The SKAM Watch Podcast is a rewatch/relive/re-revel podcast about Julie Andem's groundbreaking Norwegian TV drama SKAM from friends Maryam, Sam and Alex. This is a safe SKAM stan space, so alt er love here.
Well, well, welllllll! Look what we have here: a new episode of The SKAM Watch Podcast! We're so happy to be back together to chat about Sana's boss era, Sana's mother's icon era and Yousef's betrayal era (not really, but you get us). It's been 900 years, but we're back! We missed you!
We're back! In this episode, we talk about Yousef's iconic dance, why Sana is so laser focused on getting that bus and Noora's hesitancy to have this needed "girl talk" with Sana. We love y'all, and we'll be back sooner than in six months, we swear.
It's here! Join us as we welcome the next (and final *tear*) season of SKAM. We love y'all, and we'll see you soon.
We're here! On this episode, we unpack everything that goes on in the season three finale of SKAM. It's been an emotional ride, y'all. We'll be back super soon with season four of The SKAM Watch Podcast!! xo
This is one of the shorter episodes of SKAM, but it's also one of the best (as we've said about every other episode, tbh). A content note: towards the end our discussion, we talk about suicide and our experience with friends who have passed. If that's not something you care to listen to, feel free to skip this episode. We love y'all. You can find us on Twitter @skamwatchpod. xo
In this episode, we go long because we have lots of feelings. For the seventh time in a row, we gush over Tarjei Sandvik Moe's acting. We share our different experiences with the story and why we think the last clip is just so fantastic. As always, you can find us on Twitter @skamwatchpod. Talk soon! xo
Sharing is caring! Following the so lovely scene between Isak and Jonas in episode six, Isak enters this episode with a firmer feeling about himself and his feelings for Even. He tells his friends he's into guys, and the guys are still into Isak. It's ideal but also real! As always, you can find us on Twitter @skamwatchpod. See you soon! xo
Hey! Welcome back! Today, we gush about how good of a friend Jonas is and why Julie Andem really did the damn thing with this episode's final scene. As always, you can find us on Twitter @skamwatchpod. See you soon! xo
This is, as we've said countless times before, one of our favorite episodes of SKAM ever. That soft scene in the bedroom! Eskild's history lesson! The locker room moment! The total devastation of Isak at the end! Join us as we re-explore season three, episode five! As always, you can find us on Twitter @skamwatchpod. We love you!
Wow, so, hey. It's been a while! We're back to discuss episode four of SKAM's third season. In this episode, we chat about Sana and Isak's convo about religion, our interest in Sonja and THAT iconic first kiss. As always, you can find us on Twitter @skamwatchpod. We love you, and THANK you for sticking with us!
Jonas is such a good friend. Isak takes a super unreliable online test to gauge his gayness. Even and Isak eyef!!! to Robyn. It's one of our fave episodes, y'all! As always, you can find us on Twitter @skamwatchpod. Love you!
It's all happening! In this episode of The SKAM Watch Podcast, we gush over Isak and Even's first official hangout. We all know it, we all love it and we talk about all that we know and love! As ever, you can find us on Twitter @skamwatchpod. Love you!
We're back! Saying we're stoked to start series three of SKAM is an understatement. We're very stoked! In this first episode discussing Isak's season, we talk about what we're gonna be on the lookout for in this re-watch, Alex starts part one of our never-ending "Wow, Tarjei is such a great fucking actor" speeches and Maryam tells us a lovely story about why she likes Sana and Isak's friendship so much. Hit us up on Twitter, please! We wanna chat. You can find us at @skamwatchpod. Until next time, we love y'all.
We did it! Noora's season concludes with some real world consequences for William, but our lovebirds are finally honest and finally together together. In this episode of the podcast, Maryam guesses Noora's Enneagram, Samantha poses that we still don't really know William and Alex eats some words re: Noora's love interest. Thank you for accompanying us on this re-exploration of season two! We adore y'all, and we'll be back real soon. You can find us on Twitter @skamwatchpod. xoxo
Welcome back to The SKAM Watch Podcast! Today, we're feeling penultimate vibes. In this episode, we get into William's family's history, cancel culture and stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. It's kinda intense, y'all! As always, you can hit us up on Twitter @skamwatchpod or Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com. Until next time, takk for alt. xo
Helllllo! On this episode of The SKAM Watch Podcast, we will be discussing S02E10. It's quite an intense episode and one of our all-time faves. A content note: due to the storylines in this episode, we do have discussions in this podcast about sexual assault and mental health issues. If you want to skip this episode of the podcast because of that, that's cool with us.
In season two, episode nine, of SKAM, Noora navigates the aftermath of the night she spent at William's apartment. It's intense and so well-done, you all. A content note for this episode: given the events of the episode, we get into discussions about sexual assault and eating disorders, so if that's not something you want to listen to, we are totally down for you skipping this episode if you want.
