A Yona of the Dawn (or Akatsuki no Yona) podcast.
We are finally back with our final episode! Until the end of the series, that is. We're talking about everything post-palace. As I mention in the beginning of the episode, wait to listen to this one if you're avoiding spoilers or anything not officially translated! **Please note that this episode is not fully edited. Frankly, my dad has been on a slow decline since the beginning of the year and is probably not going to make it much longer so I don't know when I'll have the time or energy to edit anytime soon. I didn't want to come back to this after a year, though, so I'm releasing it now. I apologize for any long pauses, awkward lulls where we try to figure out what to discuss next, or audio level issues. Mentioned in the episode: Where Your Heart Leads by Tavyn @jnowss on twitter @Ann_archyy on twitter (I don't know that we addressed your questions very well, but I appreciate you sending them in!) Alright, everyone. Stay safe. Thank you for listening. See you next time. Bye!
Part two of the Palace Arc is here! We talk at length about Yon-Hi's diary and dive into the morally grey realm of Soo-Won and Yona's dead parents. Then, we get a new character - Mei Nayan - and really struggle to figure out how to pronounce her name. If you're listening as these come out, thank you for your patience. I had a family emergency and wasn't able to edit for a while. You can, as always, find us on twitter or gmail @ theyonapod or tumblr @ theyonapodcast. Otherwise, we'll see you all next week for the final episode of the podcast (for now)!
Is this arc good? Unclear! Is it better than you probably remember it being? Almost definitely! This week, we're diving into the first half-ish of the Palace Arc. Everyone's having a no good very bad day (except for Kye-Sook), the drama is off the charts, and Hak doesn't make stupid decisions. It's great. Also discussed: Kung Fu Panda, asking saints to help football teams, and the Obiyuki Madness bracket (which is now halfway over but you can definitely still vote in the last few rounds if you want!) https://snowwhite-andtheknight.tumblr.com Speaking of, if you're curious about the Snowdrop fic I mentioned, here it is: https://archiveofourown.org/works/10508889 As always, come find us on twitter or gmail @theyonapod or tumblr @theyonapodcast. We'll see you next week for Yon-Hi's diary and, like, a little bit of stuff after that.
Jen is back to help up finish out the Kuelbo arc. We finally talk about the Big Damn Kiss, the incredibly sad end to this section, and writing smutty fanfiction. I have to assume everyone is caught up at this point, but super mild spoilers from 23:00-25:00 for the next arc. If you're interested, The Power of Love from Sailor Moon R the Movie: Promise of the Rose is here on youtube (or you can search for it since links don't always show up?). You can find Jen on tumblr and AO3 @sabraeal and twitter @sabraeal1. We are on gmail and twitter @theyonapod and tumblr @theyonapodcast. See you in a few weeks with the ~controversial~ palace/castle arc!
So...we tried something new. We attempted to cover 18 chapters. With a guest. It went very long and will have a Part 2 next week. But the info for this week! Our guest Jen (Sabraeal) has returned for a second time to talk about alpha romance hero Kuelbo. Jen does not understand the Kuelbo hype, but Evan and I do. Oh do we. PLEASE NOTE: we discuss non-con and dub-con quite a bit throughout the episode. Words like "rape" and "sexual assault" are used. Please tread lightly or skip this episode if that's something that will bother you. Be safe! Final notes: we're on twitter and gmail @theyonapod and tumblr @theyonapodcast. Jen is on tumblr and AO3 @sabraeal and twitter @sabraeal1.
We're back with the same guest from last week! Karyn is still hanging out to talk about the funniest chapter in the series. The gang goes to Tae-Jun's special house and basically immediately have to leave because no one can act right. Shenanigans ensue. Meanwhile, Lili thinks Kye-Sook is a dumbass. Also discussed: The Bell Jar. If you don't make it to the end of the episode, please note that we will be taking a bit of a break after this episode and it will probably be a couple of weeks before a new one comes out. We hope you'll join us then!
We have a guest this week! Our real life friend, Karyn, joins us to chat about 157 and two bonus chapters: The Intertribe Martial Arts Tournament (Just This Once) and Take Care Part III. We dig pretty deep into Soo-Won and also finally discuss the bonus chapter that does in fact exist (despite the fact that I couldn't remember it until I started rereading it). As always, we're on twitter @theyonapod, tumblr @theyonapodcast, and gmail @theyonapod. Please join us next week for more Karyn, and we hope you're having happy holidays!
