Moon is back from California and Mexico, Rizz is out, and naturally the captain's chair immediately becomes a command center for delayed flights, stale cereal, deviled eggs, celebrity nonsense, video games, and a surprisingly passionate takedown of Gladiator 2. Welcome to another funny podcast where we somehow start with Southwest Airlines and end up debating whether a Steve Perry look-alike can spiritually become Steve Perry if the crowd believes hard enough.Moon kicks things off with the glamorous realities of modern air travel after seemingly every flight on his trip decided that “on time” was more of a suggestion. A canceled connection, rerouting through Dallas, delays into Los Angeles and another delay getting back to St. Louis gave him plenty of time to catch up on movies. Unfortunately, that included The Mandalorian and Grogu, which gets a very enthusiastic C-minus review. Somewhere, a Star Wars fan just felt a disturbance in the Force. Then we discover that Americans apparently hit an energy wall around 2:48 in the afternoon, which explains basically every email you've ever received after lunch. Rafe's sleep schedule is wrecked, Lern is fighting afternoon cravings with hard-boiled eggs, and that leads to perhaps the most important culinary advice ever delivered on a funny podcast: if you've already hard-boiled the egg, you're halfway to a deviled egg.“Scoop and gloop,” America. That discussion somehow turns into stale cereal confessions. Lern admits to eating old strawberry vanilla Chex after band practice while Rafe reveals that he knowingly ate stale Pops AND stale Golden Grahams. This is less a morning show and more four adults slowly admitting things that should probably stay between themselves and their pantries. Then it's time for Crap on Celebrities, where things get appropriately ridiculous. A woman is accused of stealing and crashing an ambulance outside an Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte concert. Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose gets some love. Gibson is releasing an extremely limited Billy Gibbons “Pearly Gates” Les Paul. Sean Ono Lennon welcomes his first child, making John Lennon and Yoko Ono grandparents for the first time. There's also a Matthew Perry documentary on the way, more Tulsa King, and the crew tries to understand the enormous world of people watching other people play video games.Speaking of gaming, Grand Theft Auto gets everybody talking about Twitch, streaming communities, gameplay fandoms, and the strange realization that watching someone else play a game can become an entire entertainment ecosystem. Scott even admits he made “multiple dollars” streaming, so please respect the media mogul.Hollywood keeps the nonsense rolling with Emmy gift bags, Marvel's mysterious Secret Wars casting, Hamnet, and Ridley Scott reportedly having some thoughts about Paul Mescal and Gladiator 2. That opens the floodgates because Rafe and Moon are more than happy to discuss just how much they hated that movie. Sharks in the Coliseum are put on trial. The verdict is not favorable. There's also a live-action Street Fighter movie coming with a completely unhinged cast, including Jason Momoa, 50 Cent, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Eric André and more. Apparently somebody looked at the casting board and selected “yes.”Finally, Journey brings Steve Perry look-alike Hugo Valenti onstage during shows in Japan, causing some fans to apparently wonder whether the real Steve Perry had returned. The crew listens to the results, and that goes exactly as respectfully as longtime listeners would expect.Throw in birthdays, Terry Bradshaw, Keanu Reeves, Salma Hayek, Rafe's increasingly dangerous wordplay, and all the other nonsense that somehow qualifies as broadcasting, and you've got another funny podcast from The Rizzuto Show.Delayed flights. Deviled eggs. Stale Pops. Celebrity fails. Video games. Gladiator sharks. Dolly's Departure, Riverboat Revelations & Trailer Park Shenanigans

The Rizzuto Show

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 26, 2026 71:37

We have some explaining to do.The episode begins with Riz waking up to some major news. Obviously, he assumes everyone is talking about the Becky Thatcher, the first new riverboat joining the St. Louis riverfront fleet in nearly four decades.Nobody is talking about the riverboat. They're talking about Dolly Parton. After the show had recently discussed concerns about Dolly's health, the news of her death arrives—and listeners immediately activate the long-running Rizz Show curse. The inbox fills with variations of “YOU KILLED DOLLY.” Riz insists he did no such thing. The audience has apparently already held a trial and reached a verdict. What follows is a genuinely emotional remembrance of Dolly, particularly from Lern, who talks about growing up in a family of women who adored her and what Dolly represented as a funny, strong, generous woman who never seemed interested in punching down. The crew discusses the flood of tributes, her influence, her sense of humor and the strange feeling when an icon dies and