It's been a while since our last recording, so hello! We are beyond excited to get back to Noora and the gals! On this episode of SKAM, Noora and William have a debrief/stalemate about the fact that William smashed a bloke over the head with a glass bottle (that's so intense, isn't it?) Noora realizes she's in love with William after all and, after an illuminating and boundlessly enjoyable convo with Sana, finally tells Vilde that she and William are a thing. This episode of SKAM is one of our favorites of the season, so we go all in gushing about it. As always, you can hit us up on Twitter @skamwatchpod or Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com. Until next time, takk for alt. xo
Surely, we've reached a breaking point. Noora and William are sneaking around school to avoid the public knowing about their romance, and, folks, that isn't sustainable. Meanwhile, Eva's bored and wants to know the tea on Isak, so she tasks Eskild with finding out Isak's deal, which is messy and fun but we've got questions. As ever, bless y'all for listening. We miss SKAM something fierce right now, so we wanna hear your thoughts on everything season two. Hit us up on Twitter @skamwatchpod or Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com. Until next time, takk for alt. xo
Last episode saw Noora and William finally kiss, and now we're opening this episode with them in bed together. Quick! Vilde knows but hasn't confronted Noora about it, and Noora's feeling pretttty shittttty about it all. Meanwhile, we meet William's creepy ass brother and get to learn a little more about Noora's family and maybe why she handles things the way she does. At the end of this episode, we make an announcement that will !CHANGE EVERYTHING!, so be sure to check that out.
Well, it's time for Noora to finally sit in her feelings for William and realize that she's a touch smitten. There's a bridge! There's a charity fundraiser for Syrian refugees! There's the talk of maybe paying to hook up with a Penetrator! It's a doozy of an episode. Thanks for joining us on this journey into season two, you all! We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us on our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or on Twitter at @skamwatchpod Alt er love, and long live los losers.
It's Easter break for the girls, so they all head to Chris's grandma's cabin in the woods. Things get spoooOoooky, real and lol. Wow! It's been a while, but we have returned to discuss S02E03 of SKAM. In this episode, we are recipients of the iconic Noora Amalie Sætre rendition of "More Than Words," and we're all better for it. Vilde finds out William went on a date and starts to try to identify the object of her jealousy - not realizing it lies closer than she suspects. Eva puts two and two together and gets IT'S NOORA THAT WENT ON THAT DATE WITH WILLIAM! Meanwhile, William hosts a party and shit! gets! real! We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us on our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Well, it's been in play for months, and now it's happening. Noora finally goes on that date William was asking her to, and we get *shock/horror* a look into William's roundedness (because we all have that, you know?) Some girls are aflutter after hearing of a new skill Jonas acquired, and Eva starts to realize that maybe she's feeling a way about him seeing other people. We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Halla! It's time for Noora's season, y'all, and we're excited to dive into everything. In this first episode, Noora is out to protect Vilde, being a little messy in the process. But, hey, that's life, and they're young. We're all young in a way, aren't we? We get to see the iconic entrance of Noora's roommate Eskild as we expand the world of SKAM to see Noora's home life. Bless you all so much for joining us on this journey. We're feeling refreshed* after the new year, and we're quite pleased to be back with y'all to re-live Julie Andem's groundbreaking second season of SKAM! We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Wow. And just like that, season one of Julie Andem's SKAM is over. We've had a wild ass ride rewatching this first season. Everyone looks so young! Everyone still has to grow into themselves! Etc.! We thought we needed to properly debrief from Eva's season before jumping into Noora's, so that's what we did! As ever, bless all of you for listening and following along with us! We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers. We'll be back vvvvvvvv soon!