There's a bunch of set-up this week. Yona and the boys get wind of Kai actually invading the Fire Tribe and go help out their old friend, Tae-Jun. Ogi tags along because he's nosy. Here is the quiz we used to assign us a shojo anime: https://uquiz.com/quiz/A1XG1o/assigning-you-a-popular-shoujo-anime. Finally, we're on twitter and gmail @theyonapod and tumblr @theyonapodcast. Thanks, and we'll see you again next week and the week after for normal episodes!
We have a guest this week! Jen came in to help us talk about the intermediary chapters between arcs and the aftermath of The Confession. Also to definitively tell us how to pronounce her username. We talk about the HakYona romance that is finally (maybe?) happening despite Hak's best efforts to sabotage himself, weird King Il memories, and Lili. Please check out Jen at sabraeal1 on twitter, sabraeal on tumblr, and sabraeal on AO3. She's truly the best. As for us, we're always on twitter (@theyonapod), sometimes on tumblr (@theyonapodcast), and occasionally check our gmail (@theyonapod). We'll see you next week for more Tae-Jun! And more new arc.
Quick disclaimer: we had a weird audio syncing issue. I think I fixed it as best I could, but please excuse any times Evan cuts into the end of my sentences. Okay! Chapters 151 and 152. Aka The Confession! That's right, Hak admits he loves Yona to her face, but not before she tries to send him away to be with the people he "really wants to be with" (the Wind Tribe and his fiancee???). Also the dragons are alive and doing not great but not terribly, and they're good boys, no notes. Come find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail @theyonapod (theyonapodcast on tumblr). Or just come back next week for a new arc and a special guest!
So Mizari dies. Apparently he succumbs to his wounds but I did not get that either time I've read this section, so do with that what you will. In other news, Kouren is very much still kickin' it. She manages to get to Soo-Won and they have peace talks. You know who's not interested in peace? Kye-Sook. He thinks Yona's a threat (he's right). While he's scheming to keep her in check, she's worried about boys so like, relax dude. We're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail. Please come tell us your thoughts or ask any questions you have. Otherwise, we'll see you next week to see how Yona feels about Ayame bandaging a shirtless Hak.
This week, Gobi gets real weird, Hak gets real sad, and the dragons get real abused. Meanwhile, Yotaka learns a lesson about prejudice. Also: a Bachelor in Paradise AU we will never write. We're on twitter @theyonapod, gmail @theyonapod, and tumblr @theyonapodcast if you'd like to let us know how you think a Bachelor in Paradise AU would work (who would be Chris Harrison??). Otherwise we'll see you next week!
Tae-Woo is such a fun hero. Also, the dragons get a new power (though we have no idea what it is) and Gobi is real weird about everything ever. Thanks again to our guest editor for this week, Alex! Come find us on twitter @theyonapod, email us at theyonapod@gmail.com, or on tumblr @theyonapodcast, and we'll see you next week.
Everyone's getting shot at with arrows this week. Neguro, Hak, and Mizari are all unfortunate enough to get wounded by Gobi's dudes (which we know via many routes including an unnecessary aside from a bad guy). We would like to make a formal request to all fan artists out there to turn these bleak chapters into something fun by drawing Hak as a little porcupine. Maybe Yona's holding him in her hands. Draw whatever your heart tells you. As always, come find us on twitter and gmail @theyonapod and tumblr @theyonapodcast. Let us know your thoughts. Tag us in your art. Or just come back next week for more Xing. Thanks for listening!
OKAY LADIES. Yona and Lili team up to wear down Soo-Won. Kye-Sook is very upset about it. Also Hak is doing stuff. Look, they're good chapters. What more do you want? Thank you again to this week's editor, Alex! If you have any questions or comments about things we didn't talk about that you're dying to discuss, please do give us a shout on social media! We're on twitter @theyonapod, gmail @theyonapod, and tumblr @theyonapodcast. If you have any tropes or open-ended questions for the ending segment, please feel free to send those our way too. Thanks for listening, and we'll see you all next week to find out Neguro's fate!
Still more (fun) set-up. Soo-Won is being stubborn. Hak has no idea what's happening with Yona (Vold is right there with him). Lili still exists (affectionate). And that cliffhanger...chef's kiss. Please find us on The Socials. We're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail. Look for The Yona Pod. You'll find us.