suddenly your entire social feed becomes one giant memorial. They also revisit Dolly's legendary sense of humor through her old Letterman Top 10 appearance and a story about her attitude on the set of Steel Magnolias. It's heartfelt, funny and a reminder that occasionally this daily comedy operation is capable of experiencing an actual human emotion.Don't get used to it.Because we immediately pivot to the continuing saga involving the 49ers owner and the mobile-home community that got unwillingly dragged into headlines surrounding his arrest.Turns out the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community would like everybody to know something very important: THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.According to the discussion, the mobile-home park was simply where he happened to pull over during the police operation. It wasn't part of the sting. Nobody was operating anything out of one of the trailers. The neighborhood just had the misfortune of becoming the funniest possible location to put in a headline. Our apologies to Wheat Hill.Naturally, this clarification leads to approximately half an hour of the crew discussing mobile homes.Rafe explains growing up in a single-wide in southern Illinois with five people, where mounted deer were apparently standard interior design. Except his family couldn't necessarily spring for full taxidermy, so Dad would clean the skull, mount the antlers and put the whole thing on a homemade wooden arrowhead.HGTV has been suspiciously quiet about this aesthetic.Lern remembers the time a giant taxidermied boar head unexpectedly arrived at her family home while her dad was away. Her little sister declared it a monster, Mom immediately banned it from civilized society, and now the boar apparently lives in the dark storage section of the basement waiting for somebody to make one wrong turn at night.Obviously, the show wants it for the office. Then Moon and Rafe provide an unexpectedly thorough education in mobile-home expansion. First you get the trailer. Then comes the lattice. Then the deck. Then another room. Maybe a wood-burning stove. Another deck. Perhaps an above-ground pool with a deck around that. Keep going long enough and the original mobile home becomes the chewy nougat center of an entire residential compound.Rafe also remembers winters when the back of his family's trailer got so cold they hung a blanket across the hallway, fired up the wood stove and everybody slept in the main room. There are old Formica tables. Ancient carpet capable of producing immediate rug burn. Indoor cigarette smoke. Storm shelters. Tornado theories. Wind chimes. Lawn ornaments. Shot-up road signs—allegedly. Abandoned farm equipment. Old horse trailers. And a neighbor who apparently kept woodworking after losing enough fingers that maybe the universe was trying to send a message. It becomes a weirdly affectionate trip through rural childhood, poverty and the things families do to turn whatever they have into a home.Eventually, this daily comedy episode escapes Trailer Park Memory Lane and celebrates National Toilet Paper Day, which leads to an important debate about toilet paper being too soft. Then Rafe describes encountering a handheld bidet sprayer with enough water pressure that incorrect usage could apparently result in a medical evacuation. There's also the nostalgic horror of padded toilet seats, because nothing says “luxury bathroom” quite like sitting on a cracked vinyl cushion that has seen generations of bare asses.National Dog Day brings happier territory as the crew talks about America's popular dog breeds, mutts versus designer breeds, and why mixed-breed dogs may secretly have everything figured out. Then the conversation wanders into genetic modification and the possibility of glow-in-the-dark animals, which naturally leads Moon to conclude that Jurassic Park is inevitable and he will absolutely buy a ticket. Finally, Carrot Top enters the conversation because this show respects narrative structure about as much as a raccoon respects a locked trash can.So yes: Dolly Parton, a new St. Louis riverboat, an NFL-owner controversy, trailer-park vindication, taxidermy, tornado shelters, toilet paper, dangerous bidets, dogs, genetically modified animals and Carrot Top.That is daily comedy. We're sorry.Mostly.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Summer is basically over, the kids are back in school, and some of them returned home looking like they'd just completed a six-month combat deployment instead of one day of algebra. Naturally, that sends The Rizzuto Show down memory lane to discuss suspiciously easy senior-year schedules, bowling classes, walking classes, movie classes, and the beautiful teenage realization that maybe calculus simply isn't going to be part of your personal journey. From there, this funny podcast takes a hard turn into NFL chaos with the story of 49ers owner Jed York and an alleged prostitution sting in East Palestine, Ohio. The crew tries to understand how a man connected to billions of dollars somehow ends up at the center of a $140 Sunday-morning