Tänään Mukilliselle Motivaatiota saadaan vieraaksi Noora Storlund.
In this episode of the Equestrian Performance Mindset Podcast, I and Lorna welcome Noora from Dubai to share her powerful journey as a young rider. From her first pony rides to endurance racing, showjumping setbacks, and breaking her leg just as her confidence was growing, Noora's story is one of resilience, courage, and transformation. She opens up about the fears, doubts, and setbacks that nearly stopped her from pursuing her passion, and the mindset tools that helped her come back stronger. You'll discover: How Noora went from falling off weekly to importing her dream horse Why breaking her leg became the turning point in realizing it was her mindset holding her back. The simple shifts that took her from fear and self-doubt to riding her first clear round in Nationals. Why redefining success changed everything in her riding. How her new mindset now impacts not only her riding, but also her studies, training, and everyday life. If you've ever thought “I'm not talented enough” or worried what others might think when you step into the arena, Noora's journey will inspire you to see that it's never just about talent, it's about mindset. Interview by Angela CroudaceFinnish powerhouse Battle Beast is set to unleash their seventh studio album, Steelbound, on October 17, and frontwoman Noora Louhimo says the record is their most empowering yet.Known for fusing classic heavy metal with symphonic flourishes, 80s-inspired rock, and soaring synths, the band continues to evolve while staying true to their mission of uplifting fans through music.“This album deals with serious issues—life, death, and human rights,” Louhimo explains. “But at its core, Steelbound is about empowerment. We want to encourage people to fight through challenges, whether big or small, and to feel strong enough to go on.” Songs like Last Goodbye reflect this ethos, drawing inspiration from bassist Eero's encounter with a fellow patient battling cancer. “It's about that relentless hunger for life and never giving up,” she adds.Louhimo's own transformation into her stage persona, “Mother Beast,” embodies this spirit. With her striking horns; symbols she describes as “horns of courage” and elaborate stage outfits, she seeks to inspire fans to embrace individuality. “I want people to show their horns, to be their true selves. You are enough just the way you are,” she says. For Louhimo, music is more than performance: it's a lifeline. “Culture is vital for mental health. If we don't have something to escape to, we don't have the strength to carry on. Music brings people together and helps us heal.”Vocally, she pushed her limits on tracks like Twilight Cabaret, which she calls a showcase of her full range. Yet, her focus remains on the bigger picture: uniting fans and advocating for equality. “Success doesn't come from fame or money—it comes from expressing yourself freely. That's my rebellion, and I hope to encourage others to do the same.”With Steelbound, Battle Beast delivers not just metal anthems but a rallying cry for resilience, individuality, and joy.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

The Jungle Ultra is Beyond the Ultimate's 5 day, 230km journey deep into the rainforests of Peru. Runners arrive in the historic city of Cusco, are escorted over the rugged Andes Mountains, and begin their journey in the Manu National Park, one of the most biodiverse areas on the planet. The area is beautiful but the terrain and the climate alone give this event a reputation for arguably being the toughest race on the BTU roster. Stage 4 in particular is notorious as possibly the hardest stage of any BTU race. In this episode, Will catches up with the winner Ben Harrison plus two more Jungle legends in the form of Jemma Harding and Mark Reilly. The trio recount the highlights, the challenges and their tips for success in such extreme environments. Mark was running for Reverse Rett, a charity looking to cure Rett Syndrome, a severe neurological disorder which effects his daughter. US circulates revised Gaza truce draft at UN but Israel objects https://www.trtworld.com/middle-east/live-blog-us-circulates-revised-gaza-truce-draft-at-un-but-israel-objects-18170639 The United States has circulated the revised draft of a UN Security Council resolution aimed at bringing about a ceasefire in Gaza, but Israel privately objected to its close ally's latest attempt to stop the genocidal war. The draft says the Security Council “welcomes the new ceasefire proposal announced on May 31, which is acceptable to Israel ... (and) calls upon Hamas to also accept it.” But an Israeli official said that the language overlooks Israel's stated aim of destroying Hamas. *) Sodomised to death: Stories of torture at Israel's Sde Teiman base emerge https://www.trtworld.com/middle-east/sodomised-to-death-stories-of-torture-at-israels-sde-teiman-base-emerge-18170660 A three-month investigation by The New York Times has unearthed severe torture and egregious human rights violations at an Israeli military base in Sde Teiman, southern Israel. Since the onset of Israel's genocidal war in Gaza, a chilling pattern of grotesque abuse has emerged within Sde Teiman's walls. Detainees, shackled by horror, have borne witness to unspeakable acts: sodomised with metal rods, jolted with electricity, and subjected to merciless beatings with batons, rifle butts, and handheld metal detectors. *) Outrage grows as RSF is blamed for killing 100+ in Sudan's Gezira https://www.trtworld.com/africa/outrage-grows-as-rsf-is-blamed-for-killing-100-in-sudans-gezira-18170661 Sudanese and international organisations and institutions have condemned the killing of over 100 civilians in the village of Wad al Noora in Sudan's Gezira state allegedly by paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. They are calling for an immediate investigation and accountability for those responsible. The Madani Resistance Committee, a local pro-democracy activists group, put the toll at “more than 104.” *) Ukraine to get $225M worth US weapons that Kiev can use inside Russia https://www.trtworld.com/us-and-canada/ukraine-to-get-dollar225m-worth-us-weapons-that-kiev-can-use-inside-russia-18170649 US officials said Washington will send about $225 million in military package to Ukraine. The officials said the aid includes munitions for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS, as well as mortar systems and an array of artillery rounds. Under a new US directive, Ukraine can use such weapons to strike across the border into Russia if Russian forces there are attacking or preparing to attack. And finally… *) Survey: 21% Germans prefer ‘more players with white skin' in national team https://www.trtworld.com/discrimination/survey-21-germans-prefer-more-players-with-white-skin-in-national-team-18170245 A new survey on German football and racism has sparked an intense debate in the country ahead of the Euro 2024 Championship. In a representative poll by public broadcaster ARD, 21% of Germans said they prefer to see more players with white skin in the national football team. Nearly 17% said they regret that the national team's current captain is a player with Turkish roots. Ronny Blaschke, a renowned expert on German football, said the outcome of the survey was not surprising, as racism in football has long been a serious problem, and was further exacerbated by the rise of the anti-immigrant far-right AfD party.