So...totally normal couple chapters OH WAIT THERE'S A KISS. Who saw that coming? Also more Wind Tribe shenanigans and Zeno admitting the dragons can potentially control the weather? We're unclear there. Mild, potential spoilers for Under the Oak Tree from 41:46-43:03. We're on twitter at twitter.com/@theyonapod, tumblr at theyonapodcast.tumblr.com, and gmail at theyonapod@gmail.com. Let us know your opinions on the tropes we covered, what tropes you'd like to see, or any general questions/comments. Otherwise, we'll see you next week!
Old friends (?) are coming back everywhere! First Ogi, now Min-Su. That's right, the twink that died in the second chapter didn't actually die. Also, the dragons are still in jail and Soo-Won is pretending real hard he doesn't have real boy emotions. Thank you to our guest editor, Alex, for editing this episode! If you'd like to send us any questions or comments, please find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail. See you in two weeks!
We have arrived at my favorite HakYona moment of the series! But first, Hak and Yona trek back home to try to get Soo-Won to listen to them while the dragons are being self-sacrificial in jail. It's all very sweet stuff. Also discussed: Evan's birthday, Purple Hyacinth, and A Girl and Her Guard Dog. We are on twitter (twitter.com/theyonapod), tumblr (theyonapodcast.tumblr.com, and gmail (theyonapod@gmail.com) if you'd like to hit us up with questions or comments. Otherwise we'll see you next week for the rest of that bonus chapter and Hak and Ogi's confrontation.
Love is in the air this week. Hak and Yona go on a mini date-like thing and Yona has another Moment (tm) with a beautiful woman who - gasp - is the bloodthirsty Princess Kouren! Also the dragons find themselves in a bit of a bind. Oops. Special thanks to (not host) Alex again for editing this episode! I am eternally grateful. Check us out on twitter, gmail, or tumblr if you're so inclined. Otherwise, we'll see you next week for some more Xing and a very exciting bonus chapter.
New people alert! We meet the rest of the Five Stars of Xing this week, and one of them straight up tries to murder Tao. For this reason, our gang ends up in a cave with a whole bunch of cats and a very contrite Tao, who insists everyone return to Kohka immediately. She's very sorry she almost got them killed. Also Zeno gets burned alive and it's pretty sick. Super quick spoiler rundown: One Tree Hill - 5:30-6:00 Mizari initial thoughts upon re-read - 34:40-35:40 Here's the scene from Shaun of the Dead I mentioned. If you haven't seen Shaun of the Dead, I cannot recommend it enough. Also Spaced. I have a lifelong love of Simon Pegg and will rec anything he's ever been in. As always, we're on twitter and gmail @theyonapod and tumblr @theyonapodcast. Hit us with questions or comments, or we'll just see you next week for some HakYona shenanigans!
New arc, baby! And we're switching things up. First of all, Evan is leading the charge because she loves this arc. Second of all, we have a very kind listener - Alex; not me - who offered to help me edit and I am incredibly grateful. Thanks for editing this episode, Alex! Right, so we're off to Xing and meet a bunch of new characters with brand new issues. There's Vold - or is it Voldo? - Algira, and Princess Tao, who opposes her sister's thirst for war with Kohka. Set-up nation, we have arrived yet again. As always, please find us on twitter, tumblr or gmail, otherwise we'll see you next week for even more characters (but I think the same cats).
Good golly Miss Molly, these are some chapters. We have just THE MOST Lili/Soo-Won fodder of all time. Hak is finally confronting his Soo-Won trauma in a deeply metaphorical chapter. Ogi returns! And we say goodbye to this arc. Sei, I will miss you deeply. Also discussed: books/manga we've read recently, characters we vibe with in Yona, and the time Evangelina fell into a parked car. Please check us out on social media (twitter and gmail @theyonapod and tumblr @theyonapodcast). We'll see you next week for some Xing action and Evan taking the reins!
Tangent nation, are you ready? We talked a lot about these chapters (because they were amazing) and also about books, pie, and no one listening to my movie recommendations. Sei is basically done, and it's been so much fun. I'll miss you, Sei arc. We'll wrap up the rest of this arc next week, and we hope to see you then! In the meantime, please reach out on social media if you want to ask us questions or make comments (or tell me what my issue with Jae-Ha and Yona was that one time). We're @theyonapod on twtitter, theyonapodcast on tumblr, and theyonapod on gmail. Thanks for listening!