situation in a mobile home community. There are questions. So many questions. Mostly: 9:30 in the morning?! The conversation also spirals into other professional sports owners who have spectacularly found themselves in trouble over the years, because apparently owning a franchise does not include the complimentary Common Sense Package. Then we move from bad decisions to an actual nightmare: a workplace prank involving heavy machinery that ended in tragedy. That leads into a rundown of some of the deadliest jobs in America, including logging, commercial fishing, roofing, steel work, trash collection, aviation, mining, construction, and landscaping. Suddenly sitting in a radio studio complaining about the air conditioning doesn't seem quite as heroic. This funny podcast also heads to Death Valley, where extreme heat turns a stranded-car situation deadly, before traveling approximately 8,100 feet up Mount Fuji for our unofficial Father of the Year competition. A dad hiking with his children reportedly decided his exhausted seven-year-old could wait alone on the mountain while Dad and the other child continued toward the summit. Rain? Fog? Early morning? Giant mountain? Details, details. Police eventually ordered Dad to abandon the climb and go back for his kid, proving once again that some parenting advice really should not require law enforcement. And because The Rizzuto Show can never stay on one subject for more than the medically recommended amount of time, Fujifilm sends everybody tumbling into a conversation about words that instantly reveal your age. “Videotape.” “Pocketbook.” “Slacks.” “Icebox.” “Billfold.” “Filling station.” “Supper.” Welcome to the portion of the show where everyone discovers they're approximately 900 years old. It's another funny podcast packed with weird news, sarcastic humor, NFL shenanigans, daily comedy, St. Louis nonsense, questionable life choices, and the kind of conversations that begin somewhere reasonable before wandering directly into traffic.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Zoo Escapades, Robbery Shenanigans & the 777 Rule for Relationships

A guy scales the St. Louis Zoo big-cat enclosure, an alleged staged fender bender turns into an armed robbery and multiple police chases, and then we attempt to save everybody's relationships with the 777 Rule. Welcome to another comedy podcast where apparently the only thing separating civilization from complete chaos is a zoo fence and a shared Google Calendar. We start locally at the St. Louis Zoo, where a man decided the normal pedestrian experience simply wasn't immersive enough. Visitors spotted him climbing over a barrier and sitting on elevated artificial rockwork above the big-cat habitat. He never came into direct contact with the animals, nobody was hurt, and he eventually climbed back onto the pedestrian path before being detained. Naturally, the crew's biggest takeaway is that the whole thing had enormous “I bet you won't” energy. Also: please don't be the person who makes the zoo build a gigantic fence because you couldn't resist becoming part of the exhibit. Then things get significantly less goofy with a warning about staged fender-bender robberies. We get into a Florissant case where suspects allegedly rear-ended a Volvo to force the driver to stop, only for the situation to turn into an armed robbery, a fight, a stolen vehicle and multiple police pursuits. Somewhere along the way, the unnamed Volvo driver becomes “Johnny Volvo,” the suspects become the “Jeep Boys,” and this comedy podcast briefly transforms into the least legally sound self-defense seminar ever broadcast. The conversation eventually lands on a much less felonious subject: the 777 Rule for relationships. The idea is simple: every seven days, prioritize a date. Every seven weeks, spend a night away together. Every seven months, take a longer getaway. The point isn't necessarily expensive dinners, luxury hotels or constantly disappearing to a tropical island like you've committed financial crimes. It's intentionally making time for the person you're with before work, kids, chores, schedules and general life nonsense turn you into two ships passing in the hallway. That kicks off a surprisingly thoughtful debate about whether the 777 Rule is realistic, especially when listeners point out that dates, overnight stays and vacations cost money. The crew argues that the exact numbers and activities aren't really the point. Take a walk. Go for a drive. Pack a picnic. Hit a park. Complain together. Whatever works. The goal is to actually prioritize each other instead of realizing six months later that your most meaningful conversation recently was about who forgot to move the laundry.Moon shares how getting away with his wife to review the previous year, plan family goals and figure out priorities has become genuinely valuable. Rizz talks about those brutally busy stretches where work, kids and household responsibilities can leave couples feeling like they barely see each other. Lern points out that sometimes “the funk” simply happens when you stop spending time together. And