This is it, y'all. This episode is home to one of our all-time favorite scenes of SKAM - that discussion between Eva and Jonas. Elsewhere in the episode, Vilde figures out what's really going on with herself, William comes in hot and Isak has a few tabs open on his phone. We cannot thank y'all enough for listening to us relive/relove this first season of SKAM. We're gonna be coming back with an episode of us gushing about the first season and all the things we discovered upon this rewatch before we make our way into Noora's season. We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
In our last episode, Iben revealed one little detail that Eva was ignorant to - that Isak was the one who first told about Eva and P Chris hooking up. Eva is, rightfully, liviiiiiiid and goes in pursuit of Isak, who's having a tough time with his parents at the moment. Because she's ultimately a beautiful person, Eva gives Isak his space before she lays the fuck into him at a Christmas party. It's tense, and we've got some questions about their kitchen convo. Elsewhere, Vilde is having a moment, having a drink and having a confession. It's juicy. We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
In the words of Penetrator Chris this episode is chock full of Drammaaaaa. Vilde's leaving the bus. Eva's changing schools. And girls do something disgusting with bodily fluids. We dive deep into writing your personal narrative, and how we (and Eva) let life events define us. Between the three of us, we almost make one healthy person, so excuse the coughs and join us for another episode! We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Well, well, welllllll. We somehow found ourselves on an unanticipated hiatus because each of us got sick at different times over the last month, but we're back now and better than gd ever! To ease you (and, tbh, us) back into the show, we decided to record a little bumper episode where we warn you about the dangers of Salmonella, discuss our official thoughts on all these upcoming remakes of SKAM (Simon Fuller, hit us the fuck uppppp) and wonder if we're actually doing this glorious show justice. We're so happy to be back together and in your ears! Our next episode will be a continuation of our dissecting of season one, so prepare, etc. We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Eva tried to keep it undercover, but the truth, they say, always comes out. Eva is stressy af because Jonas isn't responding to her texts AND SHE JUST WANTS TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED. Isak appears to comfort Eva, but then looks off into the distance while he's reassuring her.... dot dot dot. What does it all mean? Vilde is very concerned about how the others at school will respond to Eva's lil mishap, and she's being pretty ott and slut shamey about it, especially after learning a little nugget of information about Eva and Ingrid and Jonas that is, honestly, a revelation. Meanwhile, Wilhelm's claws begin their slow puncture. This episode features two ICONIC music moments - "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap and "Lover, Where Do You Live" by Highasakite. As ever, we love each and every one of you for listening to us and letting us know what you think of the show. It's important to keep this SKAM fire burning (forever). We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Eva is a sack of nerves hoping and praying and wishing that no one knows about what she and Penetrator Chris did at the Halloween party. She takes the PDA up to an 11 and makes a skate park confession to Isak that is, honestly, so ill-advised. Across the schoolyard, Vilde's been branded by a sweatshirt that she initially thinks is really cute and then discards once she realizes how gross and sexist it all is. She confronts William (kinda, huh?), but Noora really steps in to make sure William knows what the girls think of him and his little philandering ways (for now). And then we cap the episode off with Eva getting the shit knocked out of her. :( We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Well, y'all, we're here. It happens. Eva asks Ingrid for some information, Ingrid exaggerates because she's hurt and Eva acts impulsively. It's intense, but we've all been there, right? Before all that, though, Vilde regales the gals with her sexploit with William, and Sana gives some tough love. Also, is Isak a calculated snake the whole time, or does he just stumble into decisions based on things he's not willing to admit just yet? S01E06 a bigggg episode, and we're stoked to discuss it. We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com or our Twitter at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Jonas is salty af that Eva bailed on the "meet the mama" dinner plans but doesn't have the emotional capacity to tell Eva in plain Norwegian his feelings. He's young! But that's not an excuse. Full disclosure, we go innnn on Jonas in this episode. Who's to blame for the issues in their relationship? We have a lil heated heart to heart to heart re: that very topic. Meanwhile, Vilde sets out on a mission to lose her virginity to William, with the help of Eva and Noora and a trained medical professional. Do y'all feel everything building up, tension wise? Because we certainly do. As ever, thanks for listening! We feel like we're hitting a stride here, and we cannot appreciate y'all listeners enough.
Vilde and Sana know that for the girls to get ~in~, they've gotta befriend the school hotties, so Sana follows Penetrator Chris from Eva's Instagram, and things kinda kick offff, don't they? We're stoked for this episode because it features that ICONIC party arrival - officially ending all our faves and redefining what it means to walk down a street. Thanks so much for listening to our SKAM chats, y'all! We sincerely appreciate it, and all of yall's feedback on social media is giving us pure life. xo We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com. And we have a Twitter now, which is fun. Find us at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Eva's back from the cabin and feeling some type of way re: Jonas and his texting. Noora accepted Eva's friend request on Facebook, so it's on with that friendship, y'all! And quickly, the group assembles with the addition of Vilde, Chris and Sana. We're beyond thrilled that the girls are together now and plotting their bus - even if things start a bit icy for a couple people. We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com. And we have a Twitter now, which is fun. Find us at @skamwatchpod. Alt er love, and long live los losers.
Three's company, four's a crowd? Something like that. Eva, Isak and Jonas head to a very cute little cabin by the lake for their fall break, and intellectual bullying, texting paranoia and Jason Mraz ensue. It's S01E02 of SKAM, and, y'all, we have v different opinions about it. We want you to join in our conversations, so get in touch with us through our Tumblr at theskamwatchpodcast.tumblr.com. It's the first ever episode of SKAM, and we've got heaps to chat about. From Jonas's eyebrows to Eva's grades to Isak's lowkey angling to Penetrator Chris's fedora, there's a lot going on in this premiere. Let's get into it, shall we?
