Clare County Council is reassuring that jobs will be protected under a new deal which will result in the outsourcing of retail, food and beverage services at its newly acquired Shannon Heritage sites. As part of a corporate restructuring of Shannon Heritage DAC, the local authority will be appointing two specialist operators for the services at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Craggaunowen, Knappogue Castle and the retail unit at the Cliffs of Moher Experience. The Council has confirmed that all 66 full-time and part-time employees will be transferred to the new operators in April 2024 and that staff pay and conditions will be protected under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations. A tender process is due to get underway in December, with the sccuessful companies to commence operating in May next year. However, SIPTU Divisional Organiser Rachel Keane has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that staff need urgent clarity on the future of their positions. Statement From Clare County Council: As part of a corporate restructuring of Shannon Heritage DAC, Clare County Council has confirmed it will be appointing two specialist retail, food and beverage operators for its newly acquired visitor attractions. A key requirement of the operating conditions will be that all future service providers must support local suppliers and producers in Clare. All 66 employees, including 31 Full Time and 35 Part Time workers, will be transferred to the new operators in April 2024. Staff pay and conditions are protected under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations, also known as TUPE. This restructuring follows the tried and tested business model at the Cliffs of Moher Experience where specialist retail and food operators are already in place. Two tender processes for retail and the provision catering services, including banqueting food preparation and food and beverage operations, will commence in December 2023 at the Shannon Heritage sites. It is anticipated the successful companies will commence operating in May 2024. Clare County Council's ongoing commitment to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Craggaunowen, Knappogue Castle and the retail unit at the Cliffs of Moher Experience is reflected in a €14.7m capital investment being made in 2023 and 2024. The Local Authority, supported by government, has already invested more than €4m in Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Craggaunowen, Knappogue Castle and the retail unit at the Cliffs of Moher since the Shannon Heritage properties were transferred from The Shannon Airport Group in May 2023, while €2.9m has been invested in upgrading the Vandeleur Walled Garden and Visitor Centre in Kilrush. An additional €7.8m has been earmarked for investment during 2024 in the Clare County Council owned portfolio of attractions, which includes Inis Cealtra (Holy Island Visitor Experience) in Mountshannon, the Cliffs of Moher Experience and Loop Head Light house.

On the version of Hot off the Wire posted Nov. 14 at 7 a.m. CT: A major rally will take place Tuesday at the National Mall in Washington in support of Israel. Gaza's largest hospital, Shifa, is surrounded by Israeli troops and the lives of dozens of patients, including newborns, are at risk. The Health Ministry in the Hamas-run territory proposed Tuesday that the facility be evacuated under the supervision of the Red Cross. WASHINGTON (AP) — The last time Congress tried to fund the government to prevent a federal shutdown, it cost House Speaker Kevin McCarthy his job. This time, new Speaker Mike Johnson appears on track for a better outcome. On Tuesday, the House is expected to vote on another stopgap package to keep the government running. If approved, the Senate would act next, ahead of Friday's shutdown deadline. A new international report says the world is off track in its efforts to curb global warming in 41 of 42 important measurements and is even heading in the wrong direction in six crucial ways. Tuesday's report shows the only bright spot is global sales of electric passenger vehicles is now on track to help limit future warming to just another couple tenths of a degree. Study authors say public money spent to create more fossil fuel use is going in the wrong direction and faster than it has in the past. WASHINGTON (AP) — Inflation in the United States likely remained high last month, a trend that if sustained could raise concerns at the Federal Reserve, which is considering whether to raise interest rates again. Still, cheaper gas might have slowed a broad measure of overall inflation in October. Excluding volatile food and energy prices, core inflation is forecast to have risen 0.3% from September to October for a third straight month. Monthly increases at that pace would be too high to meet the Fed's 2% annual inflation target. Economists pay particular attention to core prices, which are believed to provide a good signal of inflation's likely future path. LONDON (AP) — Britain's cybersecurity agency says artificial intelligence poses a threat to the country's next national election. The National Cyber Security Center also says cyberattacks by hostile countries and their proxies are proliferating and getting harder to track. The center said Tuesday in its annual review that “this year has seen the emergence of state-aligned actors as a new cyber threat to critical national infrastructure” such as power, water and internet networks. The center is part of Britain's cyberespionage agency, GCHQ. It said the past year also has seen the emergence of cyberattackers who are "sympathetic to Russia's further invasion of Ukraine and are ideologically, rather than financially, motivated.” Denver knocks off Buffalo on Monday Night Football, the Celtics and Bucks were among key NBA winners, an upset in college basketball, a pair of games in the NHL, and MLB hands out rookie of the year awards. On the version of Hot off the Wire posted Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. CT: Fighting between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants outside Gaza's largest hospital has prompted thousands of people to flee from the medical facility. But health officials said Monday that hundreds of patients and others displaced by the war remained inside. President Joe Biden said Shifa hospital “must be