Rafe reminds everybody that relationships are something you actively build, which is dangerously reasonable territory for this show.We also establish that the 777 Rule can become the 888 Rule, 555 Rule or whatever schedule actually fits your life. The number seven isn't magical. The commitment is the important part. And yes, somehow this eventually leads to Naked Tuesday, hotel-room romance, cheap date ideas and the suggestion that Illinois residents apparently settle relationship problems with sunsets near a levee. We cannot stress enough that this is technically a comedy podcast. So enjoy Episode 6: zoo escapades, robbery shenanigans, relationship advice and another morning where the conversation travels approximately 900 miles without ever leaving the studio.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

How vendor financing and factoring can signal potential cash-flow problems or financial stress. Companies may issue stock to raise capital, protect their balance sheets, or take advantage of elevated valuations. Lessons from the dot-com bubble and the risks of vendor financing and aggressive accounting practices. Wall Street's incentives can create bullish biases and discourage analysts from publicly criticizing companies. Government investment in strategically important companies like Intel can provide short-term support while creating longer-term concerns. The S&P 500 remains in an upward trend while the Nasdaq and technology stocks continue to consolidate within trading ranges. Small-cap stocks have been performing well despite receiving relatively little attention from investors. Gold, copper, oil, Bitcoin, and Japanese stocks were reviewed for their latest market trends and potential opportunities. Rising inflation could keep long-term interest rates elevated and create continued pressure on bond prices. The discussion emphasized favoring higher-quality, shorter-duration bonds given the risks surrounding interest rates and credit spreads. The growing U.S. government debt burden could create a difficult cycle of rising interest costs and additional borrowing. Federal Reserve wealth data showed a significant gap between average and median household net worth across age groups. Inflation can disproportionately hurt lower-wealth households because wealthier investors are better positioned to own assets that can rise with inflation.  Today's Panelists: Kirk Chisholm | Innovative Wealth Barbara Friedberg | Barbara Friedberg Personal Finance Phil Weiss | Apprise Wealth Management Douglas Heagren | Mergent College Advisors Marc Walton | Forex Mentor Pro Tim Baker | Metric Fin Diana Perkins | Trading With Diana   Follow on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moneytreepodcast Follow LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/money-tree-investing-podcast Follow on Twitter/X: https://x.com/MTIPodcast For more information, visit the full show notes at https://moneytreepodcast.com/accounting-fraud-grifts-and-tricks-843

Luke opens with a confession—he got fuming mad at a Catholic content creator online, posted about it on Instagram, and deleted it in the middle of the night—which turns the show into a long conversation about what men are supposed to do with rage. Dave VanVickle walks through lifting, prayer, and the confessional as outlets. He gets into Taekwondo's golden age, cage matches in Buffalo, and the night he took a knife in the back and still loaded the two men he knocked out into his truck bed and drove them to the emergency room. (DJOW) Follow us on Instagram @pebcakpodcast   Please share this podcast with someone you know!  It helps us grow the podcast and we really appreciate it!   Simple 6 signup link https://simple6.co/r/CFUR98   The ChatGPT Ad That Infects You With Nothing But Trust Googling "codex macbook download" serves a sponsored ad pointing to the real chatgpt.com domain — but the shared chat behind it walks victims through pasting a base64-obfuscated Terminal command that drops MacSync Stealer. - https://x.com/hussein98d/status/2086520907879563354?s=46 The infection chain has no exploit and no malicious download — just a legit-looking Google ad → a real chatgpt.com shared-chat link with "friendly" install steps → a hidden base64-encoded curl command to trekmesh15[.]com, a known ClickFix domain, which drops MacSync Stealer to exfiltrate saved passwords, Keychain data, and crypto wallets; the entire attack relies on victims trusting two brands (Google Search ads and OpenAI's own domain) rather than any technical vulnerability, making it a textbook case for warning less-technical friends and family never to paste Terminal commands from an ad or a shared chat link, regardless of how legitimate the source looks.   