The wall is a metaphor! This week, Hak and Soo-Won are dealing with their emotional baggage, Jae-Ha and Zeno are hanging out, and Yona is having a breakdown because Lili's about to die. It's really fun stuff! Also there is a very quick spoiler where we pick up a discussion from last week at 1:16-2:28. And we talk a lot about other anime so if you want to skip to the Yona discussion, please skip ahead to about 24:00. Yikes. Sorry about that. As always, we're on social media (not Instagram or Tik Tok, but everywhere else). Please ask us questions or give us comments if you'd like, otherwise we'll see you next week!
Here there be spoilers! Evan has officially read ahead which means we let a little loose on the spoiler ban, specifically around Soo-Won. If you've read up to chapter 200, you should be fine. If not, see below for spoiler tags. Aside from spoilers, we are finally getting some big confrontations and reunions (sometimes both!). Hak and Soo-Won have an ex-boyfriend chat on opposite sides of a literal metaphor, Kija is Kija, and Lili and Yona share a sweet lil kiss in the forest. Too bad about Lili's impending death and all that. Spoiler tags: If you're really trying to avoid spoilers: 11:30-11:45, 15:54-20:45, and 33:52-36:40. Serious spoiler territory: 44:45-49:07 and 54:00-54:10. Finally, spoilers about Akito if you still haven't gotten around to watching Fruits Basket at 1:00:00 ish. As always, come find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail, and we'll see you next week for a (less spoilery) new episode!
These. Chapters. Have. Everything. Found family in the form of everyone supporting an obviously distressed Hak. The hero Mun-Deok. Soo-Won? Yona and Lili being gay as hell. I know it's still mostly set-up but it's incredible set-up. As always, we're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail. Hit us up with any questions or comments, otherwise we'll see you next week for some obvious metaphor talk!
New arc! And with it, a new area of the mythical map unlocked: Sei. Meanwhile, Soo-Won meets with the generals for a post-win meeting after the battle for Ken Provence. Also discussed: gifts, Hayley Kiyoko, and calling people by their first name. Please find us on twitter.com/theyonapod, theyonapodcast.tumblr.com, or theyonapod@gmail.com. Or just come back next week!
For this week's chapters that don't matter at all, we brought on a few guests! Jordan and David from the Shonen Flop podcast came to chat about Shin-Ah going through his "rebellious phase." Also, some of my personal favorite Zeno stuff from the entire manga. Also discussed: The Faculty, various shonen series (blanket semi-spoiler warning for Hunter x Hunter btw), and deals with the devil that Evangelina's family may or may not have made. Please check them out at ShonenFlopCast on twitter and all their various links to thinks here. You can find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail. See you next week for a new arc!
Part two (for us) of Zeno's backstory. Complete with a tragically doomed marriage and baby dragons abound. Zeno deserves the biggest hug imaginable (and he gets it!). Plus, a side story involving the four dragons being let loose on their own and the consequences thereof. Also discussed: plays/musicals that haunt us, Under the Oak Tree (spoilers from 9:15-11:12), and a new game. Trigger warnings for Zeno-typical self-harm implications and incest towards the end of the episode. As always, we're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail. Thanks for listening!
It's the start of Zeno's backstory, where we get to see how he discovers what his power is and then is absolutely tortured by it for the foreseeable future. It's a grand time. Joining us to talk about it is our good friend Pres (blacksovie on twitter), back for a second time. The first time he was on, we talked about what power we'd all want, and we revisit that topic now that we know the depths of Zeno's power (curse?). Spoiler warnings for the next chapter (if you're REALLY avoiding spoilers) from 24:55-25:20. Spoiler warning for Neon Genesis Evangelion from 1:02:26-1:03:19. Finally, we're on twitter and gmail @theyonapod and tumblr @theyonapodcast. See you next week!
We're shifting from a historical fantasy romance to straight up horror this week. That's right, the long-awaited reveal is here: Zeno is immortal. And boy is it freaky to witness in action. Also discussed: fanfiction, good and bad young adult novels from our teenage years, and more games from Evan's brain. Please find us on twitter or gmail at theyonapod or tumblr at theyonapodcast. Otherwise we will see you next week with our very first guest Pres, returning once more to chat about boys he only vaguely understands. If you're curious, I think this is the one where Hak is Hiryuu's wife reincarnated. I really couldn't find the one where Yun is Kaya reincarnated so if you know what I'm talking about please tag us on twitter or something.