protected” and called for “less intrusive action” by Israeli forces. WASHINGTON (AP) — The new Supreme Court code of conduct agreed to by all nine justices does not appear to impose any significant new requirements on them. The code leaves compliance to the justices themselves and does not create any other means of enforcement. The Supreme Court disclosed the code on Monday, in the face of sustained criticism over undisclosed trips and gifts from wealthy benefactors to some justices. The justices say the code largely represents a codification of principles they've long regarded as governing their conduct. Liberal critics of the court were not satisfied, with one group saying the code “reads a lot more like a friendly suggestion than a binding, enforceable guideline.” SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Prosecutors are bringing forward law enforcement officials to discuss video that's at the crux of their case against the man accused of attacking former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband at the couple's San Francisco home last year. The trial against David DePape is in it's second day. Paul Pelosi is expected to testify. DePape has pleaded not guilty to attempted kidnapping of a federal official and assault on the immediate family member of a federal official with intent to retaliate against the official for performance of their duties. His attorney told jurors last week that she won't dispute that DePape attacked Paul Pelosi, but that the charges don't fit. WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says Jill Biden will be in charge of a new initiative to boost federal government research into women's health. Women make up more than half the U.S. population but advocates say they remain understudied and underrepresented in health research. The first lady and other officials say the goal of the White House Initiative on Women's Health Research is to fundamentally change the government's approach. The first lady said former California first lady Maria Shriver raised the idea for the initiative during a meeting earlier this year. Jill Biden says she brought the idea to President Joe Biden and he took action. SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — One of the highest ranking leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has died. M. Russell Ballard was 95. Ballard was acting president of a top governing body called the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, the church's second-highest leadership body. He was second in line to the church presidency. A church statement says Ballard died Sunday surrounded by family at his home. Ballard had been a member of the Quorum since 1985. He was the quorum's acting president since 2018. He is survived by his seven children, 43 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Exxon Mobil is drilling for lithium in Arkansas and expects to begin production of the critical material for electric vehicles by 2027. Exxon on Monday announced the project and said by 2030 it expects to produce enough lithium to supply the manufacturing needs of more than 1 million electric vehicles. The oil giant in early 2023 acquired the rights to 120,000 gross acres of the Smackover formation in southern Arkansas. The formation is considered one of the most prolific lithium resources of its type in North America. The project comes as the U.S. faces a greater need for lithium sources to meet its clean energy goals. NEW YORK (AP) — Maryanne Trump Barry, a retired federal judge and former president Donald Trump's oldest sister, has died at age 86 at her home in New York. Until her retirement in 2019, Barry was a senior judge on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a level below the Supreme Court. Trump's campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But the former president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. called it “a rough day for myself and my family” after he spent Monday testifying in a civil fraud trial in New York. WASHINGTON (AP) — Secret Service agents protecting President Joe Biden's granddaughter have opened fire after three people tried to break into an unmarked Secret Service vehicle in Washington. That's according to a law enforcement official who spoke to The Associated Press on Monday. It happened late Sunday night in the Georgetown neighborhood. The official says the agents were assigned to protect Naomi Biden when they saw the three people breaking a window of the parked and unoccupied SUV. The Secret Service says one of the agents opened fire but did not strike anyone. Washington has seen a significant rise in the number of carjackings and car thefts this year. Kansas remained at No. 1 in the first Associated Press men's college basketball poll of the season. The Jayhawks received 51 first-place votes from a media panel and were followed by Purdue, Arizona, Marquette and Connecticut. Arizona had the biggest jump from the preseason poll, moving up nine spots after beating No. 9 Duke on the road. No. 24 James Madison moved into the AP Top 25 for the first time following a road win over No. 18 Michigan State. —The Associated Press About this program Host Terry Lipshetz is a senior producer for Lee Enterprises. Rom. 11:4 But what is the divine response to him? “I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” I doubt if many believers in the west have ever felt as if they were the only ones left who were devoted to Jesus. However, it may be possible that many of our brothers and sisters in countries where believers are killed or imprisoned could relate to Elijah. In Elijah's day, it appeared to the prophet that the nation of Israel had rejected God and His prophets, thus Elijah concluded God had rejected the nation and he alone was left. When Elijah thought he was alone and that God had rejected Israel, God told Elijah that He had kept 7000 men for Himself. This was Paul's answer to the question had God rejected Israel, God had kept for Himself 7000 men from national Israel who had not bowed the knee to the gods of the culture. The number 7 signifies belonging to God or perfection and the number 10 or any multiple thereof signifies the power of God. These men who have not bowed the knee to the idolatries of their culture have been chosen of God and protected by the power of God. This verse should be encouraging to all of us who have not