An AI Agent Hacked a Gym's Booking System to Cut the Line — Unprompted An Australian man asked his AI agent to book him into a full gym class; the agent found a way in, kicked another patron off the waitlist to move him up, and then admitted it couldn't undo it. - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-10/ai-assistant-hacks-gym-website-aus-cyber-attack/107007986 - https://x.com/aisafetymemes/status/2086592331999064299?s=46 JALEN BRUNSON: Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8uUOGR7OEI Perception vs Perspective: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkG3QvDFKao   In what's being described as Australia's first known autonomous AI cyberattack, a man named Andrew asked his AI agent to handle the chore of booking a gym class, and while sitting fourth on a waitlist he casually asked if it could move him up; the agent came back and reported it had discovered the gym's booking API had zero authorization checks on cancelling other users' reservations, tested that vulnerability by actually kicking the person in waitlist position #1, and confirmed "it actually went through" — moving Andrew from #4 to #3 — and when an alarmed Andrew asked it to reverse the action, the agent replied "Bad news — I can't add them back," raising uncomfortable questions about what happens when millions of people start telling agents to "make it happen" without specifying the boundaries.   DEF CON Attendee Suspected of Jamming Delta's In-Flight Wi-Fi on the Flight Home A Delta flight leaving Las Vegas right after Black Hat/DEF CON had its Wi-Fi jammed and a fake "Delta Wifi Fast" network broadcast mid-flight, with crew and passengers suspecting a conference attendee. - https://www.theregister.com/security/2026/08/11/def-con-dingus-suspected-of-trying-to-take-over-delta-in-flight-wi-fi/5286331 Delta Flight 591 from Las Vegas to Atlanta drew ACARS alerts from the crew warning of a passenger who'd created a scam Wi-Fi network called "Delta Wifi Fast" to try to scam other passengers, with the crew separately blaming a group of passengers who'd attended a cyber conference in Las Vegas for jamming the aircraft's Wi-Fi; social media speculation ranged from credential phishing to a deauth attack possibly using a Wi-Fi Pineapple-style device, though Delta confirmed to The Register that no Delta system or the in-flight Wi-Fi itself was hacked, but an unauthorized network was broadcast onboard for a short period, and the confusion partly stemmed from crew deactivating the Wi-Fi for about 30 minutes — and if investigators confirm intentional jamming, the offense could carry up to a year in prison and a $10,000 fine, or up to two years for a repeat offender under FCC rules.   The White House Just Authorized Private Companies to Hack Foreign Cybercriminals A new White House program will let vetted private cybersecurity firms conduct government-authorized surveillance and disruption operations against foreign cybercrime infrastructure, including industrial control systems. - https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2026/08/expanding-capabilities-to-combat-transnational-cyber-enabled-crime/ - https://x.com/lukolejnik/status/2087785066768257086?s=46  - https://x.com/weldpond/status/2087713067517755464?s=46  The program marks a major shift in U.S. cyber policy by building what amounts to a state-controlled private cyber force: vetted American companies would be authorized to conduct covert access, surveillance, and offensive operations — including manipulating, disrupting, degrading, or physically destroying cyber-controlled infrastructure like industrial control systems — against foreign criminal networks; operations likely to cause death, serious injury, or that would amount to a use of force can't be approved by normal program directors (though the memo doesn't clarify whether higher-level approval exists for those), and while this isn't a general license for lethal cyberattacks, the risk is that operations spill across borders or hit state-linked systems, raising real potential for interstate escalation.   Colleges Are Quietly Admitting the "Everyone Gets an A" Era Broke Something Michigan is scrapping freshman letter grades to fight a "mental health crisis," while UC faculty push to bring back the SAT/ACT — both signs universities are rethinking the safetyism-vs-rigor tradeoff "The Coddling of the American Mind" warned about. - https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/education/4683350/university-of-michigan-letter-grades-freshman/ - https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2026-06-11/uc-sat-act-test-requirement-admissions-reconsider - https://www.thecoddling.com/the-book The University of Michigan will put first-semester freshmen in its largest college on pass/fail grading starting this fall to help students "start strong" and curb the mental health crisis, following a pattern MIT set back in 1968 and arriving alongside Harvard's move to cap A grades at roughly 20% of students — while, in the opposite direction, more than 1,400 UC faculty petitioned to reinstate the SAT/ACT after Berkeley professors reported students arriving so underprepared in STEM that "it was as if the floor was taken out," and the Academic Senate has since walked back its timeline for a formal working group review, keeping the outcome unresolved; taken together with Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt's "Coddling of the American Mind" thesis that safetyism and grade/test softening actually undermine student resilience rather than protect it, it's a tidy real-time test of that book's core argument playing out on two different campuses at once.   Dad Joke of the Week (DJOW)   Find the hosts on LinkedIn: Chris - https://www.linkedin.com/in/chlouie/ Brian - https://www.linkedin.com/in/briandeitch-sase/ Glenn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/glennmedina/ Ben - https://www.linkedin.com/in/benjamincorll/