We're in a new country! But not for long. Kin provence is Kai territory for about half this episode. Yona and the gang are straight up not having a good time about it. You know who is having a good time? Soo-Won and his generals. Also discussed: more games, Evan's Zeno prediction, and bees(?) We're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail if you want to tell us who you would FMK or if you'd rather have a prophecy or the water seal. Otherwise, we'll see you all next week!
We are in a new arc, everyone! Yona and the boys have left the Water Tribe and are back in Earth Tribe territory (until they're in Kai). Meanwhile, Soo-Won is plotting. Against Kai. But this time he's the aggressor. Also: Would You Rather, FMK, and a character ranking. Here is the character ranker we used. Also, I have no idea if it'll be fun to listen to so if you get bored we make random comments from 34:23-39:56 (where we give our official rankings). As always, we're on twitter, tumblr, or gmail. Or we will just see you again next week!
It's a falling action week. We wrap up Yona in the Water Tribe and solidify Lili's undying commitment to (a mildly confused) Yona. Yona also cries about Hak smiling. It's wonderful. Also: tattoos, crustaceans vs. mollusks, and our inaugural game of Fuck Marry Kill and Would You Rather. It's very fun. Please find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail if you'd like to tell us who you would FMK or if you'd rather go to a spa or a festival. Otherwise, we'll see you next week for the first foray into new lands!
This episode is also known as May the Forcus be With You per Evan's request. Alright folks, we're here! We've arrived at one of the angstiest chapters. Soo-Won and Hak have their first face-to-face meeting since the coup and it's just a little tense. Also discussed: meeting nice actors and constructive criticism on strangulation. Timestamps for various reasons: Bonus chapter discussion (in case you haven't read it yet and don't want to be spoiled): 2:57-8:45 Chapter discussions start at 17:18. Spoilers on how I read Soo-Won's opinion of Yona throughout the series as a whole: 28:19-29:22. And that's it. We're on twitter, tumblr, or gmail. Please come find us and tell us your thoughts on these chapters or anything else you want. Otherwise, we will see you all next week!
As Evangelina says at one point: this is like a Shakespearean comedy but it's not funny at all because everyone involved has some horrific trauma. Things are tense in the Water Tribe and we are both having the best time. Also discussed: fanfiction. As always, we're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail if you want to reach out. If not, we'll just see you back here next week!
These! Chapters! First off, the gang is back together. Then a new gang forms consisting of Lili and Soo-Won (and Ju-do, who does NOT want to be there). Plus, Lili has no idea who Soo-Won is, and she doesn't know that she should keep him from Yona and her group. It's so twisty and so! much! fun! Plus: what makes a good love triangle and deleted Sterek fanfiction we loved. Please find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail, or subscribe so you don't miss next week's episode!
It's a three-chapter week! Lots of wrap-up in the first two chapters and a nudge forward with chapter 85. Yona heals and has A Moment with Hak. Lili decides to head back to the palace so Tetora can heal. And then they (separately) wind up heading to Sensui to deal with this Nadai situation and Hyo. Also Jae-ha kills a man. It's cool. Also discussed: melatonin-induced nightmares. Please find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail, or simply come back next week for a continuation of the best arc. Thanks for listening!
We've arrived. My favorite moment of the series. It takes a surprising amount of time to get to it, though. We were chatty this week. Also discussed: class reunions and titties. Please find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail. Thanks, and see you next week!
Yona kicked a guy in the face! Lili maybe (probably) fell in love! Zeno...did things! These were some great chapters. Also discussed: Kusanagi's backlog and fashion in Yona. You can find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail, or simply come back next week for the next two chapters!
New arc, new tribe, new plot. We're in the Water Tribe now, and there is a mysterious drug making the rounds. Jae-ha is its first victim from our gang, and thus starts the direction of the plot from here on now. Plus our girl Lili, who Evan has had for a day and has already adopted. Also, we took a uquiz on what type of anime boyfriend we should have (to varying degrees of accuracy). We're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail if you want to send us a message. Otherwise, thank you for listening and we'll see you next week!