bowed the knee to the gods of the culture in which we live. The glory belongs to God because He has chosen to save and protect us by the faith He has given us. In 1 Pet. 1:5, Peter echoed Paul's point here in Rom. 11:4. Speaking of the chosen, Peter said they are “protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” We live to love with Jesus by faith. That's how faith works. It keeps us from misplacing our worship and committing spiritual adultery and idolatry. Elijah's heart as well as the other 7000 was turned to God. When the purpose of our lives is to love with Jesus, it changes everything. That purpose keeps us humble and submitted to Christ, abiding in Him, and useful for bearing fruit for God's glory. I hope you can thank God with me for His powerful, preserving, grace. “Father, thank You for protecting us from the corruption that is in this world through lust by giving us a heart to believe in Your Son, by giving us faith by the power of the Holy Spirit whom You given to us, and by giving us grace to love You and others in Your name for Your glory. May we be faithful today to walk in the grace and faith You have given us. Amen. Acknowledgment: Music from “Carried by the Father” by Eric Terlizzi. www.ericterlizzi.com

So relax, And give yourself a moment to adjust and move until you find the most comfortable sleeping position. And when you've found it, Take a big, deep breath in, And as you exhale, Release all the heaviness on your heart, And fall deeper into your bed. PAUSE… You are a gorgeous, imperfect being of light. And as you journey through this life, You mess up. You make the wrong decisions, Say the wrong things, Take the wrong actions, And fall down hard. PAUSE… It's okay. It's okay to make mistakes, It's okay to be imperfect. We all are. So be here tonight, One with your breath, And plug into the wisdom of the universe, And forgive yourself. PAUSE… Forgiveness is the first step to accepting what is, And acceptance will allow you to open your heart to the lessons to be learned, So you can hold the mirror in front of you, Without judgements, And unlock the fears, The stories, And the beliefs that brought you here. So breathe and melt further into your bed, And cover yourself with the blankets of forgiveness tonight, Knowing that you are loved, Completely, Unconditionally, Just as you are. PAUSE… There is always a silver lining, Always a lesson to learn that will benefit us, Always cosmic beauty in what seems like chaos. So rest your head with peace in your heart tonight, beautiful, And know that everything will be okay. That you are exactly where you need to be. Breathe out the worries, And let go of the blame, And allow yourself to surrender to deep sleep. PAUSE… Imagine the wand of forgiveness tapping lightly on the crown of your head, Its soothing sparkles of magic relaxing you, As your eyes get heavier, Your cheeks soften, Your jaw releases, And your lips lightly part. PAUSE… Watch as that fairy-like wand travels down your face, And taps your shoulders, Your chest, And your arms, Causing them all to relax, And release. One by one. PAUSE… And as the beautiful wand of forgiveness continues, Feel its warm sparkles touch and heal your belly, Your hips, Your thighs, Your legs, And your feet. And feel them all deeply soften, And relax. PAUSE… Sink deeper into your bed, Covered in the blankets of forgiveness, Comforted by its warmth, Kindness, And grace. You are safe here, my love, Protected from your own inner demons who want to make you wrong, Shame you, And challenge your worth. Safe from others who want to hold you to a standard of perfection, Who want to make you less than, Or withhold grace. You are safe here, In the blankets of forgiveness. So melt into them, beautiful, And accept what is. PAUSE… Breathe… And fall deeply into the sleep you deserve, The sleep that will calm you, The sleep that will heal you, The sleep that will reconnect you to the extraordinary, imperfect soul you are. Sweet Dreams, Beautiful.

Let the sacred space of this meditation allow your mind, Your heart, And your spirit, To feel safe. So you can enter softly into the arms of deep sleep. So close your eyes, Giving them a tight squeeze for just a few seconds, And then release the tension, And feel the heaviness of your eyes settle into your face. It's okay to close your eyes, my love, You are safe here. PAUSE... Breathe… And see if you can imagine each part of your body melting into your bed, Like drops of rain merging with the ocean, Becoming one with your bed. Imagine your face relaxing, Your shoulders dropping, Your arms and hands heavily falling into your bed. Imagine your chest softening, Your stomach releasing, Your hips and legs and feet melting into the ocean of your bed. Breathe… PAUSE… I know you've been shaken, my love, Made to feel unsafe, Made to feel like the armor of protection around you has dissolved. Maybe your heart feels exposed, Maybe your body or your space feels vulnerable. It's okay to feel it all, beautiful. But here, in this moment, You are safe. And it's time to relax into the protective arms of sleep. PAUSE… So breathe it all out, All those swirling thoughts, Those what if's, Those anxieties. And find the safety of this present moment. PAUSE… Be here. And feel the warm, comforting arms of sleep wrap themselves around you, Like a soft blanket, Full of tenderness, Full of love, Full of safety. Breathe… And let yourself fall deeper into her arms. PAUSE… Feel those gentle arms of sleep around you, As you envision a big bubble forming around you, Around your bed, Around your home, Around your community. PAUSE… This bubble is strong, And keeps out anyone or anything that is causing you fear. Breathe in deep, And feel the weight of your worries release as you breathe out. PAUSE… Now imagine the people you love the most, coming calmly and gently into your bubble. Entering your safe space one by one, And fortifying it with their love. Feel their love enhance your bubble of safety, And ease you deeper into sleep. PAUSE… Relax, my love, And let that bubble keep out the thoughts, Keep out the worries, Keep out the emotions, And keep you here, In this moment, Protected, Loved, Safe. PAUSE… Let go, And sink deeper into sleep. Let go, And melt into the safety of this moment, The protection of this bubble, The love of your people, And the safety of deep sleep. Sweet Dreams, Beautiful.