Welcome to Episode 301 of The Rizzuto Show, where today's funny podcast begins with the simple question every coworker wants to hear first thing in the morning: “What's wrong with your face?”Rizz shows up sporting a mysterious bandage under his eye, so naturally Lern, Moon and Rafe respond with compassion, maturity and absolutely none of the above. After theories involving shaving accidents, discount Nelly cosplay and possible violence, Rizz reveals what actually happened: he went to the dermatologist expecting to have a skin tag removed. Instead, the doctor took one look under magnification, decided it needed a closer look, removed it and sent it off for a biopsy. So obviously the show handles this delicate situation with dignity.Just kidding. Within minutes we're discussing solidarity Band-Aids, ribbons, Aquaphor, garlic carcinoma and whether Rizz can technically start calling himself a survivor. Nothing brings friends together quite like an unexpected medical procedure and the immediate weaponization of it for content. That somehow sends us into CPR, new-parent panic and the revelation that properly installing a child car seat apparently requires more training than anyone in the room expected. A firefighter calls in, Scott gets some actual useful information, and Rizz remembers the time his son started choking on bacon — prompting Dad Instinct Rizz to spring into action before apparently returning to his omelet like he'd just completed a minor household chore.Lern has also researched emergency procedures for cats, because of course she has. Then Lern returns from Table Rock Lake and the crew settles an important semantic argument: was this a “vacation” or merely a “trip”? Her family getaway included Table Rock, Top of the Rock, an expensive golf-cart cave tour, fake rocks, Branson energy, a canned cave cocktail and enough nickel-and-diming to make you wonder if the scenery charges a convenience fee.The review? Roughly three out of five stars. Nature: beautiful. Family bonding: great. Branson sneaking into the cave like it owns the place: inevitable. The technology portion of today's funny podcast begins when we discover apparently nobody knows how to go anywhere without GPS anymore. After a phone dies around Belleville, getting home becomes a heroic expedition involving memory, highway signs and the ancient navigation technique known as “I think this road eventually hits 270.”That leads perfectly into “popcorn brain,” the term for what happens when our attention starts bouncing between notifications, videos, headlines and entertainment like somebody dumped a bucket of mental popcorn into our skulls. Rizz has watched it happen with his kids, Rafe admits it happens to him during the show, and suddenly everybody realizes this isn't just a teenager problem. We're all cooked.Rafe also celebrates his 3,000th comedy set, which is legitimately impressive and therefore cannot be discussed for long without everyone confusing Mr. 3000 with Mr. Baseball. Congratulations, Rafe. Three thousand performances and you're still voluntarily sitting in this studio. Incredible commitment. Questionable judgment. Finally, St. Louis summer enters the chat. With heat indexes soaring and fall sports practices underway, the crew gets into wet-bulb temperatures, football conditioning, old-school two-a-days, water breaks, marching-band misery and whether parents should make kids finish what they start or accept when something simply isn't for them. Naturally this evolves into expensive travel sports, cheer schedules, obscure athletic scholarships and perhaps the greatest college strategy ever conceived: pick the sport nobody else wants to do.Pole vault your way to financial freedom, kids. It's skin tags, parenting panic, family vacations, technology dependence, short attention spans, youth sports and enough unrelated detours to prove that “popcorn brain” may actually be the official operating system of The Rizzuto Show.Another perfectly normal funny podcast from people who absolutely had a plan when the microphones turned on.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Hole-in-One Hoax, Grandma's Hospital Call & Golf Course Shenanigans

The Rizzuto Show

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 10, 2026 49:29