Recent events have compelled nonprofit organizations to change the way they get work done, how they deliver their services, and what they do to achieve a more just and equitable society. So, The Business of Giving has connected with those organizations that are doing this exceptionally well in a segment we call: The Paths Forward. Because there is more than just one way.
Mikä merkitys on elinympäristöllä onnistuneen muutoksen tekemisessä? In this episode, Noora and Mark discuss their work together on the spiritual dimension of sport. While there is growing literature on spirituality in health psychology and occupational psychology, it still remains a somewhat marginal topic in sport studies and especially sport psychology. The episode focuses on exploring what spirituality is, the challenges researchers face when trying to conceptualise it, and the role of culture when we discuss spirituality. Mark also defends a view that love has a spiritual dimension to it. The discussion draws on the book that Noora and Mark wrote together, Meaning and Spirituality in Sport and Exercise: Psychological Perspectives (Routledge, 2018). The book explores the many forms of spirituality in sport from a psychological perspective including experiences of transcendence and finding deeper meaning to moments of disjuncture such as career-threatening injury and ageing.

Garden. It invites us to sit down and watch things grow. It makes us work with gazillions of other species to make them flourish. Silent observation or site-specific, mindful labor can be a form of wondering: seeing magic in what's common and perceiving what's repetitive with new eyes. This is how Noora Sandgren, a visual artist and art educator from Finland, works in her family garden. She collaborates with climates, insects, and expired light-sensitive material to create cameraless photograms of shared chemistry of composting organic matter, microbes, human breaths, and sunlight. In this episode, Noora takes us to her garden where she wonders while taking lensless images and patiently waits for long exposures for the magic to happen.

On this podcast I have a full debrief with the eliminated contestants from ‘Australian Idol' 2023! We had our Top 8 performers cut down to 6 this week as two girls faced the public vote and were sent packing. ‘Noora' and ‘Angelina' both had very different challenges on the ‘Channel Seven' competition and while they wowed audiences at times - I really am looking forward to putting their 'Australian Idol' experience under the microscope. I will find out which judges gave the best advice and how that has helped with the exit from the show Then we will bring 'Angelina Curtis' into the podcast and equally get the inside story on her Idol journey! I will find out if her age was really a big factor in being ready for the show We will discuss her 'Australian Idol' influences and the surprising alumni who inspired her idol journey Angeliana will also discuss her pick to win the competition and why this person deserves the title of winner of 'Australian Idol' 2023. Noora talks about real-life examples of her ISFJ boyfriend using Ne and Si.
Noora's life is a little off track. She's an aspiring writer and amateur blogger in New York—which is a nice way of saying that she tutors rich Upper East Side kids and is currently crashing on her sister's couch. But that's okay. Noora has Leila, who has always been her rock, and now she has another major influence to lean on: Vinyl magazine. The pages of Vinyl practically raised Noora, teaching her everything from how to properly insert a tampon to which political ideology she subscribes to. So when she lands a highly coveted job as assistant to Loretta James, Vinyl's iconic editor-in-chief, Noora can't believe her luck. Her only dream is to write for Vinyl, and now with her foot firmly in the door and the Loretta James as her mentor, Noora is finally on the right path... or so she thinks. Loretta is an unhinged nightmare, insecure and desperate to remain relevant in an evolving media landscape she doesn't understand. Noora's phone buzzes constantly with Loretta's bizarre demands, particularly with tasks Loretta hopes will undermine the success of Vinyl's wunderkind digital director Jade Aki. The reality of Noora's job is nothing like she expected, and a misguided crush on the hot IT guy only threatens to complicate things even more. But as Loretta and the old-school print team enter into a turf war with Jade and the woke-for-the-wrong-reasons digital team, Noora soon finds herself caught in the middle. And with her dream job on the line, she'll need to either choose a side or form her own. Clever, incisive, and thoroughly fun, A Hundred Other Girls is an insider's take on the changing media industry, an ode to sisterhood, and a profound exploration of what it means to chase your dreams. Author Iman Hariri is in conversation with Gabrielle Korn. The conversation is moderated by Lance Morgan. _______________________________________________ Produced by Nat Freeman, Lance Morgan, & Michael Kowaleski. Noora Raj Brown always had a passion for all things creative, but as a child of immigrant parents who were fully immersed in the technology and medical fields, she didn't know where her creativity would take her. After a wide range of experiences and a very non-linear career path, Noora is now one of the key women behind Gwyneth Paltrow's booming modern lifestyle brand, Goop, and serves as the company's EVP of Brand.Goop has grown steadily into a multinational powerhouse that's valued over $250 million dollars and is a web destination for advice, guides, and features about beauty, style, and wellness. Outside of their website, they have a podcast, a docu-series on Netflix, brick-and-mortar locations, and also reach millions of followers daily on their social platforms. In today's episode, Noora shares valuable advice on jumpstarting your career when you feel lost, dealing with insecurities, and how to avoid burnout. Part of Goop's mission is to normalize uncomfortable conversations in order to improve people's lives, and they don't let any of the backlash they have received over the years deter them.
