Bryan Matthews, Caleb Jones and Jay G. Tate reconvene to discuss the most pressing news, which today centers around the Tigers' big win over Ball State and if that performance actually means anything. Other things discussed: • Sixty-eight yards really isn't much. • Xavier Atkins is a complete and total G. • Keyron Crawford has really come alive, right? • Same for Sly Smith, who was a menace last weekend. • Are we happy or unhappy with Jackson Arnold? • Is Jeremiah Cobb actually better than Damari Alston? • What was Hugh Freeze talking about with the "straining" chatter? • What happens now at tailback with both Durell and (potentially) Damari out? • Corey and Chris Wells had a great time at Auburn this past weekend. • Is Georgia CB Lasiah Jackson on flip watch? • Shoutouts. The show is presented by VooDoo Wing Company with locations in Auburn, Mobile, Tuscaloosa, Florence, suburban Charlotte, Chapel Hill and Las Vegas. Bill Belichick has officially debuted in college football! The legendary NFL head coach is lauded as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, NFL head coaches of all-time. The entire off-season, all of the drama and the pomp and circumstance led up to Monday night. The stars came out, the stadium was packed and the North Carolina Tar Heels drove right down the field and scored on their first drive of the game. It all went down hill not too long after that, culminating in a deflating 48-14 loss to TCU. The Belichick Era did not get off to the start he, and many others, had hoped for. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss what went wrong, what surprised them about North Carolina and TCU, what they think TCU can accomplish this season and if they think North Carolina can turn it around this year. Later, the guys chat about Sunday night's electric matchup in Miami that saw the newly ranked fifth team in the country, Miami, take down the now ranked ninth team, Notre Dame. Is 'The U' back? Andy, Ross and Steven discuss this exact topic as they look at the Hurricanes' Sunday night performance and peek at what lies ahead for the team. They also give their thoughts on the Fighting Irish and what their season outlook is. Plus, they dive into Auburn's 38-24 win on Friday and talk about what that win did for Hugh Freeze. Finally, the latest AP Top 25 poll is out! Ross released his Top 10 on Monday and the latest AP poll came out today. Both rankings have the college football world fired up as fanbases clamor to explain why their team should be ranked higher. The guys discuss the rankings and explain why rankings this early are really just something to talk about. All of this and more on today's College Football Enquirer (1:36) - Belichick's debut falls flat(24:40) - What to think about Miami and Notre Dame(40:56) - Auburn's season outlook(43:19) - AP Top 25 poll explained Subscribe to the College Football Enquirer on your favorite podcast app:

On this episode of the JT Sports Podcast, JT reacts to the Colorado Buffaloes falling 27–20 to Georgia Tech and explains why the Colorado Buffaloes are stuck in an early identity crisis without Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. From the Colorado Buffaloes' run-first pivot to Deion Sanders' shaky clock management, I separate what's real from week-one noise. Then it's Nebraska Cornhuskers grit with Dylan Raiola's growth, plus Auburn Tigers vs Baylor Bears where Jackson Arnold's legs eased the heat on Hugh Freeze. I also challenge the “celebrity coach era” hype and torch the myth that a Group of Five auto-bid always fits a 12-best College Football Playoff. One sharp truth here is going to get fanbases tight—and I'm not pulling it back.

Week 1 has arrived! We get five straight days of college football to get started! What a wonderful time of year. Along with the excitement comes a lot of expectations from anxious fans waiting to see how the year plays out for their favorite teams. Someone with possibly the greatest amount of expectations is none other than Texas quarterback Arch Manning. The nephew of legendary NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning stepped foot onto campus two years ago with a mound of expectations. After two years of waiting, and short glimpses of what the future could hold, Manning will lead the top-ranked Longhorns into 'The Shoe' to face the defending national champions, third-ranked Ohio State. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss everything that led up to this moment for Manning and what they expect from him this season.Later, the guys discuss another era that begins to the east of Austin, in North Carolina. Chapel Hill to be specific. Legendary NFL head coach Bill Belichick begins his collegiate coaching career with the Tar Heels. Ross went to Chapel Hill during the offseason and spoke with Coach Belichick. Ross shares his insight from the conversation about the impact Coach is already having on his team and the university as a whole. Then they keep the discussion among the coaching ranks, but they move back west, as they dive into expectations for Deion Sanders in year three at Colorado. They discuss the misconceptions that Coach Sanders wasn't bought in at Colorado and how people should no longer question that. They also discuss what is different about this year's Colorado squad after losing Shedeur and Travis. As the show comes to a close, the guys chat about what coaches are on the hot seat heading into the season. They look to the SEC. More specifically, they look at Oklahoma's Brent Venables, Florida's Billy Napier and Auburn's Hugh Freeze. What do they have to do to keep their tenure going at their respective schools? Finally, Andy, Ross and Steven make their picks! Each host picking one game from the weekend. Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold and coach Hugh Freeze enter 2025 with much to prove. The Tigers have one of the best receiving combinations in the country in Cam Coleman and Eric Singleton. Coach Dave Aranda's Baylor Bears bring back a ton of experienced offensive standouts in quarterback Sawyer Robertson, running back Bryson Washington and wide receiver Josh Cameron. Auburn's defense allowed just 4.9 yards per play last year and is led by future NFL first-rounder Keldric Faulk, defensive back Kayin Lee and a host of other returnees. Baylor's defense was an issue last year, but the Bears did shave almost a point off of their 2023 scoring defense total.