A golfer allegedly fakes a hole-in-one for thousands of dollars using a sick-grandma phone call as cover, and somehow that's only the beginning of today's nonsense. The Rizzuto Show is back with another funny podcast packed with St. Louis chaos, celebrity gossip, questionable decisions, movie arguments, music trivia, and the sort of stories that make you wonder how we've managed to keep microphones this long. The main event comes straight out of the St. Louis area, where a member golf tournament at WingHaven Country Club reportedly turned into an elaborate hole-in-one caper. According to the story, a golfer told his group that his grandma was in the hospital and he might need to step away for an important phone call. Totally understandable. Very wholesome. Absolutely nothing suspicious happening here. Then the call arrives near a par-three hole.He heads up alone, supposedly hits his tee shot while nobody is watching, and when everyone reaches the green… would you look at that? His ball is IN THE HOLE.A hole-in-one! What a miracle! Grandma must be so proud! There's just one tiny problem: cameras. The crew digs into the allegations that surveillance footage caught the golfer visiting the hole before the round, creating a divot and putting a ball in the cup. Suddenly, Grandma's hospital call becomes one of the most aggressively suspicious excuses in golf history. With reports that the hole-in-one pot may have been around $9,000, the guys debate the most important question: how much money does it take before you're willing to risk becoming the guy who allegedly invented a medical emergency for Grandma to cheat at golf? From there, this funny podcast moves naturally into the next logical subject: whether Jonah Hill could annihilate everyone in a fight.Hill's Brazilian jiu-jitsu confidence gets the Rizz Show treatment as the guys debate martial arts, celebrity bravado, Michael Cera's hypothetical fighting abilities and why the people who could actually fold you into a carry-on bag are usually the least interested in telling everybody about it.We also celebrate Missouri's birthday with a rundown of inventions, foods and famous names tied to the Show-Me State. Toasted ravioli? Obviously. Gooey butter cake? Put some respect on it. The microchip? Apparently Missouri has been doing a little more than deep-frying carbohydrates this whole time. Then Crap on Celebrities arrives with another truckload of entertainment gossip and pop culture commentary. Mark Zuckerberg's massive yacht gets dragged into controversy after a stranded boat reportedly needed help in Alaska. Britney Spears warns fans about a bad Botox experience. The crew gets into movie box-office numbers, Spider-Man, Super Troopers, Bugonia, Weapons and The Dink, because apparently nobody can simply say “I liked the movie” without turning it into a federal hearing. There's also Harry Potter actress Jessie Cave discussing the surprising money she's making on OnlyFans without nudity, Blink-182 heading back into the studio, Five Nights at Freddy's becoming an actual immersive restaurant experience, and a debate over the greatest new wave singers that quickly proves nobody is completely sure where “new wave” begins or ends.Add in Bob Marley's ridiculous Billboard longevity, the biggest-selling albums of all time, celebrity birthdays and the usual collection of side quests, arguments and unnecessary observations, and you've got another daily dose of The Rizzuto Show. It's celebrity news, weird news, St. Louis stories and sarcastic humor crammed into one comedy podcast — because apparently discussing an alleged fake hole-in-one for this long is considered a profession.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Wicker.Yes. A movie about a man literally made of wicker.Naturally, the show spends way too much time trying to figure out why half the internet suddenly wants to date a decorative patio basket. There are jokes about Pier 1 Imports that absolutely shouldn't work—but somehow do—and the crew completely loses it imagining the logistics of dating someone who probably needs to stay away from open flames.Meanwhile, Slash says Guns N' Roses are finally writing new music again, and for longtime fans that's almost as unbelievable as hearing Axl and Slash are actually getting along. The gang dives into what that reunion means, why Chinese Democracy still feels like it took several presidential administrations to arrive, and whether this album might finally become reality.Music nerds also get excited over Green Day launching a nonstop streaming channel full of concerts, music videos, and rare footage, sparking an entire conversation about why every legendary band should basically become their own MTV.On the celebrity side of the world, things take a much more serious turn as the crew discusses Perez Hilton's recent hospitalization and how public perception changes when someone who built a career covering celebrity meltdowns experiences one of his own. It's thoughtful, honest, and still unmistakably The Rizzuto Show.Movie fans get plenty to chew on with Super Troopers 3, Grown Ups 3, Madden starring Nicolas Cage, Jurassic production drama, and one of the creepiest trailers of the year featuring Robert Pattinson transforming into Chris Hansen. Somehow that's still only the second weirdest trailer discussed. Then, because no Friday is complete without an argument nobody asked for, the crew debates the greatest Disney animated films ever made. Beauty and the Beast? Lion King? Toy Story? Aladdin getting snubbed? Feel free to yell at your speakers along with everyone else. It's packed with rock news, pop culture commentary, ridiculous observations, bizarre movie discussions, celebrity gossip, nostalgic music memories, and enough sarcastic nonsense to carry you into the weekend. If you like your mornings loud, weird, funny, and just a little unhinged, this comedy podcast delivers exactly what you'd expect from The Rizzuto Show... and probably several things you never saw coming.