-1 in Big Ten play, USC is set up for a run at the College Football Playoffs if it can win the final three games on the schedule. First up on that run for a playoff berth is Iowa, coming up a last-second loss at home to Oregon. The Hawkeyes want to slow the game down, play defense and make some plays on special teams while the Trojans like to open things up and make big plays up and down the field. It will be a clash of styles in the Coliseum with a higher spot in the Big Ten hierarchy on the line. The crew gives their thoughts on how the team performed against Northwestern and looks ahead to the showdown with Iowa. Can the Trojans build off the past two B1G victories and take down a Hawkeyes squad that doesn't make many mistakes and takes advantage of any mistakes their opponents make? On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern Riley Sager are back in studio recapping Saturday night's USC's 21-17 comeback "Blackout" victory over Nebraska in Lincoln. It was not the cleanest game for Lincoln Riley and the Trojans, but it was an important result that was desperately needed. Now at 6-2 and 4-1 in Big Ten play, No. 20 USC's hopes of reaching the College Football Playoffs are still alive with three home games and one road trip to Eugene left on the schedule. The crew gives their thoughts on some of the key storylines from the game, including an amazing performance by walk-on running back King Miller. Making just his second start, Miller ran for 129 yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts and was the main weapon for the Trojans offense with Jayden Maiava having an off night. The defense stepped up and made plays after Nebraska's opening drive touchdown, forcing a sack/fumble that knocked Dylan Raiola out of the game and coming up big in the second half, only allowing a single field goal to the Huskers. Kicker Ryon Sayeri was also one of the stars of the evening, hitting both of his field goals including one that was just shy of 50 yards. The steady redshirt freshman from Chaminade High School has converted on 14 of his 15 field goal attempts and has been an absolute weapon for USC this season That was the Trojans second Big Ten plane ride road trip victory of the season and Riley and company have a quick turnaround, facing the 5-3 (3-2 B1G) Northwestern Wildcats Friday night in the Coliseum coming off of their bye week.