It's backstory time for Kija and Jae-ha. We get to learn about their dragon predecessors as the gang relaxes at a rural hot spring. Plus, these chapters were combined into a perfect OVA. We've missed seeing these kids animated, and every single thing the animators added for the story was perfect. Also discussed: voice actors, color theory, and Tarble and his peculiar alien wife, Gure. #NotMyVegeta. As always, please find us at twitter.com/theyonapod, theyonapodcast@tumblr.com, or theyonapod@gmail.com. See you next week for the third arc!
We're wrapping this arc up! Soo-Won is saving the kingdom one well-placed threat sandwiched between lenient kindness at a time. Gulfan is still firmly a child of divorce. Also Hak and Yona sort of go on a date and we're very normal about it. Also covered: listener emails and whether or not Ian Sinclair is married to an 85 year old Australian woman. You know the drill. We're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail and we love chatting with you. Come find us if you want to, otherwise we'll see you next week!
These chapters serve to wind the arc down. Characters know things. Soo-won takes the Fire Tribe boys under his proverbial wing. And that's about it. I don't know if you've all caught on, but we've known each other since we were about 12, so just, like, a ton of this episode is us reminiscing about things we used to do and enjoy. Here's that cracked article, and the por que no los dos commercial if you've somehow, blessedly, been able to avoid it until now. As always, we're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail. See you next week!
It's battle time! The Soo-won stuff is kind of a mixed bag, but Hak and Yona look so cool in this section. Additional topics: a listener email and stumbling upon smutty fanfiction as youngsters. We're on twitter @theyonapod, theyonapod@gmail.com, and theyonapodcast.tumblr.com. See you next week!
Battle shenanigans! Soo-won is back, baby, and he's ready to fight. ...next week. This week we're still mostly setting things up. But it's fun! Also discussed: horrifying bug stories, Bachelor in Paradise-inspired character moments, and discovering Evan thinks of arcs vastly different than I do. As always, please come find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail. See you next week!
Blanket disclaimer: we discuss sexual misconduct and sexual assault in media a few times throughout this episode so please skip this week if you're sensitive to those sorts of discussions. This is a short episode this week even though we cover three chapters. Sorry, it's a ton of set-up. And a little pay-off, which is fun! Also fun? How cool the gang is at the seedy bar they're lying low in. They're like if Aragorn was actually five freaks, a gremlin princess, and a harried fifteen-year-old boy. Next week: a battle. Please come find us on twitter.com/theyonapod, theyonapodcast.tumblr.com, or theyonapod@gmail.com. See you next week!
This episode is not all about grain! Instead, it's super angsty and romantic and we loved it. We talk about thirsty Kai ladies, romance needing a little suspension of disbelief, and that hairpin. We also give slight spoilers for One Tree Hill so if you're avoiding them...sorry! It happens early in the episode. But if you're here for the scene we talked about, please watch this groundbreaking piece of film. There's also an oral history of how the scene came to be, which I'm a huge fan of. Finally, Evan gives an entertaining (but lengthy) review of an episode of Kaleido Star. If you'd rather skip that, it's from 1:04:51-1:23:42. As always, we're on twitter, tumblr, and gmail. We'll see you next week!
What team? Wildcats! Just kidding, there are no wildcats, but the threat of them pushes Hak and Yona to share a tent together in some delightful tropiness. We also get into why Hak is such a good character (he's sad and refusing to deal with it, aka my kryptonite) and how to kill tropical centipedes. Speaking of centipedes, you all might have heard that Tonga was devastated by a tsunami last week. That was my home for two years and it's an issue that's very personal to me. These episodes are recorded a few weeks in advance so I just want to say that I'm not ignoring the situation in Tonga, I'm currently waiting to hear official news of how people around the world can best help the country. For now, I'm simply bringing attention to it (not that I need to, I'm sure). Please find us on twitter, tumblr, or gmail, and we'll see you all next week!
We're back with actual manga chapters! This week we covered Young Leaves in the Wind, aka the baby chapters. But even though the flashback is tragic, we laughed the entire time with our guest and personal friend, Celine, who was such a treat to have on. We talked about how hugely homosexual these chapters are, innocent fantasies, and speculate why Kai is so obsessed with kidnapping people. Also, and this should be a given at this point, some Geun-tae thirst. I've also been working on fixing audio quality issues, so I hope it's better this week! Find us on social media (where you can tell me anything except how little my last point made sense. It made sense in my head, but then I started talking and found out I also did not know where I was going.) Twitter (twitter.com/theyonapod), Tumblr (theyonapodcast.tumblr.com) and gmail (theyonapod@gmail.com).