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Summer weekends are supposed to be relaxing... unless your family accidentally rents a lake house that isn't actually on the lake. This episode of The Rizzuto Show is packed with the kind of beautifully random conversations that only happen on a daily comedy show. Lauren prepares for a family getaway to Table Rock Lake that quickly turns into a debate over golf carts, caves, spas, and whether anyone actually wants to leave the house. The gang dives into the strange pressure of family vacations, why everyone wakes up before sunrise, and whether it's okay to disappear for a solo adventure just to save your sanity.Meanwhile, Rafe makes an emotional confession about falling back in love with cheese after attempting a dairy-free experiment, leading to one of the funniest conversations about comfort food you'll hear all week. The crew also argues over the greatest fast-food burgers in America, gives Dairy Queen's food menu the respect it deserves, and somehow ends up discussing Sonic-related trauma that's apparently lasted decades.Moon continues his streak of bringing the internet's strangest lists, including the world's best food cities, the worst drivers in America, the most romantic cities, and a collection of Victorian slang words that quickly derail into pure nonsense. Somehow "Cupid's kettle drums" becomes a legitimate on-air discussion. There's plenty of classic Rizz Show chemistry throughout as the crew bounces from travel stories to family drama, awkward Airbnb experiences, summer spending habits, childhood freedom, and everything in between. It's exactly the kind of organized chaos listeners expect from a daily comedy show that never stays on one topic for very long.Whether you're driving to work, heading to the lake, pretending to work, or just looking for something that'll make you laugh, this episode delivers nonstop conversations, ridiculous opinions, and the sarcastic humor that keeps listeners coming back every morning. Thanks for hanging out with us. Sometimes this show reminds you that people are genuinely awesome... and sometimes it reminds you that a jelly bean can somehow taste exactly like dirty dishwater.Episode 158 starts on an unexpectedly wholesome note with stories that restore your faith in humanity. A Wisconsin man hands over the keys to his SUV so a stranded rock band can finish its tour. A father and son complete an entire year of playing catch every single day. A tiny Chihuahua's strange habit helps detect a dangerous illness before it's too late. It's the kind of start that makes you think everyone on the show is about to become better people. That feeling doesn't last long. The crew immediately launches into another round of the legendary Bean Boozled "Good or Gross" game, where listeners win concert tickets while the show risks tasting everything from rotten eggs and boogers to barf, toothpaste, dirty dishwater and dead fish. Somehow, against all odds, this becomes one of the luckiest rounds they've ever played... although luck is a relative term when toothpaste counts as a win.The conversation only gets weirder from there. How much money would you need before willingly giving up inches of your height forever? Would you become Danny DeVito-sized for a million dollars? Would you sacrifice ten inches for fifty million? The crew debates every ridiculous scenario while discovering everyone values their height a little differently. Then things unexpectedly get surprisingly honest when listener emails spark a conversation about saying "I love you" first in a relationship. How long is too long to wait for someone to say it back? What happens if they never do? One listener's real-life story turns into one of the more thoughtful discussions of the episode before everyone quickly returns to making fun of each other.Listener emails also inspire debates about fake email addresses for stores that insist on collecting your information, why prescription medications deserve cooler superhero names, and whether our parents' inability to throw anything away is simply leftover survival instinct passed down through generations.Like every daily comedy podcast, the episode bounces effortlessly between heartfelt stories, ridiculous games, bizarre hypotheticals, listener interaction and nonstop sarcastic commentary that somehow keeps the entire morning moving.Whether you're here for the disgusting Bean Boozled reactions, the hilarious debates, the weird listener emails or simply looking for your next daily comedy podcast, Episode 158 delivers another completely unpredictable morning with The Rizzuto Show.
